I had a wicked idea the other day. You know our nickname is 'The Saints' right, well we could sing that 'Oh when the Saints go matching in' song to support our players at games. Thoughts?

It's just horrible to watch, but I just can't help myself. At 0:40, there is a secondary collision. 2 white cars and 2 red cars getting together on the left and 2 black cars run in to the back of them. Dan is in the second black car.

Truly appaling crash. I wont embed this picture because it really is horrific and some people might not want to look at it. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/10/17/article-0-0E67AD7000000578-967_634x371.jpg (What's left of) Dan's car is impacting the fence on fire, top left. RIP. I don't follow Indy, but he is one of half a dosen drivers I knew of.

RIP Dan. A truly horrible accident. There's a video of it below, will probably get removed before long but I warn you it's not very nice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcAZ7I_lk7M

Another game going our way this afternoon, Brum are beating Leicester and Mills has been sent off (violent conduct, 2 footed lunge, 3 match ban). Should aid our cause a bit if it stays like that.

Derby's goal certainly looked offside on the replays. Lambert's on the other hand... looks better every time you watch it.

Jos is on loan until January, but would you try and keep him beyond that? Personally I've been quite impressed. He had a very shaky debut against Forest, but since then has looked a lot more assured on the ball and dominant in the air. Playing much better than Fonte at this level IMO. I'd certainly try and keep him till the end of the season, probably a loan extension. If we do get promotion we might want to reconsider, but for now he is a decent player.

I thought we played the better stuff for most of the game, but were pretty even when it came to creating chances. We played some excellent build stuff, but seemed to lack that killer ball most of the time. Lambert and Hoover were both excellent, winning everything in the air. Most of Derby's chances came from lobbing it over the back and hoping to get a corner. After the goal, they really didn't get up to much. Their corner delivery was decent, and there was one heart stopping game of pinball in our box second half, with some desperate lunges keeping them out. Other than that... hmmm. Saints best chances mostly involved Lambert. One which was very similar to his goal, but he couldn't keep his balance. Another in injury time, when a defender was all over him in the box, then fell over and somehow they got the free kick whilst Rickie got booked for kicking the ball away when he shot. There was also a decent cross from The Riddle, which Rickie headed back accross from the far post, right under the feet of Harding and Hammond (I think). If only one of them had delayed their run a couple of seconds, an easy tap in. Overall, it was a decent game, a good result and good enough performance, considering 2 of our best players are injured. Player Ratings: Davis - 7 - Good save right before their goal, nothing he could do about the rebound (Robinson shouldn't have got their first). Richardson - 7 - A decent enough performance, didn't see him get injured, but guessing that's the case. Fonte - 6 Didn't really look composed, but had to deal with a fair few long balls. Hooiveld - 8 - Dominant in the air and reliable on the ground. I'd take him off Celtic permanently if he can keep this up. Fox - 7 - Supported pretty well down the left and defended pretty well Guly - 6 - One of him better away games, but I'm still not convinced. Morgan - 6 - Gave the ball away carelessly a few times, not his best game. Cork - 8 - The midfield lost it's edge when he got moved out to RB. Chaplow - 7 - Had a fairly good game. If it was a tactical sub, I'd have brought Guly off for SDR instead. Connolly - 6 - "Best striker outside the Prem when fit"... er no. Didn't give the ball away as carelessly as he has previously, but didn't look very effective. Lambert - 9 - MOTM. Immense. Great build up play and a very good finish for the goal. Subs: De Ridder - 7 - Very good on the ball. Only one decent delivery of note. I'd like to see him skin a player more and go down the wing, instead of cutting inside. Hammond - 6 - We were less effective with him in midfield.

Why is the dog smiling?

I've got a plan to teach my dog to swallow semen. It's coming on a treat.

He is dreadful. Hope this helps.

Nope. I was working last Saturday and missed the Watford game. I've got this Saturday off and it feels completely wasted. Appart from the F1 I'm bored off my tits.

Saints - Probably the least amount of column inches of any top team ever!
Lighthouse replied to theyin's topic in The Saints
Why would anyone actually care how much is written about Saints in the papers? For me going to a game and reading people's opinions on here is sufficient. I can live without reading some badly informed half page article from a lazy journalist who probably wasn't even at the game and get's most of his material from websites like this anyway. -
He was drunk and probably meant to say, "I'm likely to sing"

On the other hand... The UK did deals with Gadaffi recently and hardly has a clean history when it comes to human rights. America has huge problems with racism. Women, homosexuals and various minorities are oppressed in many other arab states. China... etc. I don't think there's any country on Earth which can really point the finger at the UAE.

I know it get's up into the 40s there in the height of summer. I'd have an air conditioned appartment, car and the heat wont be a problem at work either so it's not a massive turn off. I've been told by a friend already out there that alcohol isn't really much of an issue. Being drunk in public is frowned upon and I know there are massive prison sentences for drug use. On the other hand I've heard there are loads of great bars out there. Regarding slavery... I don't like it, but I can live with it and the workers do chose to go there, in spite of the conditions.

Not been offered anything yet. Thinking of applying for a possition, which I'd stick in the "managers" bracket. The job is awesome, that's not the issues. It's the "could I live in Dubai" issue that I'm interested in.

If he'd scored against Aston Villa and got a Hat trick against Rotherham, I doubt people would be quite so excited. For some reason I can't seem to fathom, foreign sh*t teams are (apparently) better than English sh*t teams. Not knocking him, I don't begrudge him his move and wish him all the best, but lets not get too excited. £12m is a lot of money and spening £100m on Jermaine Wright wouldn't make Chamberlain any better.

Considering an employment opportunity out in Dubai and I know we have a couple of posters on here who live out there (I'll take a guess at "Dubai Phil" for one). Just wondering what it's like to live out there. I know it's an awesome holiday with great weather, beaches etc. but what's the actual day to day life like when the honeymoon period wears off? What are the things you like most about being out there and what are the things you miss the most? What problems can you foresee for a munchkin like me who's never lived out there, aside from the obvious not being able to go to Saints games?

We won at Reading under Poortaloo and I nigh on froze my tits off. I also went to Leeds under Pardew and froze my nads off as well, leaving me completely A sexual and somewhat unconvinced by my findings.

I was waiting at the customer service desk at East Midlands Airport once, behind a Northern woman and her elderly mother. After 5 minutes of arguing with the girl on the desk, they turned around, the daughter phoned up one of her relatives and said in a loud Lancashire accent, "they wont let mam on't plane with 'er bus pass!" Made me laugh anyway.

I think she's always been a bit 'Ronseal' TBH.

He cannot be prosecuted, that's the point. Capturing him alive in Yemen is highly unlikely for a start. Sending a drone up to fire a missle through his French windows is one thing, sending in a crack team of special forces is quite another. If AAA was on the move, as many terrorists are, the chance to get him could well have been lost. Ignoring all of that and assuming AAA surrendered to US force and was flown safely to the US, he just wouldn't get a fair trial. As I said, the jury wouldn't be able to see most of the evidence and the jury is likely to be highly biased in their judgement. This is a country with Pastor Terry Jones and his clan of Quran burners. A high profile Islamic fundamentalist would be found guilty before he got off the plane.
-
Aside from the logistics of extracting a man from Yemen for trial in the US, that trial would be a farce. For a start most of the evidence against him would be top secret and US intelligence would be compromised if it and it's sources was leaked to the public. Imagine that in court. "Next up the trial of Anwar al-Awlaki... oh there isn't any evidence we can put forward... okay you're free to go and live in a beach house in Miami"
