  1. Don't know about you but I fell asleep watching that interview, he doesn't come across as Mr Motivator does he? seemed to be totally underwhelmed. Really drab much like our transfers will be this season no doubt based on what has happened thus far with out 2 beat players sold before he's through the door. Cash in to line Fat Kat's pockets and dross purchased with the change and then we try and turn a sow's ear into a silk purse as usual a plan which has worked for the last 2 seasons I grant you but this season will be tougher. Expecting Puel to leave after 3 years to Arsenal as Wenger's replacement if he does as well as Koeman or Poch if not sacked for relegating us back to the championship, guess time will tell
  2. Were gonna come unstuck this coming season as our transfer policy sucks. We got away with it for the last 2 seasons but our arrogance could be our undoing this time. Selling your best player before a new manager is even through the door regardless of the price even £34M is cheap when Sterling was £50M and Mane is far better than him. and as for our only new signing Redmond as a Mane replacement....... i don't think so, its a joke. I can see Forster and Virgil going next season or even before in January if the right offer comes in, whoever the manager is he has one hell of a job to build a new team If this pattern carries on season after season we will see no improvement in the squad as all players and managers we get seem to use us as a stepping stone to larger clubs and better wages, will struggle to compete with the top half teams and could even battle against relegation if we don't get the quality in the team right. Hope the board recognise this and we get a manager in who will stay for the long term and sign players who want to play for Southampton for the long term too otherwise fans will vote with their feet.
  3. I'm very skeptical about this signing as there was a reason Norwich were relegated in the first place and he was a part of that failure from what I remember some of his performances in the run it were very lacking Also like the majority of signings made over the past few years, even though he has signed a 5 year deal am I the only one who thinks he will use us as a stepping stone for a move to a bigger club later I quote one of his statements made after signing yesterday "When Southampton said they were interested, it felt like the right move for me. I can develop my game here." As he is part of the England U21 setup there is a strong possibility given his age he will break into the 1st team squad in the coming years when that happens we generally sell the player (eg Clyne, Lallana) He will need to convince me that he really is up to the task as he will surely be the replacement for Mane when he inevitably leaves in the near future, so he has a huge job on his hands to emulate Mane's drive and determination. It will be interesting to see what Manager we get in (looks like it will be Claude Puel) and what other signings he will attract to plug the gaps made by players our best players being sold, if it is Indeed Puel i'm not sure this will attract the same quality player we would of signed if Koeman had still been here.
  4. If he doesn't like it, he can F**k off too
  5. Could happen to a nicer fella http://s32.postimg.org/dnmghaemd/89735232_dejan_lovren_rex.jpg
  6. Cuco having a mare out there today can't even keep a simple received pass in play
  7. Class player just what we needed.....hopefully a sign that Ron is staying too
  8. Didn't say it was Europa league at the time it was 1st reported soz....... so looks more like a player euro ban now
  9. Don't think it matters if they were doing the doping does it, he was playing for them and had an influential role in some of there recent games when he should not of been playing, Liverpool now have acknowledged this by dropping him from future matches. UEFA should if proven guilty at very least consider some sort of sanction against the club, i'm sure all those teams including us who are chasing European football next season will be looking at that. Looks bad for them in UEFA cup too, most probably be hit with a large fine though
  10. Will be interesting to see if Liverpool will be docked points for this if proven http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36120459
  11. game over for us Liverpool will score a hatfull tonight with that defending
  12. tbh it was all over for us last weekend vs Everton we needed to win that one to have any chance what so ever Looks like its 8th place only for us as Liverpool will surely overhaul us
  13. Haven't purchased one in protest since the club sacked all the old programme sellers who had been selling the clubs programmes for years, they replaced them with younger irks without as much passion and raised the price to squeeze more out of us fans as a cash cow, I think as fans we all pay enough for our seats and traveling to matches without the insulting cost of £4 for a programme to add to this (half of it's content is just adverts anyway), hope the survey conducted shows this to be the case and the club listen's and it's lowered in price for next season. also agree about the large size too it's just ridiculous
  14. Embarrassing performance tonight, thrown away our season in the last 2 games, It will be a nervous game at home to Sunderland on Saturday as we need to win it for sure now with Chelsea breathing down our necks to have any hope of getting 7th place
  15. Missed the pen too couldn't happen to a nicer player quality lol
  16. Clattenburg the ref for City vs Spurs this should be fun
  17. Have to agree watching this earlier it was plainly obvious that the commentator was willing an Arsenal win and was so cock-a-hoop when Welbeck got the winner his voice cracked with emotion, disgraceful really, was gutted for Leicester but still hopeful they can hang on in there, would loathe and Arsenal title win after the way Wenger has behaved this season
  18. Taxi for Mane I think after that effort
  19. I bet Chazza is itching to show David Gold just what a bargain we have got by banging in goals against his team on the 8th Feb
  20. A Great signing, which was always on the cards......Can't wait to see him demolish Manure and that watch that deluded ***** Van Gaal suffer more next weekend, hopefully it'll end their top 4 finish ambitions too. Whats also good about this signing is in the summer we will probably offload the then 32 year old knee crocked Pelle back to Italy to some gullible serie A club for around £4M-£5M where it will mess with his head and his form will hopefully take a dive just in time for Euro's and will totally screw up Italy's game plan as they rely on him the goals anything which gives England a better chance is ok with me..... Who knows maybe if Charlie can score a hat full of goals for us maybe he'll get his chance in an England shirt.
  21. As we are at home for our nexr 3 games Palace in the FA cup, Watford and then West Brom Given that Wanyama will now miss the Palace game due to suspension, if Koeman plays Mane and Wanyama in front of home crowds what reception do you think they will get from the fans based on yesterdays debacle? or do you think that Koeman needs to drop them both indefinitely for the sake of team spirit?
  22. Gotta be Sam Byram for me too, apparently we bid £4.5M last summer which was rejected, but as his contract is up this summer expect Leeds to let him go rather than let him leave for free this summer. He is expected to leave Leeds in the January transfer window He is a solid attack minded RB and can also play RW, is only 22 so fits the clubs philosophy would give Cedric the kick up the backside needed as he currently has no serious competition for his place and would be an option to play on the right of midfield also
  23. Be happy if this is true as he's gotta be better than that bottler Cedric who had a mare against Spurs. I agree Chambers should never of left us, out of his depth when playing for Arsenal at centre back where he has been made to look stupid at times when he plays that position but no doubt's he is a quality RB and made his debut for England while playing for us when he covering for Clyne at RB while is was injured, he would never be given a start at RB position at Arsenal as he is behind Bellerín and Debuchy in pecking order as Arsene doesn't believe in him
  24. bet were all waiting for the inevitable Yoshida/Gazza mistake that gifts them a goal and puts us on the back foot for the rest of the game
  25. Literally meaning we play the ball backwards most of the time rather than forwards
