  1. I was looking forward to watching Decline and Fall, but I was disappointed to learn that apparently it's not a documentary about Portsmouth
  2. Mané out for the rest of the season That's Liverpool's top 4 hopes gone. Looking forward to beating them again soon.
  3. I think next season a couple of the big clubs will slip up. If Arsenal have a new manager, that might disrupt them, particularly if they are in the Europa League. Man Utd haven't really adapted to Sir Alex leaving. And Liverpool haven't done brilliantly this season, even with no European football. Everton won't be as competitive either. Hopefully we'll be able to take advantage
  4. Puel has done a remarkable job, considering the squad options, huge amount of games, and injuries to key players. Koeman last night would have resorted to getting everyone to lump the ball up to Pelle and hope for the best. It took bravery from Puel to stick to his guns and not change things. Next season though, I do expect us to be higher up the table.
  5. 1st one definite, the second one was 50/50, and there was definitely a foul on the Palace player. I thought at the time, if the ref gives this foul for them, the crowd will go beserk, which is why I reckon he didn't give it.
  6. I think against West Brom we'll cope without him but we'll really miss him against Man City.
  7. Exactly, all the stats show we are a good team, we've been incredibly unfortunate at times this season. And we're still in the top half.
  8. A win is always satisfying, Heisenberg and Batman getting proven wrong is doubly so
  9. So, we're still in a relegation battle then? Good win, deserved three points, top half finish here we come
  10. Less than 1%
  11. I don't think we'll see Caceres ever play for us, unless Yoshida or Stephens gets injured/suspended
  12. Palace fans very worried that Kelly is starting for them. Hopefully Long will take full advantage of him, he's the weak link in their defence.
  13. Leicester's 5000-1 odds were at the start of the season, not in April. I'm not taking the 'everything is fine' line, but everything isn't doom and gloom either Even if we do go on a terrible run of form, a whole host of teams have to go on great runs to overtake us. That website predicts 36 points will be enough to stay up, and we're already on 34. Even if we lose tonight, I still predict we'll finish in the top half Rather than overreact to a recent disappointing home draw and bad performance, people need to use their heads and look at the bigger picture.
  14. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/ A well-known statistical website gives us a less than 1% chance of going down. LESS THAN 1% Sunderland and Middlesbrough are as good as down, the final spot is between Hull and Swansea. End of story. That same website says we will finish in 9th place. We're a much better team than the doom mongers (pun intended) want you all to think that we are.
  15. You have to be quite thick to think there is any chance of us going down
  16. If it's that the more intelligent people want him to remain, then probably you're right
  17. Posting the ramblings from twitter is a decent alternative to POL anyway Although, when I registered a few months ago, I used a Pompey IP address, so it looks like they're refusing everyone
  18. I think the remaining games outstanding and their exact dates will be confirmed by Friday
  19. Thank you for this rational post. I'd add to that, and say that we have TWO goal threats (Austin as well) injured, as well as the best CB in the entire league. As I said before, Puel is doing a remarkable job in the circumstances.
  20. 7 points from our last 5 matches. Mid-table form. Considering that our top CB is injured (arguably the best in the entire league) and without our two top goalscorers, he's doing a remarkable job.
  21. They've won their last 4 league games They'll be confident, but it wasn't long ago that they lost 4-0 at home to Sunderland, so let's hope that they show some complacency
  22. Hehehehe. 2/10
  23. Another south coast team can lend them the 'WE GOT A POINT' open bus tour
  24. Change the team up a bit We'll need to improve, no doubt about it
  25. Stick VVD and our top two strikers all out injured
