  1. i would argue that big spending rarely yields results on the field.
  2. What I am saying is that it is stating the obvious that our strikers are not delivering, I just wish people would put forward credible solutions. These would be in the context of how much we have to spend, the wages we can offer and how they might fit into the dressing room. I personally agree that Che Adams would be a good call but it would be naive to think that we are the only ones that are looking for a silver bullet for our goal scoring shortfalls. That probably pushes the price up to £25-30m and £80K a week. I expect that is still possible but we would likely miss out. You still need back up and either Long or Austin probably fit the bill as second tier strikers.
  3. How much is your budget to rectify the fact that our strikers are average? That is a good starting point when you are assessing your options.
  4. I am the same. He is an entertainer and if handled in the right way could be fantastic for us to watch. My only worry would be whether some of the dressing room had their noses put out by his behaviour.
  5. That is a very bold statement. How much do you think that it would cost to do that? The one player I would argue that you cannot budget for playing regular football is Ings. Long can have a role to play, we looked much better when he was on the field yesterday. As for Austin; he is what he is; reads the game well and you have to look at his goal scoring record - like Ings though you cannot really plan for him to play regularly. Realistically we should be in the market for one striker.
  6. They have sent me a new fine for some reason
  7. I think you need claret to see it.
  8. I am imagining this but is there a spelling mistake on his shirt. https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/17489525.southampton-manager-ralph-hasenhuttl-after-his-sides-2-1-win-over-tottenham/?ref=mr&lp=5 I think he has to wear the shirt every time now
  9. I don't think that it is corruption Turkish, I think it is an inbuilt subconscious fear of scrutiny by big clubs. If Ralph questions a decision the it is a lost in the text but if Klopp implies poor officialdom then it can be headline news. Nothing supports the hypothesis more than Gabbiadini's goal in the cup final.
  10. I would reckon that Cardiff's chances are 2-3 in 10. That makes the odds good value. I am of course a bottle half full pundit!
  11. Standard procedure on here to slag off developing players and then express surprise when players don't want to stay at our club.
  12. We did get beaten by Cardiff recently. I am certainly panicking!
  13. Last night was the first time I have seen us win at home since Bournemouth and before that Everton. My season tickets are just a tax on my sentimentality and I can see why people are voting with their feet.
  14. I hope I get the same response!
  15. Thank you for a rational viewpoint!
  16. What was the email address?
  17. What was concluded on this - should I ignore or respond contesting signage?
  18. Matt - I had the same. I have been parking there for many years and for the Palace game I got a ticket. I was going to contest mine because it was dark and there was no signage. In fairness I have always thought it was odd that we could park there with no repercussions. Now they have made it a non parking zone that will put pressure on parkling. Where do people think we should park now?
  19. Yours is the voice I here outside of the forum. It is not just tedious reading people slagging off our players on here it is embarrassing. I just hope the players don't read some of the comments on here, it can hardly foster affection for our club. Mid-table for me please and a good cup run, blending youth with experience and the occasional glamorous foreign signing to generate a bit of excitement. I salute your post.
  20. Don't be so rational!
