Yeah. Still hurts that the fans turned against him so vociferously at the end. Bloke gave his all for us with very little financial backing the whole time he was here, but looked completely drained by the end.
-
Quite. Trump was wrong for bringing it up in the immediate aftermath before any investigation, but the fact that saying something like this is deemed controversial now shows what a clown world we're living in. The one and only factor that should count when hiring for a job, especially one that potentially puts lives at risk like air traffic control, should be how competent they are at the job.
-
Good luck Stu. Was gutted that injury at Cardiff cut his season short and deprived him of a proper send off. What an awful night that was all round. Reckon he could still have done a job for us in the PL this season.
-
He is too similar to Arma though, we don't need them both. Still don't understand why we signed him in the first place. Arma is proven in the Championship over more games, and at least you can't question his effort. If we can get our money back for Archer, that's a result imo.
-
Why are people suddenly getting their knickers in a twist about Archer possibly leaving? He's shite, done next to nothing this season. And after his pathetic half arsed sub appearance against Newcastle, I'd happily never see him in a Saints shirt again. I'm not convinced he'd be anything special in the Championship either.
-
I thought that too at first, although he went to give his shirt to some kid at the front with a banner so may just have been that. Did feel a bit like a goodbye though. Wouldn't begrudge him one bit if he left now, he's been a great servant and deserves better, frankly.

Cameron Archer's 'performance' after coming on was a disgrace.
-
So how do you defend the awful atmosphere before this season then? At least last season we had plenty to cheer about. We've had literally fuck all this season, it's beyond depressing. We are shite because our players are well out of their depth, not because the fans have moved.
-
Absolutely shocking that, and no end in sight. That Norwich game, think Romeu scored a cracker. I remember coming away from that game feeling really positive about the team. Jeez.
-
1 win in our last 35 PL games. And that doesn't even include any 9-0's. Last few years just feels like misery piled upon misery.
-
If he does well for them the remainder of the season, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they signed him permanently given how well he did for them in the PL last season. Chris Wilder pretty much said that's the plan. Even if they don't then other clubs will be interested. No-one was paying a fee for him this month so I'm not sure what you expected the club to do.
-
If only he could finish. I guess then he wouldn't be at Saints.
-
Agree, his development would have been much better served playing out the season in the Championship, like Tella. He was poor last season, a few decent months at a mid table Championship club doesn't mean he's ready for the PL, plus we are down anyway. Smallbone had similarly decent reviews when on loan at Stoke, and was far better than Charles last season, yet most on here don't want him anywhere near the team. Silly decision for both us and the player.

Interesting looking at the other results that day. Brighton drawing 1-1 with FC United!

Yeah I'm sure some parts of North Yorkshire are better, only been to York once as a child so don't remember it. I've been to Leeds loads of times due to family connections and it's a dump, horrible place. Grimy buildings, horrible tiny houses with metal bars over the windows etc although some areas aren't so bad. I also find a lot of the countryside(moors etc) up there unappealing as well. Bleak, cold and barren, but maybe that's just me. Give me the New Forest any day.
-
Like most of the places in Yorkshire I've been to it's a grimy, cold depressing shithole. The City of Culture thing really is a joke. Would have been embarrassing if we'd won it, but it was always going to go to a deprived northern cesspit.

Valid pov's from both ends of the spectrum. I was Kingsland North for years until this season. It used to be good, but got worse and worse over the last few years, as did the Northam. Something needed to change as the atmosphere in general has been pretty shocking for a while. I'm now in the Northam, block 44 and I'd say it's been mixed. Really good at times but crap at others. Agree about too many people not singing. And also the cheap nature of the safe standing. And different areas singing different songs. But I also think it's really hard to judge this season as we've been so pathetically poor. 1 win, 7 goals and most games we've not even been competitive and barely looked like scoring. Think we've only scored twice in front of the Northam?! I'm generally very vocal, but even I can't be bothered most of the time atm. When it's properly got going it's been good. In conclusion so far I'd say it's no worse than the last few years, but probably not much better either. But has potential. We just need something to feel positive about and get behind. Not likely any time soon!

Coming away from the game yesterday, me and my brother were reminiscing about when we beat Sunderland 8-0 and the players we had. We were saying just that, it was only just over 9 years ago but it feels a like a lifetime.
-
THB, Janny B and KWP This club has been an utter embarrassment over the past six years really, just going from one low point to another. Even last season in the Championship we lost 5-0 twice. Three of our last four home games we've conceded five goals. Every time you think it can't get any worse, it does. 1 win in our last 33 Premier League games...

Some interesting snippets of Juric from Craven Cottage today https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/clygjz9y4zlt#Southampton
-
Our own Traore missed a penalty in the shootout.
-
Juric seems like a very reasonable appointment to me. Has a very decent record with several smaller clubs in Italy, punching above their weight. I wouldn't judge him on his short time at Roma. But for those that will... He only managed 8 league games and took 10 points. In their other 8 games either side of his tenure they have taken 6 points. They are closer to the relegation zone now than when he left.
-
Yep, basically cheering at us gifting them possession time and time again. I'm not defending him as such, he had to go. But if it was Russ overseeing that performance up to Archer's goal, he'd have been slated on here.
-
Some people are so desperate to hate on Martin. That first half was as bad and as dull as anything we've seen this season. We offered nothing in attack up until Archer's goal. After that we at least had a bit of a go and could have found an equaliser. Can't question the players for their effort but we are so short of quality at the top end of the pitch.
