    Ladybird update please

  4. Those who start posts with - 'What everyone forgets is...' send me into a blind rage. It is so arrogant, ignorant and insulting to people's intelligence. What they really mean is that, until now, they have forgotten, or not taken into account, or been unaware of, a certain fact or situation etc etc. Apart from that I have no problem with it.
  5. Judging by the size of some of the dildos you see nowadays (so i'm reliably informed), they fall into the category of heavy machinery.
  6. Pretty flaccid - but give it a wee while and I'm sure it'll perk up again.
  7. No fear - could have your eye out.

Yes, that was it, '76, the only year it was hot enough to swim in the Solent!!
  9. They should make him stand at the back of the Itchen - Block 4.
  10. The only thing that survives in this photo of Bevois Road level crossing is the concrete level crossing post (far left) and the railway line. Stand here today and you are looking directly at the Kingsland Stand. The pub on the corner is roughly where the Dell Supporters Club Bar is now. The gas holder is not one of those surviving today, it is pretty much on the centre circle! ref. Southampton's Railways by Bert Moody. Atlantic books 1992.

  12. Discussed in full early in the thread.

  14. Stand in the garden and wave some money at them.
  15. Ta. What a shop that was - 'I can get you anything from anywhere' - he was the first to get Reggae/Toaster imports, weird 9 inch singles etc etc.

Me and some mates were once attacked by thousands of them on Woolston Beach (!?!) back in the 70s. Try drawing the curtains and making the room dark for a while, they should start to disperse around the room at a lower level as there will no longer be a bright light source to attract them.
  17. Bought loads of t-shirts in Bondage -in General. Who Dat comics - Above Bar. The Southerner in the High Street - pre match pint and a bun. I was trying to locate the site of Henry's the other day after the Gillingham game - where exactly was it on St. Mary's Street and when did it close? My last memory of visiting the shop was in March 1986 shortly before I left for Scotland. Hurling drunken abuse at Barry Sheene in the Top Rank one 70s night (rabid Mick Grant fan at the time as I had a Kwak 500) -weird that back then bike allegiance was as tribal as football. Sticky floor in the Atherley Cinema. Going to work one morning from Shirley (shared a flat on Greville Road) to the Ordnance Survey in my nice suit - so hungover that I didn't realise that I still had my SFC carpet slippers on! (Teenager/carpet slippers? ) More memories surfacing all the time.

They are docile wee beasties and will not try to fly away if you slide a piece of paper under them or gently pick them up.
  19. That's it, vote with your feet - well foot, anyway
  20. In terms of us achieving Base Camp 1 ie. out of the relegation zone, last night's Tranmere defeat was good and tonight a draw or Gillingham win will help. As I type I am listening on Saints Player - it is 0-0, with Brighton on top, although Simeon Jackson sounds dangerous. 1-0 Brighton 2-0 FT
  21. Great band.
  22. Great band.
  23. Rest of the wha.....?
  24. He'll come on as a sub and sing a brilliant song in the very last minute of the Festival !
