FF , you sum up perfectly my frustration during conversations with work colleagues who watch the football through a TV camera. All the effort off the ball, unused runs off the ball dragging players out of position, encouragement or otherwise for team mates, leadership , team shape etc cannot be explained to those not there. Oh, and Billy Sharp is a fine championship player but is not mobile or quick enough to catch out premiership defenders.

Rejoice - its on the Official Saints site - "Ramirez completes Saints switch", its running across the breaking news bit of the home page

Glad to be in such fine company. You dont support Saints for so long without believing it until you see it. - We are Southampton, we'll be realists if we want.

I cannot understand Appy taking others' money for players, which would only put P*mpey in another false position, both financially and league status wise. All he is doing is prolonging that inevitable time when they have a budget, however small, and are forced to live within it. I know this is P*mpey etc.

Renewing our seats in the Kingsland, I was advised by the ticket office that they were significantly more expensive as they were now 'premium' seats. We looked forward to experiencing the upgraded comfort and booked tickets for the seats for the Ajax game. Having occupied them since the move from The Dell, they were getting a bit worn and we were thrilled that despite the expense, they had been upgraded with all the associated perks - cushions, arm rests etc. .....then I woke up and cleared the cobwebs.

Good game today, once we switched to playing a high defensive line we controlled long spells. Guly and JWP class today, plenty of other encouraging performances but as mentioned earlier, we need to keep the ball longer around the opposition box.

All this and a big tank, he was in amongst it all the time he was on the pitch today.

Probably Saggy is being approached by Liss Athletic's chairman to become their new manager.

Have run a side through Eastleigh & District Mini League( Under 8 to Under 10s), Tyro (under 11 to Under 15s) and City of Southampton Youth League (Under 16 and under 18 ). For the last 5 years have been running a team in the Hampshire County Youth League.(Under 18 ) Plenty of good coaches / managers with their badges permitting them to run teams. Parents with attitude are the problem, too many living their dream through their off spring.

Seen him regularly in the Kingsland for many years now. Not the only 'celeb' up in Block 32.

Reading are better equipped for the Premier League than Southampton
Kingsland Red replied to Elmore's topic in The Saints
At this stage I would suggest that St Marys 32,500 capacity is better equipped than the Madejski at c22,500. Players will be added to both clubs before the season is underway. -
The statue wins every time , depicting the bestest, designed by the bestest. Can't wait to see the seagulls crapping on it.

Driving from the UK to Italy in August....Travel Tips Sought
Kingsland Red replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
If you get to Siena on 2nd July or 16th August get to see Il Palio, a fantastic day out with the best atmosphere for a sporting event, with a packed medieval town square-Il Campo - and all with no health and safety legislation- fantastic. -

Vist Positano on the Amalfi coast and Sorrento - beautiful. Drink limoncello Avoid the Mont Blanc and other Alpine tunnels where long queues arise at toll booth / border control points. Wear dark glasses and be ready to lift and drop them when passing Genoa and the constant bright sunlight v pitch darkness of the 100 or so tunnels in quick fire succession along the autostrada down the north west coast. Drive at any speed on the autostrada - an Italian will always come screaming up behind you. -
We need a float of a few million to ensure all ex-Academy players and Saints fans playing in the Premiership; ex loan players; and any Europeans inspired by MLT could sign for the club.

I dont think the clubs have publicised the venue yet but I dont think they play at either Thollon or neighbouring Evian these days. If it's at their current ground at Annecy that is about 40 miles away.

I thought Svensson was very easy to follow at Euro 2012 - identify the centre circle at any time in the game , then find the nearest player to it. Now Peckhart- that's a different story - how did he get to be considered international level ?

I've always thought his expertise would be better suited to motorway contraflows. Let's hope the Cherries have a large selection of cones for him to set up.
