From player to manager this experience is going to be very helpful. He has played at every level in all tournaments and managed in the CL and Europa regularly at previous clubs. If any stat folk can elaborate on his experience/success (me being too lazy) that would be useful. Teams that have struggled for league form have often had managers with no or little previous experience to the European competitions which appears to have impacted their league form. For once Sky have picked the right fixtures. They have not shown a single relegation battle game I can think of unless they have played one of the big teams. Sunderland v Leicester and QPR v Newcastle were not picked and West Brom v Chelsea (meaningless game) and Liverpool v Palace were.

Fantastic news in what has been a pretty poor period in the season. Whether we see or not this season he'll have a pre-season to get up to match fitness and hopefully be ready come first game next season. Really is like signing a £20m signing!

Top post. Totally agree with the comments about teams working us out. Our possession is good up to the final third where teams do cut the supply. This is why we need a true number 10 to play. I would like to see the Schneiderlin money (presuming he is sold) go towards this player. Reed is adequate cover and I sometimes question why we always need two CDMs playing.

Hard to disagree with this. If we had a fit Rodriguez this year we would have a few more points. The summer we need to focus primarily on spicing up our attacking options. Preferably with some domesticated players.

A must win going into City away. Lose and we risk finishing 1 point better than last year. Villa are playing well but were hanging on against West Ham second half. Expect them to play with pace on the counter like Palace in the FA cup. Pelle needs to pull his finger out and Davis back on goal. Would drop Elia for one of the youngsters but doubt that'll happen.
