or maybe it is you that is suffering from a case of selective memory (writers block?) PM sent from Fizthugh Fella to Once_Bitterne 26/06/07 07:57pm have got to be really careful here but what I heard (from someone who until recently was high up on the medical side of things at the club) was Burley had some very strange ideas. Apparently he has (at some considerable expense) appointed a group of Scottish women to appraise the players fitness/health by using hair analysis techniques. He is very much into alternative medicine. Nothing wrong with that my informant says but Burley is very zealous about it. An example - Burley believes when people have cancer it is not the cancer that kills them but the chemo! My "friend" fell out with Burley over this and realised he could not work any more with him. This guy is a very well respected professional local sports consultant and a Saints fan. He went on to tell me that Burley is not what he seems. He surrounds himself with with pyscophants and is very much someone who has his favourites. The Echo are aware of all this and are trying to entice my friend to go public but he is reluctant out of what harm it may do the club. He worked for Saints for about 9 years and has much loyalty. Actually I have just realised I have nearly given his identity away so if you realise who it is please say nothing for now. There will be a time and place to reveal all but best hang fire.

Anyone who wants their real identity to be known on an internet message board either needs sectioning or is blatent attention seeker (see Godwin S. and Mumford T.) Sorry that my post yesterday hit a nerve but given your previous I am somewhat cautious with your insessant mentioning of SFC not being our club anymore. You may want to portray the picture of the mild mannered historian but past actions haven't always shown this. While I was def no fan of Burley you were instrumental in the whispering campaign against him. You sent PMs to many (inc myself!) about many ludicrous things like him using a hair examiner (!) on players to check for drug use, being asleep in his car before training and the famous 'Burley was banging on the door of a local pub to be let in at 4am, the landlord told me himself' which all turned out to be untrue so excuse me for being concerned that you aren't begin to view ML with distrust.

According to Chuckles Chorley (him of famed 'Hi, I saw your Mum down the shops' 'here's my mobile number' , "I can't answer your questions as I have to take my girl friend to get her hiar cut' utterances) SISA is no longer a supporters club but is an 'organic pressure group'. I guess that means full of..... Anyone know when his essay on the future of SFC is due out? He promised he was writing it over a year ago....

Back on Soccer Saturday then?

Another thinly veiled attack on the new owners from the Club's Hysterian. I cannot for the life of me think why Duncan never misses an opportunity to get a dig in at ML. From one of the most prominant anti-Lowe brigade I thought he would have been jumping for joy once Lowe was gone but in reality the opposite seems to be the case. The crux of the problem Duncan has with ML which he never tires of telling us is that the club is 'his' and not 'ours' anymore. This would be fine if before ML we were owned by a fan's collective a la Barcelona but is utter b ollox as we were a plc controlled by several large % shareholders. If Duncan really believes that the 0.0000000000000000000000000001% shareholding that some fans held made the club 'theirs' then he is deluded. Before ML it was controlled by Lowe and a couple of others and now it is controlled by one person, in effect no more or no more 'ours' than it ever was. I've come to the conclusion that the only was Duncan will ever be happy with SFC is if we build him a Delorian and set him off back to 1981.......

So, why DID Mark Fry prefer Pinnacle over Liebherr?
once_bitterne replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I think you have answered your own question. The club was literally on the brink of ceasing to exist. The 500k was needed to pay bills and keep it afloat so the administrator did exaclty the right thing to accept the deposit for exclusivity from whomever stumped up the cash first even be it from a Rose West/Gary Glitter consortium. It would have been very interesting to see what had happened if Pinnacle's backers hadn't have pulled out and they had managed to beg, borrow or steal to get the amount needed to buy the club. With KK as manager and MLT as chairman I have a sneaky feeling the 'feelgood' factor may have been even stronger and we wouldn't still be on -ve points. Yes, ML has the billions, but to date he has only paid a transfer fee for a single player and although he has paid good wages for the loans/frees/Out of contracts it is not totally unrealistic to think that Pinancle could have spent a similar amount thanks to the healthy gates we are getting and the fact that whomever the new owner was they would not have to pay a single penny in mortgage payments which was costing us several million £ a year. -
If only Liebherr had been able to take over a few weeks earlier then the first win may have not taken so long to come eh?

Ipswich fans will be breathing a huge sigh of relief.

When I read people's 'ideal starting 11s' on this forum...

As long as he has two legs he will be better than Paterson... -
Forecast should be kept over Bart. He's had a bad run here but is a good keeper and former coach Webster was/is a big fan. We should stick with him.
-
Nah, of course not! It's the NDA I tell you! It was such a tight legal document that it made WGS write positive things about Lowe in his autobiog and it even has a clause that makes WGS and his wife have dinner with Mr and Mrs Lowe a couple of times a year.
-
So he is still saying nice things about Lowe? That non-disclosure agreement he HD on WGS must be very through as SLH doesn't even exist anymore....
-
As much as a genius on the field he does seem to be a bit of a plum of it... Everything he has touched outside of football seems to have gone pair shaped, the niteclub/flap dancing venue, the legends web site, the Pinnacle farce and now this!
-
I guess they think they have more chance of convicting MLT than the Shed robbers....
-
Police now involved!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/8250042.stm He should have kept his mouth shut....

Coppell lined up as Director of Football - online report (or not)
once_bitterne replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
Can't possibly see how it would work as Coppell is a better manager than Pardew... -
Was Brentford manager when he featured in the C4 programme Faking It. Was quite amusing. I think Wally can definately be thought of as 'old school'. This was rumoured at the time AP took over. Surprised it took so long. Maybe PArds feels that he needs some help improving morale and banishing the losing ethos that the club seems to have....
-
Seems like people have been having a pop at Paterson for quite some time... No wonder Navy Red stopped posting after what was said on this thread...
-
He'll do well to, he's Scottish.....

A contact of Nicola's?

4:30pm on a Sunday is a weird time! Is it an international weekend so no Prem games?
-
I think it means in the future, if all three are choosen by their countries, that we will have our game in international week postponed as if you are going to lose 3 or more then the game will not be played.
