  1. to look at from Rasiaks perspective, we got relegated and he is blameless (he wasn't allowed to stay and help out) so why should he be 'punished' by having to play in league 1. There is zero chance he'll want to stay with us, which makes the rest of it merely academic. Yes he'd be quality in league 1 but he won't stay. James Scowcroft has been released by Palace though..... he's the 'type' of player we need
  2. a consortium of Michael, Tito and Janet Jackson, they're going to knock down the gasometers and build a big fair ground next to St Mary's and hold Jackson only concerts in the stadium to generate an extra £25 revenue over the next 10 years. You heard it here first... and, quite possibly, last.
  3. Olivier Bernard is alone a good enough reason for 'Arry to carry the can as far as I am concerned. That any saints fan would let this odious man off the hook is beyond me, not playing Phillips away to West Brom, leaving Redknapp junior on the pitch and allowing Solano to muder us second half at home to Villa (from 2-0 up at half-time) he asked for players and got them all and then said it wasn't his fault... the man is a class A tunc and I sincerely hope Karma is storing it all up for him.
  4. I couldn't care less who made what investment or who made what mistake or who signed who on a ridiculous contract. I want rid of anyone associated with the complete farce this club has become in the last few years and Crouch must take his fair share of the 'he said, she said' blame game that has proved so divisive recently. I want the new chairman to be one of two things: A) a figure who sits in the background and keeps his mouth shut, letting the football team manager have control of footballing matters and the like. or B) if we are to have a chairman who wants to be a figure head for the club then can we not have someone who is versed in PR, who is a logical, reasoned and respected personality. IMHO Crouch is neither of the above and whilst he is to be applauded for his passion and for getting stuck in to raise money, neither of these aspect necessarily make him a good chairman.
  5. trying to be as constructive as possible here.... but fan ownership of saints would be nothing short of disastrous, it'd be like herding cats. I'd sooner have Lowe back... and I'd HATE to have Lowe back
  6. define 'failed' please?
  7. Seriously if people are going to be hanging onto the past and slinging blame around for our relegation then a LARGE slice of that blame should go in his direction. For the missed sitter away to West Brom and for his ridiculous sending off and subsequent banning during the crucial run in. He's all effort no ability, having said that he might well be very good in league 1, but do we really need to go back there? Like you said initially though, we can't possibly be looking at signing players, unless they are out of contracts.
  8. No offence and I know we are talking a division below, but I thought Savage was complete toss against us earlier in the season, our short, young midfield played through him like he wasn't there and but for better finishing (story of our season) we'd have done them. I'd rather try really hard to keep Gillet who was playing very well until injury (and I would argue that our recent poor run has coincided with his injury) than sign someone like Savage. At least the likes of Thomson, White and Paterson all have recent league 1 experience, which will be invaluable next season. Someone like Deon Burton would be the kind of player I'd want or Windass... or promising youngsters from league 2 or lower league 1.
  9. Good work GM, as someone who has often not seen eye to eye with you in the past I fully endorse the sentiments behind your post. I think until today I had clung on to some hope of survival but today has knocked that on the head and finally letting go has been something of an epiphany... I am feeling good about the future, (possibly helped by me being mid-workout, to the sounds of 'Generation Terrorists' and with a few cold beers waiting for me in the fridge). All we can hope for next season is that we still exist as a club, anything above that (not being docked points, instant promotion) would be bonuses. We've been to the edge, we've looked over and fates be willing we will come out the other side better for it. Here's to clean slates and to a positive future...
  10. raking over embers are we eh?
  11. Amen to all of that. What's done is done and no amount of blaming and shaming is going to change the past. Now is the perfect chance for us to draw a line under all the crap and to move forward as one united club from the fans through the players to the (hopefully) new owners, whatever league we find ourselves in next season. And yet on here there are still accusations and recriminations, give it up people. I don't care whose fault it all was, it's what we do next that matters and certainly if I was a prospective future owner doing a bit of desktop research on here (it really isn't hard for them to do) I don't think the stuff on here would be selling the club to me right now, and I'd wonder if I might be better off sinking my money into a hole in the ground the end result would probably be the same and it'd be without all the grief from a bunch of fans who need their expectations managing down somewhat.
  12. I presume there was also **** all chance of us staying up last season also? It will be a struggle to stay up, but to write us off when there is so much to play for is pessimistic for even you 'Mr Glass is not only half full but half full of **** and vomit FFS,'
  13. firstly none of know how close we are to admin or what plans are in place should we be relegated so none of us can say whether this decision really was 'crass' (that won't stop people using hindsight in future though). Secondly, if Administration was the 'panacea' or 'get out of jail free card' that people on here seem to think it is why do so many companies strive so hard to avoid it?
  14. If anyone can point to any factual inaccuracies in Wotte's statement I'd be very grateful, as far as I'm concerned he's just described a 'football supporter' I can accept that his statement might be a little bit close to home for some/many on here. FWIW the song goes: 'Southampton til I die' not 'Southampton til I die, or until a bit of a ****tish chairman comes along who I don't like in which case I'll stop going and then maybe I'll start going again if he leaves... but only if I like the new bloke more'
  15. never mind all that, Surman was bobbins and yet started the second half... whereas Schneiderlin was tidy enough in the first half, if not spectacular and he was subbed at half time.... go figure!!
  16. made a meal of it... phnah!! It did strike me at the time that some little tit had obviously had a go, there was a bit of pushing and shoving and that was it. The Echo (given to hyping things up to the max) could only say he had some grazing and got chinese takeaway down his front.... oh noes!!
  17. so it was a bad thing the club tried to run this player out of the club? The same player who everyone HATED last year, if he HAD been run out of the club everyone would be saying he was ****e and good riddance. But now the fact that he has turned it around is another stick to beat the club with? You can't have it all ways. FWIW, I've said since the beginning that we should be playing him up front, finally one of our 'managers/coaches' has seen fit to play him there and the decision is paying dividends in that euell is playing well and it seems to have lifted the burden from McG's shoulders. Long may it continue.
  18. FFS Must everything always be reduced to 'he's ****' all the time? He's how old? and this WAS his first start. We've already turned on Lallana so is the plan to now slate players before they've even played a game... Maybe you should look through the U18 squad listing and pick some of them to slag off? Get your pre-emptive strike in, then when they fail to do anything you can be proud to say that you knew they were crap before they even played. Perhaps you could go one further and scout around the local tyro leagues so you can spot any potential players to slag off before we even offer them a trial?
  19. I'm not convinced Wotte is the right choice either I just think it strange that it should be seen as ridiculous that we should support our new manager. Right appointment or not it's not his fault he was offered the job. So we SHOULD support him regardless of who hired him.
  20. can I just say how generally amusing I find it that on the one hand Lowe is lambasted for going through xx managers in xx years and yet after 3 (three) games people want the manager out again... and then if it were to happen then it would be another mark in the 'against' column for Lowe. Talk about damned if you do damned if you don't. He is a condescending patronising twonk but is it any wonder he holds the fans in such obvious disdain since the vast majority of us run around chasing our tails and demanding "whatever the poster before me said"?
  21. 3-2 Saints with Stern getting a brace then getting sent off, Saga to score the other...... or something like that. What a waste of my last post of the day.... sheeesh.
  22. this club lurches from one extreme to another. We had too much 'long-term at the expense of the short-term' thinking from Lowe, followed by an outbreak of Myopia from the fans and then from Wilde and Crouch. We were told at the time that Wilde and Crouch didn't have the financial clout to make a difference, they fed us a load of old bull about bringing in investors. We fell for it hook line and sinker. We HAVE been lied to, a lot, but while there is evidence to support the fact that Crouch and Wilde have lied there is less in support of Lowe lying to us. We need to think really carefully before we attempt to hound Lowe out once again, where is the rich benefactor going to come from in the midst of a global recession? I wanted Lowe out and Wilde and Crouch in... I was wrong. Now I want Lowe, Wilde AND Crouch out... as soon as, but not if means things get worse. 'Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.'
  23. Maybe this is the reason he lives in Austria, don't they have legalised euthanasia over there?
  24. I have no idea, I'd guess Swansea are paying us a fair bit of money for the loan and didn't want to risk losing Dyer at any moment so would have stipulated no recall. Since we can't seem to shift our dead wood it would appear we had little other option at the time. It might be because Lowe is totally incompetent (that does seem to be the default assumption on here).
