  1. Does this mean you are giving him the rough end of your pork sword ?? PS - Watch the gammy leg
  2. Why didn't you just tell her he was a bit of a c*nt ??
  3. Lol I am not sure me and you will ever agree on Pardew. And as i said, i am not going to hide any agendas, i have heard things both before and after his Saints appointment and IMO he is just not a very nice, egotistical little man. But putting personal agendas aside i have to say that he was very much a long ball merchant, his teams did look very narrow and IMO he struggled to change things when it started to go wrong both in matches and over the course of the season. He did ok with us, he should IMO have achieved the playoffs but he didn't get us firing quite quick enough and then failed to keep us consitent towards the end, lets be realistic, with the money spent we should have been right up there and we were never going to be relegated however came in. He may do well at Newcastle, but i can't see it, he is going into a bad situation from the off and has never been good when the going gets tough.
  4. If it all comes together, which i am sure it will then it really is a statement of intent. Hopefully this round of planning and consequent building work should all go through hitch free, i will let you know if there are any developments that i hear about. I mean, there is no way that a team who is not expecting to be in the premiership any time soon would spend such a massive amount on upgrading to top facilities. I am genuinely excited.
  5. Eh?
  6. He wouldn't, would he ?? It could be him, i did hear rumours it was his son involved in one of the takeovers or bringing someone to the table so that could add weight, plus whenever Lawrie writes or talks about NC it is hardly a glowing reference. I doubt we will ever know, TBH i don't even care too much, as long as my beloved Southampton keeps being strengthened and remains financially secure.
  7. TBF we are coming across as a bunch of whinging losers.
  8. If you listen to the interview, from around 2mins onward (can't remember exactly) he talks about the destabalizing rumours. He says something along the lines of the fact that there were always people attached to the clubs throughout the years and stayed attached, drawing salaries etc and when the 'swiss group' came in they were annoyed and made life difficult for them to take over the club. He said they attempted to come back into the club and draw money again but he would not allow anyone in the club that is not adding anything to it. He said they often appear and start spreading rumours every now and again and believes that this rumour was held until now to try and destabilize them at this time when they are looking to complete contracts with sponsors etc. I think. Who could that be ?
  9. No idea, an ex bid team member perhaps ?? Who was the group that thought they were not listened to ? Kept on the back burner ? The daily echo ?? Another member of the press ?
  10. I did say this to a cousin at the start of the season, he said to me they should not concentrate on Champions league and should instead ensure they are up in the top 4 again next year. I told him to behave and realise that they may not be in CL again for a little while, what with the normal big four and also Man City getting in on the act. IMO they couldn't have both and it would have taken a miracle to repeat the feats of last season back2back. He is still a very good manager and will probably do a superb job for england, unfortunately as much as i hate the bloke i would happily have him as our national manager.
  11. To me it just stinks, the whole process is just so rotten to the core and is obvious its only inspiration is to make sure the ExCo members are treated like gods.
  12. If i was a Newcastle fan i would be going mental right now. Now, it is pretty clear i don't like Pardew (never have BTW even before saints) but even if it can be argued he did an ok job at Saints, and thats all he did in reality, didn't excel he did the least possible to make everyone happy (those that think we could have been serious relegation contenders are sadly deluded). But even then, why would you replace a manager who has the full respect and backing of staff/players/fans, that got them promoted and looking quite good at 11th in the table for a manager who has never really done that much in his managerial career and has already failed at the top level ?? Add the that constant rumours of disharmony that follows him around and it seems madness. I bet Newcastle will be in serious trouble come the end of the year, certainly in the bottom 5/6 IMO.
  13. Genital herpes
  14. Pearson did ok, he kept us up, and TBF a new manager always galvanises the dressing room but did he do a godlike job ? No, but then you can understand the hero worship as he did keep us up but mainly as those around us also failed. Pardew wasn't the one that 'turned us around' don't mistake groundbreaking management to the fact that we were taken out of the dark place we were in and money was thrown at the club, hell, look at Man City, did Sven/Hughes/Mancini provide their turnaround ?? No, the money did. Pardew failed to buy another CM that we were crying out for since before the January window and also failed to purchase a lambert reserve/replacement. He did a good job getting Richardson and Dickson looks a boody buy yes but IMO thats only 1 out of 3 postions. Bristol Rovers ?? Did we look like anything before that ? Or directly after ? No, thats why that IMO seems like a bit of a fluke result.
  15. I am not so much embarrassed, it just pales into insignificance if you are a club with any ambition whatsoever, not only that but i believe that Pardew concentrated too heavily on getting us to Wembley and so in his mind justifying a dull and failed season IMO. We should have been at wembley for a playoff final, not the tin pot trophy. In fact even now, after winning it give me a 1/4 shot at the playoffs and not that trophy. As for Pardew, i understand that but these rumours appear from everywhere, wherever he manages he is always sacked under a bit of a cloud and its not just the messageboards where these rumours bubble up from as they also ripple in the media aswell.
  16. TBF i don't think Baj or Steve actually care about this site anymore
  17. You are literally the voice of wikipedia
  18. TBF i am confident that if i asked my manager if he was thinking of sacking me he would say no but i am also pretty sure that would have no basis on a future sacking if i then did something that was considered gross misconduct.
  19. I am not being funny Doddsi, because it was a good day out. But i hardly call the JPT as a first trophy in 34 years, i literally will not be talking about winning it again if/when we are promoted and even now when talking to other team supporting mates and they ask me what we have done in the past few years i still have to s****** a little when i say the JPT. We are hardly up there with any esteemed winners. * 1983–84: Bournemouth * 1984–85: Wigan Athletic * 1985–86: Bristol City * 1986–87: Mansfield Town * 1987–88: Wolverhampton Wanderers * 1988–89: Bolton Wanderers * 1989–90: Tranmere Rovers * 1990–91: Birmingham City * 1991–92: Stoke City * 1992–93: Port Vale * 1993–94: Swansea City * 1994–95: Birmingham City * 1995–96: Rotherham United * 1996–97: Carlisle United * 1997–98: Grimsby Town * 1998–99: Wigan Athletic * 1999–00: Stoke City * 2000–01: Port Vale * 2001–02: Blackpool * 2002–03: Bristol City * 2003–04: Blackpool * 2004–05: Wrexham * 2005–06: Swansea City * 2006–07: Doncaster Rovers * 2007–08: Milton Keynes Dons * 2008–09: Luton Town * 2009–10: Southampton And TBF you can only enter the competition if you are in league 1 or below. Pardew could have got us into the playoffs and failed, he lost the dressing room, didn't sign players needed between this season and the last and IMO was just a long ball merchant. Newcastle are more than welcome to him, rumours follow the man like a bad smell.
  20. I apologise, i missed this thread when posting my own. TBF though as i wasn't looking to buy anything i wasn't going to open a 'for sale' thread
  21. that'll do
  22. Oh yes i am glad i stayed up to watch till lunch
  23. Rumours doing the rounds that the Liebherr family are considering putting Saints up for sale. Slow news day ? Or genuine truth ? Personally i think it is sh*te but then it will give me a few uneasy nights for a while. :scared: http://www.southampton.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=223855 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/8721644.Saints_are__up_for_grabs__alleges_report/?action=complain&cid=8976853
  24. If they have really sacked Hughton for Pardew then it really is madness up on tyneside.
