  1. Bates has relocated the away fans from the corner to the main stand which commands the highest revenue! I'll not be going on the basis of this alone. How can anyone justify £36 plus travel when it's on SKY for free in most pubs? Call me fickle but I'd rather do Barnsley at SMS and give our club the money regardless of the cost of fuel from York.
  2. Regarding the atmosphere it was alright. I usually sing and shout a lot but have a really bad throat and only just managed to smile when we scored. In the lower tier stod for the whole game - no power mad stewards near me! Poor Forest side but you can only beat what's put in front of you! Business back to normal with Cork giving us the Chaplow width - although not as fast - leaving Hammond & Schneiderlin to run the middle of the park. It's obviously a role Morgan doesn't like and Hammond doesn't have the first touch or vision. After around a month of persisitng with the three in the middle - we seem to have found a solution to playing all three in the same midfield.
  3. Has to be the semi at Highbury in 1984 (nearly 30-years ago) it still hurts now!
  4. In my opinion we should rest key players and bring in other fringe players that need a game and try to progress. The Cup games may give players a chance to get some much needed match time, but also act like a "weekend off" for key squad members and those on bans. Whatever the result at Coventry - I'm sure the team will do us proud whoever plays. I'd give Bart, Butterfield, Martin, Harding a run out at the back. In the middle play De Ridder, Hammond, and two others from Holmes, Cork, Scneiderlin and maybe a fringe midfielder in the middle - rest Rickie and give Guly and Connolly a run together. I'd give Lallana a rest too - on the bench with Rickie. I'm with players getting booked on Monday so they miss the Cup game - who are we talking about? I guess Fonte, Fox, Schneiderlin, Hammond & De Ridder?
  5. If that's the case would he have been named as a substitute?
  6. Been twice 76 & 84 - both 1-0 in last minute! Can't better that except with another 1-0 tomorrow with Bart going up for a corner and scoring the winner!
  7. I think it is a good to see them all be clean shaven for next week - take away any of those fuzzy features! A nice sharp razor and cutting edge in front of goal!
  8. It could be really a turning point of the season in more than one respect. Not saying it's a must win game as we had plenty of those last season - but it is all about pride and bragging rights! Really hard to say which way it could go - but we could potentially be 7-points clear if results go our way! Too much to ask but anything is possible in this league. It is a concern about the goalkeeping situation - after all the calls for Bart to start, we need the steadying Kelvin back next week.
  9. Did Channon's 1-0 in 1976 and Moran's 1-0 in 1984. In all honesty running the gauntlet before and after the game in those days was a different prospect to now! Still get the nasty b@st@rds hanging around in gangs, but I don't think there is the same intensity as 1984. I'm really glad it's on TV and I don't have to endure the bubble - perhaps we should just ban Pompey fans from SMS and save the police (and tax payer) a lot of money? Not sure what the outcome will be this time - but I'd settle for 1-0 to The Saints just like in 1976 & 1984 - especially if we score in the last seconds of the game!
  10. Any news on the likely inclusion of the Goal Machine taking us to The Premier League? Just want Holloway to get tonked again and restore our goalscoring prowess - I notice nothing was said that Doncaster are only the 2nd team to stop us scoring this season what does that say? Either we are toothless and clueless without Rickie or we lack natural goal scorers without the space he creates?
  11. Bitterly disappointed yesterday - but today doesn't seem that bad. Asong as we beat Noddy Hooloway next week and back to full strength against the blue few - I'd be happy!
  12. Could be another banana skin this one - Donnie seem to be gelling under a new manager with lots of quality loanees! Just hope they haven't gelled to well until after our visit! See you there ar be square - first of 3-on the bounce - boing, boing!
  13. It is a bit embarassing that we haven't sold our full allocation - guess the combination of the bubble and the Televsing of the game makes it less attractive? I bet they sell out when they come to us in April - if they are still in business!
  14. We all know now it is open knowledge the deal won't go ahead!

    Flag

I would like the nation to see the flag on live TV - hence let's take it to Fratton Park next month? 3-weeks to resolve H&S issues and with a police escort to the ground the flag would not be stolen or damaged by the mongs down there. It would be fantastic to see it unveiled at the opening of the derby game on TV - but I doubt the people at FP would allow it...I'd absolutely love it though!
  16. Complacency - seems to be the only thing that concerns me. Injuries to key players is the only other thing that can ruin our season!
  17. Strange day at the office - but we can stand proud yet again. Can we keep it up until January? Just want a win at Bristol City - one game at a time!
  18. Think I maybe over reacting - seems like the definite no show is Rhadi (perhaps he should be introduced to Gus after his relaxed views on racism? - PS I'd like to see the outcome of that conversation) and the one doubt could be Barnard...so no need to panic after all! Bring on the mighty Reds - and let's go and kick some Brighton butt (or is that too homophobic?)
  19. Just read an interview with Nige and we have a couple of doubts for tomorrow - I wonder who? One is a definite no show and the other doubtful. At Coventry it looked like Rickie tweaked something - I wonder if it is him? Lallana must still be a doubt because of his foot? Didn't see anything else...any word on the street?
  20. According to some it is being shown live in Sweden - so imagine there should be a sdtream available somewhere!
  21. A figure being banded around in the pub before Coventry game was circa £2m!
  22. It only becomes a Derby when your work colleagues have an allegiance to another club - so that would make Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal & Chelsea local derbies around Hampshire! There is only ever going to be one South Coast Derby - and that's our game with Pompey! For many years it never happened and after next year 2012 it will not happen again for many years whilst they languish in the lower leagues! Make the most of it as it will all be history!
  23. Plenty of space on the day in the home stands - and probably the Saints end too!
  24. From my viewpoint it's not so good - at least now we virtually play every Saturday - with TV I guess we will a high percentage of games wanting to be televised? Then you get the away fans in greater numbers? I expect more for the London & Manchester games - but Bolton, Blackburn & alike will bring as many as most Championship sides! Ticket prices away from home will dictate SMS will be more expensive. What IF we set off in The Premiership like we have done this season in The Championship? The clamour to get more top quality players to bolster our squad worries me. I watched Spurs the other night - and technically they were man for man better than us without Bale playing. Full houses virtually guaranteed regardless how we are playing due to the draw for the neutral to see Premiership football live - let's face it much easier to visit SMS than most London clubs with away allocations accounting for the majority of spare seats! As for world wide exposure - not sure I'm bothered. I kinda like winning - in any League and after a couple of seasons I actually like the feeling of going in on Monday and discussing the weekends games including the mighty Saints winning again!
