I can't see anything other than a defeat in this match I'm afraid.

It's a friendly against an, at best, 'rotated' Real Madrid squad. Bompey are asking for more money than Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea et. al would for a competitive Premier League ticket. I think some people get carried away with regards to the quality of foreign teams sometimes, saying things like, 'he must be good because he's scored a few in the Champions League.' In actual fact most of the goals were against teams like Sparta Prague and Helsingborg. Pompey fans talked about the draw with AC Milan being one of the best results in their history, when in actual fact that team was no better than someone like Liverpool. In a nut shell, I wouldn't pay more than half what Bompey are asking.

That was a while back though, he's 29 now and his scoring record isn't exactly fantastic. 11 Premier League goals last season and 4 the year before.

I haven't seen a lot of him but he looks a decent prospect to me. For a 20 year old playing his first season in English football to get 24 goals is one heck of an achievement. We payed £7m for JRod after a similar season but he was 3 years older and had been playing in England his whole career. I'd say £8m is probably a reasonable enough fee for Vydra.

Yoanne Folly was terrible. He was instrumental in some of our worst performances when we went down, including the defeats at Spuds and Villa. In another game he was brought on as a sub and taken off again half an hour later.

True but bare in mind Yoshida had played 90 minutes against one of the best attacking teams in the world in their own back yard. He had a tough game, the game was lost and he was probably knackered. Jo had fresh legs, a point to prove and was fighting for a place in the squad. Yoshi's positioning and movement was okay, Jo just had an extra yard of pace on him.

Boring, pedantic post alert - 'Yoshida' looks way better on the back of a shirt than 'Maya'. Not a fan of having first names and nicknames on the back. Same with 'Gaston' Ramirez.

Looking for a specifically left footed player and ruling out 80% of your potential targets is how you end up with Dan Seaborne. Even the Exeter fans thought he was average.

Only if it's violent conduct. 2 yellows is a 1 match ban, as is a straight red for a professional foul. I'm not sure how the punishments stack up for repeat offences but I doubt he will be sent off 3 times again next year.

Welcome to Saints Dejan. Let's hope the concerns about his form last year come to nothing but I very much doubt we'd have spent £8m on a player without some being sure he had considerable talent. I'd say Jos' days are probably numbered and I wouldn't be surprised if he has been told he can look for a new club. That would leave us with 4 decent options at CB I think. Top priority for me now has to be a striker as there are only 2 options on the books I am happy with.

None of those were first team regulars. They just did a mediocre to poor job of filling in when the old farts like Dodd and lundekvam got injured. The team now is different, we've built a team around Cork and Morgan. Lallana, JRod, Shaw, Gaston and Clyne are all first team regulars too.

Seems a bit of a no brainer to me. Having three small cameras, facing front, rear and at the driver would prevent a lot of false insurance claims. Being able to conclusively prove what happened, who was driving, wearing the seat belt and also recording what speed they were going. Surely the cost of fitting such a system would be easily offset by cheaper insurance premiums.
