If you were looking for a new job - and new you were a marketable commodity wouldn't you want a little time to think about a job offer? Especially if it meant moving house?
What everyone seems to forget is that these young men are being asked to make important decisions about the future direction of their career. It's not like picking something up in the supermarket. The guy probably wants some time to think about it and weigh up his options; understandably.
Before he was third in line for a central midfield berth. Now he's fourth in line. We signed him for three years because it was felt he was Championship standard and would still have a role to play. That may not be the case anymore.
I don't disagree at all. He was our weakest link in the latter stages of the season (when he got a game) and gave the ball away far too cheaply. He doesn't belong in a team that tries to play tappy tappy football - certainly not at Premier League level.
