  1. http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2012/sep/21/grant-shapps-posed-web-guru Grant Shapps, the Conservative party chairman, posed as a "multimillion-dollar web marketer" named Michael Green who spoke to reveal the secrets of his trade at a $3,000-a-head internet conference in Las Vegas while he was the Tory party candidate for Welwyn Hatfield. The pictorial evidence of his double life, revealed online by a fellow conference speaker, will pile pressure on Shapps to explain his links to a network of websites which have been blocked by Google for breaching its rules on copyright infringement and encouraging customers to plagiarise content. But at the age of 35, Shapps claimed already to have established "the world's largest internet marketing forum". A few years later while a member of the shadow cabinet, he also had time to run phone lines where for $297 an hour Green would give tips to aspiring entrepreneurs. And so it goes on... My only little contribution: This was his comment to the Wikipedia editor when he was caught using multiple accounts (allegedly) to airbrush his profile: "Earle, you did notice that all of these accounts stopped editing the Grant Shapps biography (or anything else) more than two years ago, right? And that much of the material they removed was biased, poorly sourced and in violation of Wikipedia's own policies? Nobody else cared about it. What's a biography subject to do then?" Clearly he has statesman potential... Can any nutjobs dig up some real dirt?
  2. Huh - I've yet to see much evidence of him having any great talent. I think the Championship is about his level to be honest. Nice to hear him saying something sensible though.
  3. Oh for crying out loud what does that matter. Didn't the mighty Arsenal get whipped something like 8-2 by Man U. at the start of last season? They still qualified for the Champions League. It's just one result. Get over it.
  4. This - he was sooo poor against Arsenal. As soon as he got the ball our attacks broke down because all he ever did was put his head down and run into a dead end.
  5. I'm sorry, but if that statement was put together by a PR company they've done a **** job. He's fooling no-one with that sort of tripe. Not even the fishy few will buy it.

  7. Quite. At times it's scary. On another matter, the Premier League turns me off to be honest. I wouldn't be upset if we got relegated. That said there are plenty of other teams in this league who are no better than us, and I think we've done enough to show that we can stay up. I really hope that Cortese doesn't sack Adkins but if he does life goes on.
  8. Only three of the teams in the bottom half of the league have actually won a game. There's no need to panic yet.
  9. Exactly.
  10. He was the weak link yesterday. Every time he got the ball he seemed to into head down headless chicken mode and almost always lost it.
  11. Many thanks for putting those up - I'll have a butchers this evening :-)
  12. So true - designed by a three-year-old with crayons.
  13. This
  14. I can see that your opinion matters a lot to you but it's not going to count for much with the rest of us unless you tell us why.
  15. That's a really good use of motivational skills if you ask me.
  16. Fonte was our best centre-back in League 1. And he was the weaker half of a good centre-back pairing in the Championship. We got him for 1 million quid from Palace and frankly it shows. He was great for us, but he can't hack it at all at this level. To me it's painfully obvious.
  17. I find it hard to blame Jos for the Man U penalty. That was all Davies' fault. His distribution was terrifyingly bad.
  18. If you're good enough you're old enough surely. He can only benefit from that sort of an experience.
  19. What makes you think that? Stranger things have happened. Cortese doesn't strike me as the sort of person to care what other people think. If he gets it into his head that Bagpuss is the best man for the job then Bagpuss will get the job.
  20. A really good article that captured many memories of mine. Well worth a read.
  21. Stop confirming my prejudices.
  22. Sounds like you win all your arguments you hero.
  23. Do you seriously think doing that was classy? To some guy you'd never met? Just because of the football team he supports?
  24. I never thought Bart was any good - and he certainly wasn't lauded in the media like Butland.
