Did you know Rasmus has his coaching badges? Well according to his Wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasmus_Ankersen Imagine his team talks and press conferences.
-
Their objective is to make money, like all other football club owners (on the exception of a few who have a connection to the club they own). I think what happened is that Ankersen and Kraft approached various businessmen with their plan and Dragan decided to go for it. Someone told me the other day that Danish football club Midjiland (spelling) do everything with data. And guess who was their chairman. Likely Ankersen had a plan that using the latest data software systems they could outsmart other clubs who dont use it and make money with player trading and finishing high up in the league. It all worked at Brentford and would work again they thought. Problem was that in the premier league you need big money and they relied too much on data and didn’t use their common sense. Dragan has a few options, sell and accept a loss, continue and hope it works out or replace Ankersen and others and bring in experienced football chairman and directors. These are my thoughts and I could be wrong in how I think it went.

If the club decides to sack Tonda it will be 3 out of the so far 4 seasons that Sport Republic are in charge that we will have 3 managers in 1 season. 2022/2023 Ralph, Jones, Selles 2023/2024 Martin 2024/2025 Martin, Juric, Rusk 2025/2026 Still, Eckhert, ??? I think this says enough how the club are run. Or we are incredibly unlucky when it comes to hiring managers.
-
Would someone, who listened to the podcast/show, mind writing down in short what’s said? I’m not in the UK and can’t open the file.
-
I feel sorry for Tonda and the situation he is in. He’s been at some decent clubs and likely will make a decent manager. But he’s been promoted to soon and would have been better if he started as an assistant to an experienced manager. Now he’s run out of ideas, doesn’t have an experienced assistant besides him and doesn’t have the experience to turn it around. Best would be to move him back to the u21 squad and bring in an experienced manager and staff. Some no nonsense manager who’s been around and demands respect from some of the bellends we have in the squad. Then have a clear out this summer (like we say every year) and build a decent team.
-
Clear out for next season, or better now: Sport Republic and all involved.

I don’t think a new manager will have a huge effect on our results. Might have a short bounce but we’ll end up the same as we are now. We’ve had Hasenhuttl, Jones, Selles, Martin, Juric, Rusk, Still and now Eckert. They can’t all be poor managers with clueless tactics. I think, no ITK just purely my thoughts, that the club have a certain playing philosophy in mind and expect the managers to play that way. They always go for managers who are relatively inexperienced and for who we are a big club. They never seem to approach managers who have been around and see us as a challenge. It will only change when those in charge say to Spors and the manager. “Don’t care how or with who, just win games and get results”.
-
Lose the Skates and its exit Eckert? I know we can’t keep hiring and firing managers but we cannot lose to them down the road.
-
We could always organize our own meeting with the club. Book Rasmus and say we want him to come and do one of his legendary motivational speeches on breaking stuff for a group of young enthusiastic graduates. Find a conference room somewhere in town and give him an evening from hell. And livestream the whole event, the media would love it. https://www.rasmusankersen.com/book-me/

Slightly off topic but imo relevant to what could be going on behind the scenes at our club. In the link below, it’s in Dutch, this Dutch newspaper speak to former goalkeeper Tim Krul. https://archive.ph/xVZUa Krul speaks about his career, staying in the UK after retirement and his studies. He mentioned how he wants to be a link between the boardroom and players and says something interesting things along the way. He says that often businessmen who are very experienced in their trade buy a club and make a mess of it because they don’t have a clue how running a football club works. Another point he makes is that these new owners will say, only buy under the age of 23 otherwise we can’t make a profit on them. He goes on to say that these owners don’t realize that you need some old heads in the squad to lead the team. Probably nothing new but this is someone who has spent the last 20 years playing in England and has seen the changes.

I wanted Wolves to beat that record too, but if this win contributes to West Ham’s relegation I am equally pleased. In regards to Rangers, is Rohl really that good or Martin so poor?
-
I was reading an article about Still on a Belgium football website a while back. They said Still is more of a defensive manager and work best when his team is the underdog. I had high hopes for Still but or he is very poor or Tonda is an amazing manager.
-
Been here only a few months and already a absolute legend. Guys amazing and hope he stays here for a while and gets to play Premier League football with us. Also impressed with his English and German.

Damion Downs - Official: Loaned to Hamburg
Dr. Kucho replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Probably best to loan Downs to a German second division club so he can regain his confidence and review in the summer what’s best for both sides. Though after reading the comments on here I doubt it will work out for him. -
Feel sorry for Liverpool a great club with a rich history…. Hahaha couldn’t happen to a nicer club and bunch of players. Spending shit loads on strikers but forgetting that the greatest defender isn’t getting any younger.
-
Just saw some of his highlights on twitter (X), blokes a legend in the making. Running at defenders, his passion and love for the fans. If we don’t go up I think we’ll lose him, but really hope he’ll get a dream move to a top league if he goes. Wish we had 11 Scienza’s on the pitch.
-
Still think we need a more experienced and respected manager. But Eckert has done really well and if he keeps on winning deserves to be in contention for the job.
-
Sports Republic have one plan and one plan only, make money. And so far we are making money from player transfers and parachute payments so plan is to get a cheap young manager and hope we can sell him for a profit too. You can view the club as one big market stall with one goal in mind. Who cares how we play or what we do. As long as we make a profit through player sales and match tickets. So when it comes down to a new manager, look at the manager with the most potential, the cheapest and young. Russell, Still, Selles and now likely Eckert, all young and except of Russell all free and likely to be on a lower wage. So low risk and if one works out and is sold to another club, bingo.
-
This should be on a banner for the next home games!
-
After what the French journalist said around the time of Still’s sacking, that we have a lot of managers in the clubs set up but none really does anything, I think bringing in another manager is a cracking idea! Go Sports Republic!
-
Then the club shouldn’t be giving them 100 per cent of their wages. I do miss the days of Adkins, Pochetinno, Koeman and Strachan when we had a squad of largely likeable players and I looked forward to the next game. On the exception of Scienza, Charles and a few others this squad has some absolute helmets in it.

This is a very good post and I think you’ve hit the nail firmly on the head. My believe is that Rasmus wants to have to much of a say and that Spors’s hands are tied on certain things. Makes me believe that once Spors gets an offer of another club he’s off. Like Wilcox, Shields etc. I worry that we could end up in a bad place with the club with high debt and stripped to the bone.
-
And if Corberan is sacked, who says he immediately wants to move here? He might think, I am still being paid and enjoy being in my home country, let’s take some time off and review my options in a few months.
-
Rasmus might want to read the book he wrote himself, Hunger in Paradise about successful organizations remaining successful. Might help with making Sports Republic a success. Thinking of it, if he knows so much an out successful organizations why is Sports Republic so crap? Why does he say in his Ted Talks you should consider breaking things that aren’t broken? Why does he share his high performance knowledge with IKEA, LEGO, Facebook, Google (2x even!) and others but not at Sports Republic? So many questions and no answers. Or is he just a smooth talking fraudster?
-
If Spors rates Eckert and thinks he has it to be a top class manager it makes sense to have him on board. But he’s inexperienced and putting him in charge could seriously damage his career. They should not forget the state of the club, the bloated squad, the player power and so on. We need an experienced manager with a strong character who won’t take shit from sulking players.
