Theresa May and the death of the Tory Party

Not really. I don't like bullies whether they are on the left or the right. -
Theresa May and the death of the Tory Party
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Can you imagine the intimidation she must have felt. Putting posters up all around your flat and the railings up the road. Making abusive gestures at your partner when he says good morning. They were even planning to get a mob of 300 together, one assumes to chant more abuse and like some kind of sixteenth century witch hunt to drive them both out of town. -
Cameron clearly believed that they would be flexible, that would have been based on something. When it came down to it, he was undone by political posturing and arrogance from the EU. Now that we have voted to leave and the EU project has been undermined I believe that they would be more willing to consider a relaxed version of freedom of movement that they can still argue does not compromise their principles. I may of course be wrong but it would swing any new referendum and put the whole Brexit episode behind them. Would that be a price they would be willing to pay.
-
Hook, line and sinker. The one thing that last night showed us was that nothing has changed. Any new referendum would be a knife edge.
-
I would expect them to be more flexible than you would expect.
-
I would recommend that somebody goes to Brussels discreetly and does what Cameron could not achieve and negotiate more relaxed clauses on freedom of movement. The leave vote will provide the added leverage needed. With these won you could justify going to a second referendum because the circumstances have changed. That should give a 45-55 vote in favour of remain.

I have a vested interest but I would politely take issue with the ability to rear animals humanely. There will always be some variance between people who work in the industry and those that are disconnected because they deal with livestock day in and day out and inevitably are less sensitive in their treatment of animals but it is counter productive for a farmer to not rear his livestock humanely; stressed animals are simply not productive. There are also premiums for schemes like red tractor and freedom foods which require regular vet inspections and a plethora of regulations in place to safeguard good practice. Your average farmer takes a huge amount of pride in his stock and works constantly to improve it. The closure in the eighties and nineties of local abattoirs is an issue because this added to the travel. Ideally 'home kills' where there is no stress would be a solution but this are outlawed. The meat from animals killed locally actually eats better because they are relaxed at slaughter. Sadly the farming community is not savvy with PR and are losing the argument. If you want to film a bad news story from any farm you can always find one because on a livestock farm you will always have sick animals just like the human population. The biggest enemy is ignorance and it is lazy to just view sensationalist YouTube clips and come to a negative conclusion when if you were genuinely concerned you could make a few telephone calls and somebody will always provide the transparency you sought. Some of us probably eat too much meat but nobody understands diet better than farmers and meat is an invaluable component of our food intake.

Wes Hoedt - Loaned to Antwerp: Official
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Cabbage_Face's topic in The Saints
I am speculating here of course but the fact that he went on loan was that it was him that did not embrace Ralph's new way. -
Especially if we have lost a wicket or conceded a goal and they are supposed to be supporting Hampshire, Saints or England!

Do we ever put in a good performance on the last game of the season when we are safe?

Charlie Austin - Sold to West Brom - 4M
Sergei Gotsmanov replied to Give it to Ron's topic in The Saints
I thought at the open trading he looked sharp and his attitude stood out. -
How very sad. He was an authentic link with an era of supporting Saints I was not around for. RIP Toomer

Last nights open training session at St Marys

I thought Charlie Austin's attitude was spot on. He seemed a good guy to have about the place. -
The problem is when a manager leaves it rips the heart out of the club. The only positive is that it means that managers are more likely to be attracted to the club. I would still argue that a Hodgson or a Pellegrini might provide a longer period of stability. Well Roy is getting on a bit.
-
I was guilty of wanting Hughes because he was unlikely to leave however well he did. i regret that but still think the principle is correct; go for old timers who have enjoyed success at one club left to go to a bigger club and then failed there. Ralph is absolutely fantastic but we all know that come the end of next season, if we continue to progress he will be gone.
-
Logically the only get out clause would be if we got relegated from both ours and his perspective.
-
..... and then gone to Everton?
-
We undoubtedly need a striker but much as I like Danny and Charlie, you simply cannot rely on them to stay fit. If Danny was a washing machine you would write to Watchdog!
-
What is the point of getting rid of a bench striker who has fantastic pace, scores a few goals and is a good guy to have around the club? Can you put forward some suggestions as to who we should sign and how much they would cost?
-
It would be unfortunate if they were.
-
He is currently a back up for injured defenders; that is his current level. I hope he improves but reading some of the comments on here is hardly going to give him the confidence that all good footballers need.
-
The forum boo boys have a new target. Under Puel he had a good run and responded; he even scored a few goals. With encouragement and game time his confidence will grow and he will improve.

Hasenhuttl ...can we criticise him yet...

How many clubs before us had achieved back to back promotions from league one to the premiership?
