  1. Surely the cheating should be down as "making up something in order to sell copies of a book" as it has been proved that the incident could not have taken place as the game was not televised live so , at that time, no bookmaker would have been taking bets on it.
  2. How much would bringing in Keegan cost in today's money?
  3. One promotion to the top flight, one relegation from it and one FA Cup all at an unfashionable club. He was yesteryears Harry Redknapp.
  4. I think it is actually the opposite of that. Far from the defence making him look good, the most noticeable aspect of Schmiechel's keeping that he was immense in a one on one situation. If a striker was bearing down on goal with just him to beat, even one of the best of the time like Fowler, you actually felt it more likely that he would make the save than the striker scoring.
  5. No you're right he was rubbish... Taibi then.
  6. Schmeichel by a country mile.......
  7. Only in Australia could they have bunch of blokes in shorts 3 sizes too small, running around a cricket pitch booting a rugby ball about and call it football.....
  8. I see that Folly played! I thought he looked a decent player for us in the Prem but never came close to living up to his potential. (same as can be said for Griffit.)
  9. One that has Crouch and Jones? On current form I would struggle to pick BT over those two.
  10. How many years of Jones did we have to endure to get to Niemi tho! In any case, he might have been a better keeper than Taylor but he was far more injury prone! I don't think we would have done much worse in the WGS era if we had Taylor in goal.
  11. What a bad move it was bringing in Paul Jones when we had Maik Taylor! Jones is long since retired and Taylor is still plying his trade in the Prem!
  12. Given the lack of appearances Murty and Gillet will be getting they could have at least thrown in a free Pulis as part of the deal!
  13. Fabrice Fernandes?
  14. Pards really doesn't rate Holmes does he!! Also, after the shambles of a sub appearance that Mills gave against Rovers on Tuesday I think it might be a while before we see him in first team action again!
  15. I feel very sorry for them if they are relying on you to keep their spirits up!
  16. I would say the opposite. How long did Lee Hughes get for being drunk and/or on drugs killing someone on the road and then fleeing the scene and going on the run for a day? There was a case in my local paper last month about a Sunday league player who after the game punched a player from the other team so hard that an artery in his neck has severed and he died. He pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was given a two year sentence. I don't drink drive and have never physically assaulted anyone and I'm sure that is same for most on here but can we all say that none of us have ever temporarily lost control of a car when fiddling with the radio. Yes he shouldn't have done it and someone did die but I can't see what good sentencing him to that length of sentence will do.
  17. closer, but not as amusing......
  18. It's a Russian women......
  19. Took a Rovers supporting mate to the game last night who told me Kuffor's song is: (to the tune of Que Sera Sera) Jo Kuffor, Kuffor He's only Four foot Four His c ock drags on the floor Jo Kuffor, Kuffor Made me chuckle....
  20. Is this confirmed? All the papers seem to be giving it to Waigo? Lambert's header was clearly over the line but from what I saw the Linesman did not signal a goal and the ref did not blow his whistle until Waigo bundled it in. At half-time in the concourse Ladbrokes were offering 4-1 on Lambert as next goalscorer so would have been gutted if I had put some cash on it as I'm sure they would not have paid out!!!
  21. I did think the same when he side footed his shot at goal straight to the keeper rather than burying it. I took a Rovers supporting mate to the game and his opinion was that Lamber looked fitter than when he was at Rovers but was not in the game as much due to not being given any service at all from out wide. At Rovers he was the focus of all attacks and was given bucketloads of crosses to attack from their decent wingers. In fairness I wouldn't blame the lad if he was regretting the move. It seems he may have been dazzled by a nice shiny stadium. He has left a team with good wingers, at the top end of the table with a decent chance of gaining promotion and one of the best young managers in the English game, to a team with no wingers, a decent chance of relegation to the lowest level of league football and a manager still trading of two decent seasons a couple of clubs back in the rapidlly fading past.....
  22. What is known in the trade as 'a Sol Campbell'.......
  23. Does it matter as long as we get to the bottom about why he has been absent?
  24. Someone on TUI forum said he was on holiday in the Norfolk broads.....
