  1. Yes, to the usual derision on here. Good enough for Leverkusen but not Saints.
  2. Do we have the government we deserve this time?
  3. I agree, he's been a big disappointment. Lots of hype around him but to be frank, he's been awful. Not had a good game for us yet, albeit a small sample size. Hopefully he can turn it around but at the moment he's probably our 5th choice CB. One thing in his favour is that he's versatile.
  4. I really liked his interview. Comes across as a decent lad, humble and desperate to succeed. Also seems genuinely delighted to be here. Think he could become a fan favourite.
  5. Ben Yedder would do for a year!
  6. Ocean Village it is then. Good choice Leo.
  7. Gutted to lose Matty but have been resigned to it all summer. He was a shining light in a sea of shit last season, and top class attitude. Shame we got relegated and couldn't enjoy him for another couple of years. Just need to try and spend the money well to improve the team as a whole, which it now looks like we're doing. Thanks and good luck in your future career Matty.
  8. Yes, thank god there was such an improvement after he was sacked, wasn't the quality of players at all...
  9. Meslier is a poor keeper, very error prone, hence why Leeds have ditched him on promotion. In our last Championship season, I believe statistically only Bazunu was worse than him. He does make more saves than Baz though. It shows you can get promoted with a sub-standard goalkeeper, but you need to be scoring goals at the other end. We did that last time, think we might struggle with that this time around.
  10. In the Premier League. There's no way we're spending that much on one player in the Championship and nor should we. I'd be horrified if we spunked £25m on Sargent, who really isn't that great anyway.
  11. To be fair some of his movement off the ball was good today, but we have no-one capable of picking him out. He's just not getting much service at the moment. Far too early to be writing him off.
  12. Whether you like it or not, we signed Downs to be our main 'number 9'. When we also have Stewart, Archer and AA, we won't be signing another one.
  13. If we'd gone for Iraola, people on here would have been accusing the club of trying to be clever and going for the hipster's choice.
  14. I've never understood views like this, like they think they're doing us a favour by lowballing us on our star players. Let's offer £25m for Bowen, and if they reject it give them the silent treatment until they start negotiating.
  15. Yes, how dare little old Southampton hold out for market value for the few actually good players we have, rather than just accepting whatever these PL big boys want to pay. F*cking moron.
  16. Just noticed Mislav Orsic got a goal and an assist for Pafos in their Champions League qualifier tonight.
  17. THB likely to play https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/25378281.still-talks-selection-harwood-bellis-set-carabao-cup-return/
  18. Didn't think we played well over all, but we did create a lot of chances. Probably deserved the win in the end but plenty to work on. Wrexham won't pull up any trees this season but they should comfortably have enough to survive.
  19. People on here keep banging on about Johansson, who no one had heard of before he played against us for Rotherham. Just because you've never heard of him doesn't mean he's crap.
  20. Not viewed as a direct replacement, but they did sign this guy. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cjd2dlek1z7o
  21. I've been to America plenty of times and aside from the obesity, that isn't my experience at all. I would say a lot of Brits meet that description though.
  22. We were in terminal decline under Gao, it's only thanks to Ralph that we didn't get relegated sooner than we did. But it was coming even without the takeover as we had no money to spend. SR have made a mess of things but we'd have been relegated under Gao too before long.
  23. As a Reform voter I don't necessarily disagree with a lot of those, but I'd have Starmer over Corbyn any day. The thought of Corbyn anywhere near power is scary. Problem with Starmer is he sways with the wind a lot, so it's hard to say he's honest, principled etc.
