  1. It would but its not even a full game if it follows last years formula. It will be a 45 minute game and its over a month before the season kicks off. Prem teams seem to play each other in all these pre season tornaments they have in Asia etc.
  2. or NO top flight experience anywhere....unless you count the Welsh Premier League of course.
  3. If anyone seriously believes a club the size of Liverpool would go for a guy who has not even managed 1 minute of football in The Premiership is off their trolley. They will either go with a foreign manager from a top league or someone with Prem experience. You think Man Utd would appoint Brian McDermott ? Same thing.
  4. Like Lambert came from Barcelona didnt he ? ffs.
  5. Hope so, it worked well in the last 2 seasons
  6. Oh I think Mr Cortese is a bit smarter than some of those that went before. I have no fear of past disasters coming back to haunt us while he is at the helm.
  7. Hope you have said that firmly with tongue in cheek.
  8. The only one I would really disagree with him on is Chaplow to be honest.
  9. Congrats to him, done a hell of a job up there. He certainly started us on this journey, always remember him saying the players had forgotten how to win, looking at that first line up he had to pick I doubt if some of them had ever won to be honest. He gave them a winning mentality, bought in some great players to get us going and gave us a great day out, and win, at Wembley for which I will always applaud him on his return to Southampton. Just hope he goes away with nil point !
  10. I dont think they will be playing Blackpool.
  11. I think Birmingham will give them a tougher test than Blackpool. Vaz Te and co will be too good for Blackpool's shaky defence.
  12. Cardiff have been dreadful over both games......then again they do this year in and year out in the Play Offs.
  13. They might have spent £120 million but how much did they recoup ? You cant go waving figures about if you are only going to present 50% of the story.
  14. You missed my first point, they havent spent an awful lot by PL standards. Take a look at their transfer activity this year.... http://www.worldfootball.net/teams/newcastle-united/2012/6/
  15. Newcastle. I know they are a "bigger" club than us BUT they haven't spent shed loads, I dont think they even gave Pardew all the Andy Caroll money, but thats the kind of thing I would think NC will look at, a club who, and it may only be a one off season, has *****ed the bubble of the big four. If it is true that NC is looking at adding a tier to three stands IF we stay up next year then on potential gates of 40-45000 it is certainly possible but not straight away obviously. Realisitc terms would suggest doing a Fulham with the Europa League and if everything falls into place then doing a Newcastle this season. But I would think the first 2 or 3 years will be about survival and then establishing ourselves back in The Premiership.
  16. I was thinking that....if they aint going to Vegas they sure as hell are going somewhere......or they all booked their holidays convinced we wouldnt need the play-offs
  17. To be honest that is ridiculous. So what if they told the Echo ? Anyone who watched the dressing room celebrations put up on the OS or follows any of the players on Twitter knew about it. Still if they really want to go its not like they cant afford it is it ? Perhaps out of the bonus they would have got for getting promoted
  18. What a great thing for the players to do. Lovely story. Get well soon Ben.
  19. Said with tongue very firmly in cheek one assumes
  20. oh well thats that then. Why do people have to say this when all they mean is they have made their point and have nothing to add ? Its all about opinions, its not an argument for one and unless you are a mod who can close the thread its not necessarily the end !
  21. I'm not questioning his attacking play. I'm talking about his defensive ability and therefore his positional play.
  22. To be honest I'm quite surprised this hasn't already happened given he has been here virtually the whole season.
  23. Going by the definition of what counts as homegrown both Morgan and Bart qualify.
  24. Personally I dont think he will be up to The Premiership. I hope I'm wrong cos I dont think he will be replaced.
