We are above that dirty treacherous argie k9 and Arsenal. And currently liverhampton. Have to do overtime shift tonight having to give up tickets today as a result, at least saint's have cheered me up a bit, especially as I'm going with a cocky arse fan Played that at walking pace.... Literally laughable. There is some real dog sh1te in the league this season.. And we are looking every bit a top 8 team as it stands.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29163124 Southampton: Steven Davis says transfer window "unbelievable" Southampton midfielder Steven Davis says the players are now fully focused after an "unbelievable" transfer window. The likes of Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana all left this summer but eight replacements were brought in. They included the deadline day arrivals of Sadio Mane and Toby Alderweireld. "It's been an unbelievable transfer window, I don't think anyone could foresee what was going to happen," Davis, 29, told BBC Radio Solent. "From outside there were questions marks about the direction of the club, especially as we lost a number of top performers from last season. "To be fair to the board, the manager has been backed and it's been a good transfer window for us. "We just want to settle down and concentrate on our football and win some games," he added. Along with Mane and Alderweireld, Southampton also recruited Graziono Pelle, Dusan Tadic and Shane Long. Davis says he is optimistic about the future. "With another couple of additions the squad is looking really strong now," he added. Artur Boruc was expected to leave Southampton this summer but is still at the club "There is competition for places and you have to be right bang at it to stay in the team and that can only be good." Boss Ronald Koeman, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino in the summer, admitted it was a challenge to reshape his squad in a short space of time. "It was a strange summer because we had changes but now we know our squad," he said. Koeman says goalkeeper Artur Boruc, who was expected to to leave St. Mary's this summer, must now focus on trying to win his place back after losing his spot to Fraser Forster. "I spoke to Artur and the best situation for everybody was if he played in another team," said Koeman. "That was not a possibility for him and he is a player of Southampton and has to bring the spirit to the team and maybe I will change."

Tables are very confusing, scroll down to the "Arrest by club supported and type of offence" and poopey have more than us Obviously most of their hardcore fans have given up supporting them so have avoided the banning orders all together, those that are left are busy obtaining more arrests for violent conduct and public disorder...

There is already a thread on this, as said it is unlikely and certainly not worthy of two threads! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51735-Mejdi-Traoui

We are being linked with 30year old Mejdi Traoui by club call. Free agent with 60 caps for Tunisia, plays in midfield. Read more at: https://www.clubcall.com/southampton/tunisian-ace-interests-saints-1739611.html Interesting, but seems a strange purchase.

No we don't...

It is my understanding that she does.... Which made it all the more outrageous that people were doing it. I for one like her, as I posted several times over the summer, she was coming to games in 2010 and bringing her nephew/son with her so she clearly has an interest and care. The summer was testing for sure. Looks like we have come through it and the fans can now look to trust her, the family and the board. Onwards and upwards. Plus Koeman is a beast!

Can I be clear, you want people who doubted the direction of the club at this point to apologise? Or you want people who used personal insults against the board and in particular Kat to apologise? Don't think you should be expecting the former (vast majority of the fan base) to apologise, very legitimate concerns were held at that time and it was the destruction of the past 5 years of the clubs history, and looked for all the while like the first team was being dismantled whilst the board sat there and lied through their teeth. I wonder, if we had been demoted to a couple of leagues how much flack the "trust the board blindly brigade" would have kopped for dream walking the club into the abyss. Much like the flack we gave pompey for being oblivious to their financial ruin. The club's fans are its soul, heart and conscience, and they have a duty to question and observe everything imho, they are then able to ride both the ups and downs. If you can't do that, and you don't withstand and understand the downs then you won't enjoy the ups. And regardless what people say, this summer was a very shaky period for the club, first team being dismantled why the board lied through their teeth. That said, they have turned it around now, and credit is due for that. I don't particularity think that any side owes anyone apology for the above, simply a case of the board and fans having to trust and understand each other to build a better club... after this summer I would expect the club to be stronger as a whole. As for the people who hurled personal insults and Kat, the family and the board. On the one hand I can accept their passion got the best of them, but they do look foolish and premature now, and apologies should be offered. Doubt you will see them either. Still waiting for Saint Richmond to resign from the forum, since Morgan and Jayrod are still at the club.... and he got baited into making that bet with another poster on deadline day.... That won't happen either.

I'm not convinced that is a fair stick to beat the man wtih... Take his "6-7 goals a season" at £12m, that is £2m per goal.... Luis Suarez score 31 in the league last season £75m at £2.41m per goal. Shall we compare wages on top of that.... So basically, on the criteria of goal scoring, Shane long is better value for money than Luis Suarez... Add to that the fact that Suarez played in a far better team relative to the opposition when compared to Long, and that Suarez had better players assisting him and distracting defenders.... If you put Long in that Liverpool side then he would be even better value for money than Suarez rofl

Classic that they've been out mucled by a former non-league firm... Their "hardcore" support must have... hmmm.... left(?) during the decline.... But theya re the bestest! "I was walking up goldsmith before the game and saw the Newport lot being escorted by the police and it started to get a bit hectic. Quickly did a u-turn and ran into the ground for safely. What happened after the game? Bunch of morons if you ask me." "Unfortunately their mentality is 20 years behind most other clubs these days. I hope they get the justice they deserve." "Last season I remember they necessitated a big police presence and it was the nastiest atmosphere coming out of the ground all season. Now I read, predictably, their fans were involved again in isolated incidents. Both teams need to exit this league- us to higher echelons, they back to Wales." Bless them trololol

Telegraph are reporting both Tony and Mane as signed... Off to bed

This kid looks good, and only 22... Allowing myself to be excited about this one! His pace and power, not to mention tricks make him a dangerous player.
-
Enough negativity and bed wetting! That is all! Enough knocking of Pelle, enough grumbling about the team being weaker and distress about transfers. Morgan (mr non-committed) has just banged in 2 goals, the team is showing great sides of progress, Pelle is looking like class (what good a goal does ey) and that means you can't slag off all Italian imports - you know who you are!!! Plus, and for the first time in ages we've owned BFS away. Great day!

I thought he got injured for a spell towards the end of last season? Either way, he is one for the future, he's been a star for the development teams for the last few seasons. Can't see that he can excel at that level and not at least reach prem standard considering the other players we've brought through. Ultimately he is a winger, and whilst it is easier to adapt at that level, Poch's game would not have suited him.
-
Why don't we give Omar Rowe a go ffs, he has been quality for the U21's for the last 2 seasons. Been patiently awaiting his arrival and it never seems to arrive. We aren't going to qualify for europe, I don't think we'll get relegated (perhaps to early to be sure) so I think we should just blood the exciting youngsters... josh sims, rowe, sinclair etc etc. We need wide men, we have them in abundance in the development and u18 squads. Bloody pick them. I'd far rather develop from those 3 than waste £10m on Redmond to be a squad player.

Curious, are you saying that only fans who make the effort to go to away games aren't morons and are allowed an opinion on football? Everyone else is a moron... Good job calling the majority of our fans morons, all in your humble opinion of course. Funnily enough I went to the last home game, and was saying that Pelle needs to be more aggressive when challenging for the ball rather than waiting for it to come to him. Following the match Koeman says the same thing... Does that make me a moron (because I have only been to home games this season? And does it make Koeman a moron as he shares my oppinion, albeit he took slightly longer to realise it ) I also think Pelle is rather good, based on his reports from Holland, all round control and finishing... whether he translates that to the prem will of course be the test and an interesting one. Good job insulting the majority of the fanbase, good luck with that one

How to you produce that within 1min of it being posted that Warnock is manager.... You are an odd character MLG I have to say! Always impressive and informative. But odd none the less.
-
Wasn't it his saved effort that was pushed behind for the corner we scored from... which was a very good save by all accounts? The less you listen to people like Paul Jewell the more you will ultimately learn about the beautiful game.

For the good of football, the plundering of players should be stopped
Saint86 replied to Professor's topic in The Saints
Have you looked at the united line up for that match... I would struggle to pick a weaker 11, our u21's would have given them a game. -
Duplicate thread claim lodged therefore *locked*

And yet, the players that came out of it with a similar level of acclaim to tadic are Robben, van persi, suarez, ruud van nistelrooy etc etc etc... Hopefully we can add Pelle to that list

They must have lifted that straight off our forum in the past 36hours as I've seen it said on here somewhere!
