Well no not really it's not.

Agreed. There is a happy medium involving good performances, youth development, and trusting proven and reliable players at the same time. We just need to find it.

An entertaining WUM is still just a WUM though. He's not missed.

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business
GarrettIvo replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Sure. That's obvious. But if they departed after a season or two would you then go and buy a shirt from their next club? I doubt it. -

Indeed. The ones that follow players and not teams. I'll never understand that. -
Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester

Maya is our most experienced (and best) CB by some disrance. Many here may not relish the fact, but by dint of our recent failings in the CB market, it be so. I'd put my money on him and this Danish bloke running out on opening day. Either as a pairing or part of a three. -
Ridiculous.

Yeah I don't hate last years. Although I bought them once they were incredibly discounted. Also have the red polo from the first UA season. It's quality. Plus the white/yellow top from the season in between Adidas and UA. That was quite decent too. I haven't seen the yellow/blue stuff you're talking about. Where can I find images?

Goes all out surely. Assistant coach of a national side in a WC Final looks pretty good on the CV. From there it's a short trip to a senior role at a decent French side. And then in 2021 he leads Saints to a famous double. Simples.

Never heard of the bloke until last week, but I am 100% certain he's better than Stephens. -
Sanchez might as well have thrown a saddle on Kane's back, that's how hard he was trying to mount him.

It's all very underwhelming. Been a fan of the training gear the past few years, but nothing exciting this season. I'll have to cart my fat arse around in non-Saints gear I guess.
-
I actually find that a little distasteful if true. Sure it's not my money in any sense, and why should I care about Twente. But if there was an arrangement in place I would prefer our club to honour it. Imagine if Barca/Real Madrid do this sort of thing if they eventually sign Mane. We'd be missing out on a bit. Although I concede that's a poor example because English clubs aren't known for willingly giving up money.

Seems a lot of people here have forgotten your first point. Had we replaced those two effectively the past couple seasons may have been different for Dusan, and us. That assist at Anfield was superb. Proved straight away he belonged in the league.
-
Wish he'd gone to PSV instead, but it's a move that makes sense for him for a few reasons. Trophies, family, lifestyle, etc. He copped a lot of stick last season (quite rightly for the most part) but he was still our most creative player by far when he decided to turn up. 20 goals across four seasons is probably a little short for the position he was playing, and not helped by his **** penalties and constant desire to farm out chances to others. 28 assists in that period... should and would have been four or five times that if we strikers who could find the net. He suffered a lot due to our lack of a big target man I reckon. I remember when he was the first RK signing, after the tumult of Summer 2014. That - and Pelle coming in soon after - got me excited again after the big departures. I expect he'll go on to bag a few trophies now and I wish him all the best in doing so. I'll watch a few more Ajax games for sure.

Excellent news. We've been lacking the Viking spirit since Claus retired.

Then it's nothing. Christ on a cracker I really dislike Ronaldo but there was absolutely nothing in that incident at all.

If the League Cup mistake had have been rectified at the time none of us would ever have had reason to hear the name Pelligrino. And that would be just as good as winning the cup in hindsight.
-
He had a massive 2014 WC and went to Stoke..... Another good Euros in 2016 and remained at Stoke.... Weirder things have happened. Probably.
-
100% this. Absolute replacement for Davis who I think showed this season he was getting on a bit for this level with his fitness becoming more of an issue. Wanted us to look at Armstrong last year so not unhappy we're doing so now. None of which changes the fact we DO need to get at least one quality replacement for Tadic, plus another creative type. Plus a CB or two, a decent CF, and resolve our fullback issues.
-
Either way it's amusing. So who cares.
-
I'm also in Australia and can't see any way he'd get his hands on one here to be honest
-
But was it? Genuine question. Did anybody actually attempt to buy it from the site? Or did we all just see the link to the shirt, and then it was removed?
