  1. Totally agree, the number of times I've sat through SSN when they've announced 'coming up next', this normally means anytime in the next 3 hours !! or they forget about it completely.
  2. Well they don't seem to think that it is news worthy enough to be headline news.
  3. 34 expressions of interest, down to 3 or 4 serious parties but none might be taking it forward. Our finances must be really bad seeing how they could make a deal with the creditors on the cheap for the club and/or stadium. I have to say that apart from the Guernsey guys the lack of substansive rumours did point towards not much progress of serious and advanced bidders, these stories do tend to get out one way or the other. Todays Sunday papers, normally a hot bed of gossop and rumour are very quite on the issue apart from this Times story focussing on a possible lack of interest and employee payment problems. Will the council stadium and fan 'last resort' club buying option now come into play ? I'll try and stay optimistic and hope that there is a suitable 'white knight' working quietly in the background about to save us.
  4. Difficult as it is putting emotion to one side, to state the bleedin obvious facts: Ignoring goal difference that needs big changes to be advantaguous to Saints IF Saints win their next 2 matches !! then if 2 of the 3 scenarios below happen we will stay up IF Forest lose their next match at Blackpool IF Barnsley get no more than 2 points in their 3 matches left IF Norwich get no more than 3 points in their 3 matches left I'm probably clutching at straws but its not over 'til its over, but one things for sure we have to perform much better then yesterday and the players have to be up for the fight !!
  5. IF we can regain that all to brief glimpse of form that we showed in late February/early March when we beat Preston, Cardiff and Ipswich (why did that form evaporate again?), then we can win against Burnley. Then hopefully we are still 'in the mix' for the last game of the season against Nottingham Forest, odds are obviously against us though. I won't give up hope until its mathematically impossible. COYR.
  6. I am surprised at the lack of rumours about possible buyers at the moment, I mean rumours based on fact not randomly made up from the worlds richest people. To me this means one of 2 things: 1) The administrator and interested parties are being surprisingly good at keeping proceedings confidential, I know that the administrator has to be but normally interested parties family, friends etc.. allow info to leak out. 2) There are no really serious bidders. Didn't the administrator say mid last week that there could be some news by the end of this week ? It does seem to have gone quiet with no updates since 'there have been 34 expressions of interest'.
  7. Saints 2 -1 just to give us hope and prolong the agony.
  8. The company that I work for are not doing well in the present economic climate, we have 'had' to all take a 10% pay cut for the rest of 2009 to help preserve the company, why can't all the players show similar understanding of the saints situation and offer a wage cut. Mind you inappropriate salaries for our level of income is one of the roots of our current problems.
  9. Whether its Keegan or someone else Saints certainly need to appoint a proven experienced manager. We may need to pay well (not easy at the moment but things may change) to get the right manager, but i feel that having a cheap unproven manager rarely pays off. I good manager can more than pay for himself by making cheaper unmotivated players play to their maximum and gel as a team, for seasons now saints in my opinion have had a good enough squad of players but have under performed individually and as a team. Keegan may be a good call as he may want to get back into management but not at the top level and he may not demand top wages or even medium wages, he must have accumulated some wealth from his playing days and managerial contract payoffs !!
  10. I wasn't suggesting that arriving 5 minutes before a match is a bad thing or shouting down anyone, my main point is that in my opinion shouting abuse at OUR players is unlikely to inspire them to an improved performance, shouts of encouragement might ? Maybe I'm just feeling a bit sensitive at the moment like most of us being so frustrated by the results/league position situation, normally I wouldn't take much note of the shouts as I know its all part of the game. P.S. I've never taken a camera to a football match but I do enjoy watching the team warm up (even in the 1970's when Jim Steele wacked a ball in my face during the warm up, by mistake).
  11. Some of our fans behaviour yesterday was not very 'supportive' to the team. I heard various shouts at players such as: 'Schneiderlin you're s**t' 'Schneiderlin you don't deserve to wear the shirt' 'Bradley 'steal' the ball off them' 'Bradley 'steal' in at back post' I noticed that these people were the normal late arrivers (5 minutes before kick off) who don't bond and support the team during pre-kick off warm up, and seem to take pride in having great venom and un-controllable anger towards anything happening that they don't agree with. These people obviously feel that abusing our players will help the situation, or don't they care ?
  12. Just back from the match and agree with Andy Northern Saint except: Davis 7 Didn't look too troubled, and couldn't do much about the penalty. Thomson 5 poor passing and crossing let him down yes (at times), but did get into some good positions without always an end result. McGoldrick 7 good goal and did some nice touches in mid field Schiederlin 4 I thought that he was poor and deserved the half time substitution. Subs Wotton 5 I thought that he did OK and contributed to an improved performance in the second half. Other points: The penalty was very soft, I thought the referee was going to book the Blackpool player for going over too easily. As he gave the penalty the ref indicated a push, but I didn't see 'the push'. As the ref left the ground after the match I overheard him say that it was a 'frantic' match. I didn't think that it was that frantic, but if he did maybe that's why he booked so many players (6). Saints first half performance was very poor, second half much better and could have won it with the last minute freekick, but Saints never win the last kick of the match do they !! Saints seem to have lost again the free flowing football that they had for the 3 wins in a row and there moves break down too easily. Poor passing, poor running off the ball and lack of pace being major problems.
