  1. Sad new Lord D. I hope that your wife is OK.
  2. A somber assessment. Sometimes people can just make up their minds. Thank Mrs D for her efforts on the front line.
  3. I hope he surprises you Lord D. Your poor wife.
  4. Ditto SaintClarke. Must be very tough.
  5. The conduct of some clubs and their playing staff will amplify the disconnect between them and their fan base. We became customers and not supporters some time ago but the response of some clubs to this crisis exposes just how dreadful the people who run and operate in our sport. Their warped values are exemplified by the decision of some to exploit the furlough initiative, that is designed to moth ball our ailing leisure and other industries that have been decimated by the lock down to enable them to bounce back when this wicked virus has run its course. There seems to be a consensus from the likes of Wayne Rooney and co that it is better to circle their wagons rather than do the right thing. Shame on them.
  6. That is quite extraordinary.
  7. Somebody told me that a week or so ago it cost $3000 to have a test. Even a tenth of that will mean that there will be know rush to be tested.
  8. That was powerful stuff and a good barometer. I hope that things are good now.
  9. Great news.
  10. I never understand why people run down our players. People really do have unrealistic expecations. He is ferociously passionate when he plays for us and is a player probably marginally above our level. Maybe if people got behind him he might stay and give even more.
  11. Good analogy
  12. The older that you are the more likely that you are to vote out. The younger you are the more likely you are to have a degree.
  13. Would be well received!
  14. Scraping two home wins against Norwich and Watford - gave some momentum and 'belief' Danny Ings going on a goal run McCarthy adding some maturity and authority to the defence RH being more conservative in his team choices and strategy having gained too much confidence at the end of last season In my opinion
  15. He is like a vintage car. Oozes style and class but you are just waiting for something to breakdown.
  16. I see the charm that keeps you on the losing side is still intact and maybe I did have to google mercantilism but can you explain why a US trade deal would not potentially make US cars cheaper and EU cars more expensive?
  17. Would price not be a considerable influence?
  18. When I contrast our shouting, scruffy, self entitled students, who hide away from debate in 'safe spaces', with the students in Hong Kong, who are fighting so bravely for what these idiots already take for granted, I cringe.
  19. It is an interesting one this. Would you not think that Boris can now play off the EU and the US against each other. For instance, Trump must know that he can resurrect the fortunes of Detroit simply by getting a favourable deal for US cars. Merkel must be thinking the same thing and worrying about the million cars that they sell into the EU every year.
  20. I am afraid to say - get your money on. It will cushion the blow!
  21. The Internet has delivered change and I would conclude on the whole we were better off without it. Apart from making our high street's redundant it has limited face to face interaction between people. It has amplified our children's anxiety and facilitated inescapable 24 hour bullying. Sadly the genie is out of the bottle and you cannot put it back.
  22. Well he would have fitted in on the mural that Corbyn liked so much. A bigot judges people on their looks, that's what makes them a bigot. There were not many country's over the next hundred years who would have had a leader of such obvious Jewish descent and we should be proud of that. The Tories have consistently been progressive in their choice of leaders. They have delivered two women prime ministers and I think that should Ruth Davidson return to politics it is very realistic that she will be the first LGBT party leader.
  23. He looked every bit a Jew and was still able to reach the pinnacle of the Tory party. However he played his hand, anti Semitism was not a barrier to reaching the top of the Tory party in the Victorian age.
