beatlesaint replied to fanimal's topic in The Saints
Recorded it, fast forwarded to the bit on us, deleted it, 2 mins I will never get back but it did remind me why I havent watched Meridian Tonight for the last 6 or 7 years and while I probably wont for the next 6 or 7 years..........except maybe Monday if we win tomorrow, just to see Fred squirm !! -
We are just getting into the relms of fantasy now aren't we ?
-
We are desperate for something to worry about on here aren't we ? Whats next ? The Hotdog seller is out of ketchup...ketchup is red......we play in red......we're doomed, doomed

Is Anyone Else Not Bothered If We Don't Go Up?
beatlesaint replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
I think its knowing that the PL isnt the be all and end all of football. Having spent the 27 years unbroken in the top division I think we fell into the trap most supporters of the so called big teams do, and that is everything else is crap. Well it aint. In the past three seasons we have had real football fans come to St Marys, we have played some "interesting" teams for various reasons and most of all we have seen our team win a hell of a lot of games. I am desperate for us to win Saturday and go up. But I tell you what, if it only lasted for a season there would be no tears and feeling of doom and gloom from me like there was in 2005 cos there is no fear of life outside the plastic Premiership anymore. Bloody hell, I had to check to make sure I hadn't written that. You are living my life this week mate :-)
-
Yep. I think we have missed him.
-
I forgot all about him. What a waste of time that loan was for everyone concerned. Having said that I would have him ahead of Puncheon.
-
Please start with De Ridder Nigel and leave Guly on the bench.
-
Thats excellent. Im tempted not to look at this site again until after Saturday cos nothing is gonna top this post.
-
They would be so gutted finishing third they wouldnt even make the Wembley final.
-
West Ham have to win by 4 goals if we draw as i understand it.

If we get promoted will we have bus tour around city?

We will have WON promotion to the Premiership wont we ? We wont have gone up by sneaking through the back door, two teams WIN promotion automatically, we should be one of them, therefore we are winners. What a miserable lot of sods you are -
Totally agree. I have already assumed that West Ham will win tomorrow....so if they dont it will be a wonderful surprise, no point thinking they will do anything else really, it will only, as you say, give you a horrible deflated feeling.

Reading booked one before winning the league, thanks partly to us of course, the day after they were promoted. Norwich and Swansea both did it last year, dont know about QPR. Even Bournemouth did it ffs when they went up a few years back. Lets hope we are in a position this time next week to find out for real wether we do or not !! -
Jos is the only one I would start as a regular IF we go up. The two left backs and two right backs we have will both get murdered whilst Fonte is getting pushed around in this league so God knows what the Prem strikers would do to him.
-
I have a hefty bet on Skybet saying they wont. I dont mind losing it btw. Besides it wont matter, we will beat Coventry....it will just be one hell of a long week.
-
I feel a bit better than I did yesterday, I dont think I spoke from the final whistle until I went to bed after MOTD. I think I feel ok today because I just cannot contemplate us not beating Coventry, cant see any other scoreline than a home win. I am however booking next Monday as leave from work, just in case it does go tits up. Dont want to be sacked for punching some smart arsed gob****e
-
You mean we play a lot of what Gordon Strachan used to call propoganda football dont you ? I agree, we do.
-
None of whom are still at the club....which Pearson probably knows to be fair.
-
I wouldnt fancy sitting at St Marys next week mid way through the second half while we are drawing 0-0 whilst someone with a radio tells us that West Ham only need another goal and we are down to 3rd. We have to act as if a win is the only result that will do.....cos I think it will be.
-
Just out of interest what did he do wrong when he came on ? Or put it another way, was he any worse than the rest when he came on ? Anyone know if De Ridder picked up an injury ? Cant see why Bart was on the bench after so many games of going with 5 outfield players.
-
You missed the fkin point chum, this defence will not be able to consolidate in the Prem.....i never mentioned winning the fkin thing.
-
I have said it before and I will say it again - IF we go up we need a whole new defence, the teams in the prem would have a field day against our full backs and against Fonte. All of those who tell me Fox is great will see up against the top players just how far he is away from his man whenever the opposition get the ball. Good players in the Championship, a different ball game in the Premiership.
