  1. Have you read and understood the context of it?
  2. United have inherited our throne at home.
  3. The bottom four are that lame that I really can’t see Brighton being a factor anyway. Personally, after 3 years of looking nervously over our shoulders, I’d quite like to have a season of just not caring about the R word. That means those bottom four continuing to get spanked for another month or two, so that even if we have a Bournemouth style, mid-season 8 defeats in 10, we’re still comfy.
  4. Friday night home game, can’t remember the last time we had one of those*. Obviously the injuries are the worry here. I’m guessing it’ll be Vokins, Jack and Redmond in for the three we’ve lost, with Theo going up top. That’s what I’m hoping for anyway. *I’m being sarcastic, you don’t have to tell me.
  5. Yes but we haven’t scored any goals off target all season. A worrying stat IMO.
  6. I’d have thought if there was any suspicion of ACL injuries, he’d be told at the very least to keep the weight off it. I wasn’t watching, did he receive any kind of kick when he went down or was it a twist/fall?
  7. No, why would you assume that? Given a straight, binary choice between winning today and Ings is out for the season or losing and Ings is uninjured, I'd take the latter. Hopefully that's not the case but until I hear news on his injury, it's all a bit flat.
  8. I think the injuries are the downer. Especially when you’ve got Ings and ‘knee’ in the same sentence. I’d rather have lost today than lose him for the season, although hopefully it doesn’t come to that.
  9. Still last on MotD. Shame about the injuries.
  10. Interesting. Have I missed an injury to Obafemi or is he now behind N'Lundulu in the pecking order?
  11. So the potential for an extra 450 cancer deaths per day upsets you but an extra 3,500 Covid deaths doesn’t?
  12. 4,000 per day?
  13. I don’t see how you can call them anything other than perfect results for us. Keeps that bottom four well adrift and the only team you’d call our rivals realistically is West Ham, who lost.
  14. Changed the game when he came on for Villa in 2005.
  15. Eh? 24 year olds don’t get taller, quicker or stronger but technique and finishing are two things they can improve upon.
  16. Resht in Peash. 😔
  17. What an odd way of describing a partnership which has scored 17 goals in 15 League games since the Covid restart.
  18. Honest question - has any black former player actually come out and said, "I really want to get into management but I’m scared/intimidated/dissuaded because I’m black." I see a lot of people, black and white, saying this but it’s always about other people. I lived in Lincoln for a while when Keith Alexander was Imps manager. Maybe he just wasn’t high profile enough but if there was a glass ceiling then surely people like him have already broken it. That was 20 years or so ago now and we’ve had hundreds of retired black players since then.
  19. Pointless whataboutery from a fairly tiresome satire outlet. I think Starmer has played a blinder and yet the hard left supporters seem to be furious that their party is once again electable.
  20. Yep, it's quite difficult to read. To give him the benefit of the doubt, I think he meant it in the third person, although it still comes across as a bit of a haphazard rant.
  21. Crikey, that’s quite the statement 😮
  22. I think KK is just an avatar for everything we hate about celebrity culture. It’s hard to understand just how warped her perspective of the world is but this is a woman who can get paid tens of millions for one Instagram post endorsing some cosmetic product. One of her sisters (Kendal, Kylie I forget and don’t care which) is apparently a 23 year old billionaire, simply because she lends her face to various beauty products on Instagram... billionaire... it’s hard to imagine but looking at her Instagram, she is followed by the equivalent population of Russia and Spain combined. If her followers were a country, it’d be the 8th largest in the world. Not to defend her behaviour but it’s no more eccentric than Trump or any other Sheikh, Oligarch or cartel head. It’s just more publicised.
  23. That’s a very tall Egyptian.
  24. I like when people come up with numbers, trends and statistics to cleverly explain how they’re going to donate £10 to a bookmaker. 😃
  25. I worry that, however well intentioned this may be, it may simply be reinforcing a negative. If you continuously tell people they are the victim of discrimination, it will stick and they will believe it, whether it happens to be true in that case or not. The fact is that most black people will fail in many of their endeavours; the reason being that this is true of everyone. The danger comes when you start implying that this is NOT the case for white people and quotas and diversity schemes only reinforce this. If you employ black people through such a scheme it creates the completely false paradigm of what life must be like for most white people.
