  1. For the first goal, any one out of Fonte, Fox or Davis should have prevented it. All 3 goals were a combination of careless individual errors, not picking up a man and failing to make a fairly routine clearance. Adkins is no mug, he will have watched the videos in much more detail than we have and should have them firing on all cylinders again come Tuesday.
  2. Gordon Bennett, how did we lose that one. Play like that and we wont have any problems. Fair to say Fonte had a bit of a mare though. Brushed aside for the 1st and 3rd. Deano or Cork really should have picked up Le Fondre for their second.
  3. Without racing, these horses just plain wouldn't exist. Personally I'd rather be shot than never have been born. Still sad though.
  4. Please stop responding to alpine, he's an idiot who serves no purpose other that to drone on with the same pointless arguments ignoring all fact and reason. Put him on your ignore list and save the rest of us the tedium of his ridiculous 'opinions'. The last time Saints won 6-0, we had a 0-0 bore draw at home to Notts County the next game. Form is fickle.
  5. We need to equal Whams next to results and we can go into the last day needing a draw. All 4 games are away, which would you rather have; Bristol and Leicester or Posh and Boro? I'd take the latter any day of the week.
  6. if there's one thing I know for certain about football it's that half time scores NEVER change in the second half. Never.
  7. Boro winning, bugger.
  8. Winners for Derby and Cardiff would be nice.
  9. Well, I expected Brighton to put up more of a fight than that. Gordon Bennett.
  10. 7 better at the moment I think.
  11. Ah well, best to get the disappointment out of the way sooner rather than later. At least this way we don't spend 2 hours clinging to desperate hope. Hahahhahahahahaha 2-0 Donny
  12. First goal of the day goes.... against Pompey!
  13. One of my favourite memories of playing in League 1 was the last 20 seconds of it. I was sat near the front of the Kingsland, just right of centre. Deep into injury time, I could see masses of fans gathered at the 4 corners of the pitch and Walsall had a goal kick. As the goalie is possitioning the ball the lino right in front of me starts sprinting accross to the pitch towards the tunnel. 3 seconds later the goalie takes the kick, the ref blows up and the entire Walsall bench and their coachs charge onto the pitch, only to be swamped by a tidal wave of Saints fans. I ended up on the pitch eventually too, it was a fantastic day to be a Saints fan.
  14. I get the impression that Norwich and Swansea have been found out somewhat. I think they could both be battling the drop next season
  15. Lots of ifs and buts this afternoon. Obviously the big one is going on at Upton Park, let's hope the Hammers form continues for a couple more games. Here are the fixtures and who I think we want to win each one (in bold). Barnsley vs Cardiff - To try and cut Boro adrift of 6th place by the time we go there, so they have nothing to play for. Brum vs Bristol City - Want Brum's playoff spot not being secure when Reading come to town on the last day (unlikely I know). Would all but send Pompey down. Burnley vs Coventry - Want Coventry down by the last day. Derby vs Boro - Same reason as Cardiff game. Donny vs Pompey - Well obviously Leeds vs Posh - Would help if Posh were mathematically safe on Tuesday. They're all but there, 9 point clear of drop zone. Millwall vs Leicester - Need Leicester in the playoff hunt when Wham go to the Walkers. Forest vs Blackpool - Again, same as Cardiff game. Also Forest not safe yet, want to keep it that way until they've played Reading. Watford vs Hull - Hull go to Wham on the last day. If they were still in the playoff hunt, that would be good. Would also push them above Boro West Ham vs Brighton - Obviously. Then there's Ipswich away to Palace, which we just plain don't give a sh*t about. Come on you Seaguls!!!
  16. Isn't the entire wedding ceremony just riddled with unnescessary tradition, pomp and hypocrisy anyway? A great big church service - For people who most likely don't believe in God or religion anyway. A big white dress - For a woman who is almost certainly not a virgin. If it was just about being married, the two of you would just turn up and a registry office and sign a couple of forms.
  17. Of course it's stupid, this is Dalek were talking about. He says things which are blatantly and factually wrong just to get a rise out of people. Just to clarify for everyone. We don't need "at least" 7 points. 7 points is the absolute maximum we will need, even if West Ham win all 4 remaining games infinity - nil.
  18. Fully expect either: 1. West Ham will smash them a la Barnsley and be 3-0 up at half time. 2. Brighton will be all over them first half, but go in 1-0 to a dodgy 44th min penalty. Chasing the game 2nd half, they lose 2-0. 3. Wham will batter them for 90 minutes and just when we dare to believe they could hold on for a draw, Wham win it with an injury time screamer. I am resigned to one of these 3 outcomes. As such I am undisappointable this afternoon.
  19. West Ham will win today. Anything Brighton can get will be a huge bonus, but let's assume worst case so we can't be disappointed. West Ham will win. That still means they have to get an extra win and a draw in just 3 games, ON TOP OF whatever results we get. That's a massive uphill challenge for them and they have much tougher fixtures. I don't think I'd swap any of their last 3 for our last 3. Maybe swap our trip to Boro for their Hull at home, but both of those games are a lottery. Hull are just as likely to frustrate Wham at Upton as we are to catch Boro on one of their horrendous off days up at the Riverside. Believe people!
  20. TBF, his scoring record this season has been no better than David Connolly... ... 2 goals each at St Marys.
  21. He looked pretty decent tonight, certainly offered more than Lallana IMO. He got a few decent crosses in, unlike the others who just played the same high floating ball in to the back post, which was either easily caught or went out for a goal kick. He also won a few corners getting in behind and putting a cross in and worked space well for Butters. De Ridder wasn't the problem, far from it. Reading just wanted it more and we gifted them 3 goals through carelessness.
  22. Not doubting Pearce has been excellent this season, but I wouldn't swap anyone in this league for Jos Hooiveld. I guess it's our job as fans to big up our own players.
  23. Just like they did at Upton and Fratton.
