  1. Club's accounts published = press working out how much has been spent = sale value = SOUTHAMPTON IS WORTH THIS MUCH AND EVERYONE WHATS TO BUY A BIT OF THE SUCCESS PIE! Typical rubbish journalism trying to fill up a slow news day as the articles produced show that the reporter knows NOTHING. An "unnamed source" = made up All of the facts in the story are already publicly known so the journalist is just rehashing a chinese whisper and passing it off as news. All it needed was a purple monkey dishwasher at the end of the article to show its real credibility. For now its clear money has been invested and the Saints are going forward, why would they sell?!?!?
  2. I really doubt he'll get a game with us this season, would be much more surprised if we ever play him in the prem. He's such a frustrating cb to watch, makes a good tackle then gets caught out by a basic ball over his head or a simple pass. Looked out of depth in the last 20 mins away at Rochdale! Sad the way he was out of action this season and good for him to getting back to fitness with the club, but never a championship cb.
  3. Brum not going up should really mean Ben Foster should be a long term target for the club (he is loaned out to West Brom just to get prem football). Bit undecided about Kelvin in the prem, he's had a much better season this year (cut out may of the near post beatings that have made me so frustrated with him in the years gone by) but we can't just give him no. 1 without any competition, which after that Blackpool game (and cup games this season) has gone from Bart.
  4. Just so long as I don't have to put with with a standing rant about how bad Guly is every week I couldn't care less about being the best fan. There are plays who are good, players who are bad and players with odd expectations. I just don't think a real fan would try and write off Guly as bad as Forte or Paul Wotton as the primary thing to do whilst at football -_-

    Jos

What a brilliantly odd pair! Love seeing Jos after goals, he really seems to care and enjoy playing at the club
  6. Mathematically miles above 17th and matching reading is perfect! Excellent paddys day
  7. Lee just is better, seems too simple but Lee was a bit of an unknown quantity and has turned out to be really something quite special. Take nothing away from Sharp he looks a good player and has scored some cracking goals at Donny this season, but he really isn't quite the same package Lee has turned out to be. Give Sharp some more training (time to get his head into the team) and he should be good
  8. Coventry, Reading and West Ham are just a little too close for it not to go down to the last day
  9. Ah nice one! I was running from my initial impressions from 15 league games and have been trying to work out quite whats changed. Lee has been quality on it! More or less reflects my impressions of him in real life (amazing competition for Lambert and Sharp) I am guessing Martin will get better with games
  10. Update has fixed chap low, made martin a bit better (still not amazing sadly), put lee in game (who despite his stats has been class), changed both the keepers to sweeper keepers, couple of the u18's look slightly more promising, jos now is rated as leading star in the champ which is nice and saints have plenty more money! Best of all though Tommy Forecast has been nuked so badly it's almost funny... (coaches think maybe bsp, at a push)
  11. He is, it's clear for all to see. Thread title needed an apostrophe though
  12. Lee, Sharp in his few games really hasn't looked much better than what we have/ quite right for the set up of the team (needs a bit of work). Lee has the enthusiasm and at least some ability in the air, bringing something a little extra to the side.
  13. Chaplow is not the messiah!!!! (he's a bald guy with a bad knee...) Christmas blip was a combination of a horrible set of injuries and Lambert suspension (highlighting a slight lack of depth in the squad that the transfer window has sorted out a bit). Its been and gone thankfully
  14. Him and Steven Naismith
  15. NO! Keep him away. 5.5m does not equal prem potential and being an ex saints player does not make him pedigree (unless its pedigree chum). I don't think its worth rocking the boat with an over inflated ego because we might just need him. We have 3 high quality cb's and 2 good cover cb's that should see out the rest of the season. No need to take on some cast offs "just in case"
  16. Criteria - Are they Ricky Lambert? No = Not player of the year Yes = They are player of the year Pretty clear cut for this season, I can't think of any bad performances (a few quiet ones but never a bad one) and many many man of the match ones too.
  17. Well Mills being dropped from the Leicester side and apparently loaned out really shows up his quality there too... He must be "sooooo amazing" if he's worth 5.5m and one of their top earners, despite being dropped, slated by every fan (was talking to some on the way back from watford at home as they were on the same train who were slating him) and cast off. Hardly think any of those characteristics mean he's anything close to better than Martin
  18. Hammond just panics and gets the ball away as fast as possible. Yes sometimes it goes to someone who wants/needs it but most the time its a throw in or a useless hoof to the opposition. Morgan has earned his place in the team because he can win the ball, repeatedly. Once he's won the ball he has the ability to do one of several options, including passing to a team member, holding it up to create a break in the opponents play or even running with the ball into space. There is no good reason to drop Morgan now, his fitness will be tested over the run in but his game has expanded way beyond Hammond's and provides something very essential to the team
  19. I thought we already had since we got out of L1 and things are going good for the club maybe?
  20. We've played our games against Cardiff so anything that keeps them in form for the run in against the other teams around us. Wouldn't mind them to win just for a cup upset, always liking one of those (almost) regardless of the team involved.
  21. He's had 3 sub appearances and 2 starts now? (one league and one cup start) To be honest I think he's looked amazing, a completely different type of striker than we've seen at the club for a while. He's amazingly energetic, but instead of the Barnard type of running about trying to get the ball, he his placing him self to be given the ball in all sorts of interesting places. He seems ok to run about and get it if needs be but his running especially seem's more focused on being the man that beats the offside trap or creates the space from a difficult ball/run. (Cardiff at home was where I was most impressed with this latching on to the end of a clearance to the corner flag in the 80th min that lead to a chance) For team mate comparisons I see him as a cross between a better De Ridder and maybe Barnard, but either way give him a little while to get used to England, the team and playing a summer-summer fixture list (instead of a spring-winter one) and I think we have a prem partnership between him and Lambert
  22. Quality 3-0 and Forte gets a goal for county...
  23. Did no one point out the acronym for the second one probably isn't the best choice...
  24. Rooney winner of the ugmo-jones award every year! No one looks more like they scare children for a living!
  25. Good news! Maybe they will get England call ups too...
