With European games (provided we make the groups stages!) are going to mean utilising the whole squad giving more opportunities for young players to break through. We will definitely see more of Reed and Targett. I think Hesketh, Seagar and Gallagher will get opportunities as late subs and league cup games. Any players who may make their full first team debut? Slattery perhaps? Know very little about him mind only that he is 16. Could he set a Saints record if he played?

From player to manager this experience is going to be very helpful. He has played at every level in all tournaments and managed in the CL and Europa regularly at previous clubs. If any stat folk can elaborate on his experience/success (me being too lazy) that would be useful. Teams that have struggled for league form have often had managers with no or little previous experience to the European competitions which appears to have impacted their league form. Fantastic news in what has been a pretty poor period in the season. Whether we see or not this season he'll have a pre-season to get up to match fitness and hopefully be ready come first game next season. Really is like signing a £20m signing!

Top post. Totally agree with the comments about teams working us out. Our possession is good up to the final third where teams do cut the supply. This is why we need a true number 10 to play. I would like to see the Schneiderlin money (presuming he is sold) go towards this player. Reed is adequate cover and I sometimes question why we always need two CDMs playing.
