  1. I agree with the OP. Whilst Gaston , Puncheon and Guly were fit - for about 60 minutes, we were playing some great football. However we burnt ourselves out as these players are not 95 minutes fit and then Everton were allowed into the game. If the ambition of the chairman is matched by the Liebherr Trust for a financially sustainable higher level of football then bring it on .....
  2. I am beginning to believe NC's ambitions and the Liebherr bank account are far greater than we really expected, and for example, looking for players in lower divisions were not an option he wanted to pursue. However, having changed most things in his reign, I wonder if the season ticket holders will be the next target, with a massive hike in prices over the summer.
  3. Just checked my copy - I can confirm no mention at all of NA
  4. Loved his grin when it started !
  5. The fact is, by staying up Saints get into the new TV financial deal by being in the Premiership next year. Ultimately NC, and his control of the club finances, will be affected by the decision to sack NA and appoint new management. He has gambled on what he feels is an improvement. Personally I think the NA way was good enough, but maybe, like most fans, I am "family club ambitious", rather than "Champions League" ambitious.
  6. Ah, Les Reed, the Silent Assassin !!
  7. Making the (maybe naive) assumption that our chairman has bought in someone who will do better than NA, and we need to stay up , I expect us to get say 50 points. That's 3 points against Everton and Wigan as a given.
  8. All done. Together as One !
  9. In broad terms the new manager will probably be in place for a couple of years, generally achieving what was set out for him. Then in what turn out to be his final months, rumours will start whilst NC searches for a replacement. The replacement will step in having studied the team for a few months and MP will be advised via the media he is out of work. And that will be The Saints until the Liebherr millions run out. Take it or leave it, but understand which ever stance you adopt is irrelevant to 'The Project'........
  10. There is a thread in The Lounge where "Nutjobs' often accuse P*mpey supporters of not challenging the owners during the period when they lived beyond the means of the club. We can fill a 32,600 stadium when successful, but would struggle to get beyond say 35,000 on a regular basis even if we were a top six club, and yet we all let Mr Cortese carry on in a Peter Storrie type of way with no challenge. i appreciate there are many differences in the way P*mpey bought the FA Cup and we spent £30k last summer on marque signings; but there are also similarities; and one is the lack of integrity, decency and an understanding of the supporters expectations from a CEO of what is basically a club representing a proud provincial city.
  11. Roger, is this fact or summising?
  12. With reference to the original query, NA has been replaced in the same way as the programme sellers.
  13. Nick, NP was good, but not four promotions in six seasons great !
  14. When you get what you want in your struggle for self And the world makes you king for a day, Just go to a mirror and look at yourself, And see what that man has to say. For it isn't your father or mother or wife, Who judgment upon you must pass; The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life Is the one starring back from the glass. He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest. For he's with you clear up to the end, And you've passed the most dangerous, difficult test If the man in the glass is your friend. You may be like Jack Horner and "chisel" a plum, And think you're a wonderful guy, But the man in the glass says you're only a bum If you can't look him straight in the eye. You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years. And get pats on the back as you pass, But your final reward will be the heartaches and tears If you've cheated the man in the glass. Be true to yourself - Nigel Adkins. Legend. He was one of us.
  15. If we had started the season with ten straight wins, I think NA would still have gone, such is the nature of NC. The only difference being our new blokey would have maybe have had longer to research the club, players etc.
  16. if you need something to cheer you up on this black day for the integrity of our football club, try this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21060343
  17. Wherever he goes will become my second favourite side, something I have never believed in before. I'm afraid we've let the best young British manager go.
  18. Well, Thedelldays, I was rather surprised by NA's lack of excitement when asked about Forren after the Chelsea game. Something along the lines of " You'd better ask those that know".
  19. Top man - we learnt a lot from Nigel - togetherness, honesty, positivity, Sun Tzu and the Art of War, and also were given three great seasons. I think NC has made a massive mistake but obviously hope not. What he has done is killed this season as recent weeks have revolved around NA keeping us up. It will be interesting if those supporting the team, especially away from home, will travel with the same enthusiasm.
  20. It was the leg end that is Perry McMillan featuring on Talksport.
  21. I still have no idea how the club managed to sign him when he joined from Strasbourg during those Dark Dutch days, but he's been my favourite player since and as others have stated, he has been class even in League 1 when he regularly got clattered. Class act, must be due some senior French games soon.
  22. Another bonus point to add to the Arsenal home draw. Awesome Saints. COYR
  23. I would. (Hope this helps)
  24. Surely you mean: 'bestest', a unique colloquialism to the area of southern Hampshire, a county in England. (Oxford English Dictionary 2014)
  25. North east coast of Corfu, around Agia Stephanos, very relaxing.
