Trivial point but when was the last time we had a gap this big between a pair of fixtures in a season. Palace was our opening game back in September and now our 4th from last.
-
I can’t possibly see how. I think Ralph’s just been rotating his squad and trying different options.
-
At least we’ve got to the point where another loan is as good as selling him. He won’t be back next summer, wherever and however he goes. He’s looked okay for Fulham and seems to be getting regular games, he might have suitors.
-
Personally I’m okay with the current system as it at least gives somebody a meaningful majority to be able to enact some policies. Even taking ‘97 as an example, Labour only won 43% of the vote. I’d want whoever gets elected to have a bit of wellie, then if they’re useless we can at least judge them by their own governance and not stalemate by committee.

It’s like when Liverpool signed a bunch of players from the team that finished 8th and ended up... 8th.

That wasn’t the question. I just gave the most clear example I can think of to illustrate why this line of thinking is wrong. I could probably give 100 others if I put my mind to it. The real question is - Is it necessary to fast for Ramadan? The answer is clearly no, as PIA management have illustrated. It’s religion a la carte, when it’s convenient. As such, if an employee’s personal life was a detriment to their performance at work, I’d take issue with it. If a player can fast with no detriment to their on pitch performance, I have no problem with that as a personal choice.

Yep. https://www.paddleyourownkanoo.com/2021/04/10/pakistan-airline-bans-pilots-from-fasting-on-flights-during-ramadan-over-plane-crash-fears/

Not Tom Cruise, apparently. The unhinged, gullible, scientologist nutcase is handing back his Golden Globes from about 1/4 of a century ago.

Just to point out, nobody at Saints Web has verified that this is genuine, so if you’re signing up to this - do so at your own risk. Hopefully all the tinfoil and coat hangers don’t degrade Matt’s wifi signal too badly.

Anyone starting to look nervously at the table?
Lighthouse replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
All the noises coming from the club seem to be that we’re desperately clinging to the ageing mediocrity that’s got us where we are. First Long, now Walcott and Bertrand. The future’s not looking much brighter. -
A pen and a red not given by VAR in quick succession. I can’t believe they think doubling down on wrong decisions somehow looks better on them. Refs are bottling big decisions and VAR is bottling overturning them. It’s BS.
-
Likewise. Good luck though.

He’s 32, we’re going to be saying a lot more, "but before he was injured..." if we keep him. Being a ‘squad player’ just means he isn’t really good enough, we’ve got plenty of squad filler we’re trying to get rid of. If we want to stay up we need to bring in someone who’s actually better than Minamino, Djenepo or Redmond. Long is out of his depth in the Championship these days, that’s scarcely an endorsement, although a year ago plenty of people were saying the same about him too. What a great lad he was to have around the dressing room etc. I’m not sure in what way you think he’s going to benefit academy players, either. Teaching them to charge full speed into tackles or how to completely fluff a one on one, they seem to be his specialities.

It’s possible for Miss Sweden to knock on my front door, declare her undying love for me and start ripping her clothes off. Not happening though, is it?
-
A Fulham win is quite obviously the best result for us, the fact that people are still entertaining the possibility of them catching us from 10 points behind with 4 games left is crazy.
-
If we gave Walcott a two year deal, I can’t imagine him and Long would be on less than £100kpw combined. That’s over £10m on those contracts plus whatever signing on and agents fees. For a club who’s supposedly skint and won’t be getting investment any time soon, that’s verging on insanity.

Which one?

Racist abuse on social media after team loses
Lighthouse replied to East Kent Saint's topic in The Saints
The solution is a different SM platform with no @ or DM function, so you can't contact anybody. Make it simply a subscription platform where you can choose to read people's tweets and nothing else. Sadly, platforms like Twitter are just too popular as people become literally addicted to numbers of likes, retweets, followers and the possibility that the tall one from JLS or a 43 year old former Page 3 girl might retweet them or send a generic birthday greeting. -
The whole season was all four nothing.

Oopsie daisies.

🤣 Priceless!

Oxford are going to win, no doubt about that. Probably Charlton too. Pompey need two in injury time now.
-
Someone, somewhere needs to come up with some money. I know that sounds ridiculously simplistic but I'm not running the club and know nothing about banking and finance. What we're doing right now is the football equivalent of missing two months rent and just shrugging our shoulders. Somebody needs to get a weekend job or work a few extra hours before we get evicted from the league.
-
There's a reason a team fighting over 6-9th didn't want him, sold him to a team fighting over 7-12th, who then decided they didn't want him either. I think we'd be bat sh*t crazy to offer him any sort of contract but fear that's exactly what we'll do.

He did a decent job with young lads who grew up idolising and respecting him. The problem was bringing in big names who are used to higher calibre managers with more experience than a half decent season at Derby.
