Brilliant news. It seems like the club are taking real steps to keep the core of the team together. Hopefully worst case scenario this summer we loose Mane and Wanyama, replace them, and that's the end of it.

Koeman has stated time and time again that he has a contract with Southampton and means to see it out. Plus why move to Everton? Sideways step these days and other than a slightly increased transfer budget, I don't think they've got much more to offer than we have.

I work 10 meters away from where this was taken... Need to keep more of an eye out! Batra would be an outstanding signing for us. I still reckon Jose has got another season (maybe even 2) in him though.

Utd are a mess at the moment and have a huge amount of work to do if they want to seriously consider a title challenge. By my count they need a new RB, CB, CDM, LW, RW, ST and possibly a new goalkeeper if De Gea goes. That's likely to be around 150mil worth of players, possibly more. I can see Mane going there in the summer for big money...

Very happy with Stek as backup but failing that I'd also be fine with Gazza stepping up. Having watched him in a few under 21's highlights recently, he's pulled off some outstanding saves and his distribution is still top class. There's a great goalkeeper in there somewhere. I think it all comes down to confidence with Gazzaniga and putting our faith in him in cup games and having him on the bench would go a long way to getting the best out of him.

Van Der Wiel looks to be exactly the type of player we'd go for at the moment. Would be at the top end of our wage cap though.

I honestly don't think he's good enough as a LB. His best games have been when we play 5 at the back and he's been relieved of most of the defensive duties. Occasionally he's chipped in with some great crosses but he just seems very unexceptional most of the time. Bertrand is easily the superior player. Perhaps Targett could go the way of Bale and end up playing a more attacking role?

I'll be very sorry to see him go. He's been an absolute beast for us at times and I can't remember him really ever being muscled off the ball. Although there's been rumors in the past of him refusing to play etc, I suspect it's more a case of a nice bloke being lead astray by his agent claiming they know what's best for him. Also, great song.

He's not dreadful, but isn't the standard we need. RB should be a priority for strengthening in the summer.

I wouldn't want either of them at Saints despite their ability. When fully fit I reckon we're good in the Striker position with 4 decent options (5 including Mane) and all with different attributes. If Newcastle go down then I'd love us to put an offer in for Wijnaldum. Likewise with Khazri if Sunderland go.

I suspect you'll be absolutely on the money with that line up. Rooney, Carrick, Cahill, Henderson, and Milner shouldn't be anywhere near the first 11 based on their recent performances. My line up would be... Hart Clyne, Stones, Smalling, Bertrand Dier Alli, Barkley, Sterling Kane, Vardy
