He looked very nervous in the tunnel before the teams came out and seemed a little terrified of Benteke with a result that many passes went astray. He is in the England under 21 squad though, so he must be doing something right. Otherwise Gareth will not play him just as Wroy would not play Clyne perhaps!!

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 FC Midtjylland
rooney replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
RK said before the game that we had to play a different game and we did. Although, I felt despondent afterwards, we did have 60% of the possession and 23 shots at goal coupled with more corners than the Danish Champions. We need to be better in putting opportunities away. We looked disjointed and RK's comment at the pre game press conference about 5 defenders changing from last season and we need time to settle in and get used to everybody's game, is very relevant. -
Mane is the quickest off the mark when facing a player with the ball at his feet, that I have ever seen at Saints. His pace is very important to us and he will improve as a player this season without doubt. I do not think he will go to Man U or any other of the top 4..yet. However, like them all eventually the Sirens will come calling and he will be under their spell at some stage in the future just as that Greek fella was. By then though we may have another "Mane" in our sights.

You could also paint the walls red.

You will pay this sort of money for an establish P/L player but we did not pay anything like this for Clyne but helped to develop him into a top class RB and an International. Hopefuly we can do the same with Matt Targett and Cedric. Not so sure about Maya though.

From what I have seen above and read, this appears to be a top signing. Well done to Les and all the recruitment team. -
After watching the Vitesse game on Thursday, I wish he was still ours.
-
Remember seeing him as the Spiv in the St Trinian's Films a hundred years ago.
-
Doubt if his contract will be renewed but Wroy will still love him.
-
Rickie was great with us and nothing to be said against him. Good luck to him but we now move on .

Caulker could turn out as the signing of the season. Two clubs paid £8m for him, he has played for England and for GB. He has numerous games in the Premier League. He is young, he is big and he is only 23. The move to Saints is a wonderful opportunity for him and Les says we have been tracking him for sometime. Everything points to a very good player here, providing he grabs the opportunity now.

Great on a par with "Yellow" and the Pompey Scum perhaps? -
They will be in the wilderness forever if they elect M Corbyn.Yvette Cooper seems to be the only one with the ability to head it up.

There was a lad from Toqruay Youth team who have been disbanded, on trial. Archie Thomas. Apparently Saints have offered him a 2 year contract after the game. He had been at Staplewood for a week or so being looked at.

With a proper pre-season and now injury free, Tadic certainly looked the business v Gronigen. This will improve Pelle's goal scoring opportunities too. Very optimistic for the forthcoming season.

So much strength and pace. He was not in the Celtic starting team last night. -
and it goes back much longer than that. Remember that Rupert sued him over an article and won!

Rupert Lowe started our decline in my opinion until ML bought the club. I recall that WGS wanted £6M to buy Saha, Malbranque and one other whose name escapes me fater the Cup Final. Lowe's response was that" we buy a whole team with that kind of money". WGS left and the club lost millions. But all this is history now and not worth debating so thank goodness for ML and his inheritance. We march on.

Super player who wanted Champions league football which we could not give him. Seven great seasons for us so you cannot blame him for wishing to play in a higher European league which will stabalise his French place too. The money will also be useful.

Or maybe losing the Sunseeker Sponsorship perhaps?

When we went to the JPT at Wembley, we parked at South Ruislip Underground Station (which is overground) only a few stops from Wembley. It was free then on weekends and the grandchildren travelled free too. Easy to drive to via M25 and A 40 and to get away from.

You can say that again as both the Dona Filipa Hotel and the Ria Park are 5 star. Unless of course they all packed into RC and LVG 's villas on the cheap.

Good luck.We shall miss those eloquent TV interviews.
