  1. In which case are we likely to see a greater tolerance of Islamophobia if the Tories get back in?

  3. To be fair, Corbyn did say that he believed it had taken a long time due to legal intervention.

  5. And yet we have watched Johnson make a fool of himself on telly for months and still people are prepared to vote for him, so there is hope for Corbyn yet!

  7. If Labour get elected, does anyone on here seriously believe that Jewish people will actually be less safe than they are now? As Duckie would say, what utter pony.

  9. Very poor. He just focussed on the points he wanted to talk about instead of actually answering the questions. A common trait amongst our politicians I know, but he had a great opportunity to show that he was a better option than Johnson and he blew it. These things are not party political broadcasts and you can’t expect to be allowed to spend ages on the bigger picture when you only have 30 minutes to cover a number of different topics. He seemed very badly prepared, but then Sturgeon was better prepared and still struggled against Neil’s onslaught.

  11. It really wouldn’t have hurt to apologise to the Jewish community if they thought he wasn’t being tough enough on anti-semitism. At the end he could have just said the women deserved to be recompensed and one way or another he would find the money. He did himself no favours by being stubborn with Neil. Our politicians are so used to avoiding answering questions it seems a personal affront when the interviewer persists.

  13. Never been a fan myself either. Apart from the arrogance and second hand hair, he was a Murdoch man. For those old enough, who can forget those pictures of him out clubbing wearing a very tight white vest? It will be interesting to see if he is as tough on Johnson as he has been on Sturgeon and Corbyn.

  15. Just about sums it up. I don’t think he is a fool. He clearly wants to put the world to rights but he isn’t prepared to play the game. Johnson can play the game all day long which is why he gets away with being useless. How did we managed to get so far into our evolution and manage to produce such inept people to lead us?

  19. Both very experienced politicians. Both served with the “Great Lady.” Both think that this country is best served by staying in the EU. Both at the end of their careers so they can say what they really believe without worrying about the effect it will have on their future in the party.

  21. Duckie! Lord Heseltine has come out and called to Tory voters to vote for the Libdems or independent candidates. He served under the “Great Lady.” Clearly a wet, Pinko, lefty.
  22. Right on cue, the Muslim Council have now come out and criticised the Tories about Islamophobia in their party. 1-1
  23. Indeed there are. I recently heard Johnson attack Corbyn for not doing enough to stamp out anti- semitism within the Labour Party. Fair enough, and I’m sure that Andrew Neil will give him a proper grilling about it during their head to head on BBC1 tonight. But what exactly is Johnson doing about Islamophobia within his own party? Wasn’t he going to launch an investigation into it? Can any Tories on here tell us how that is coming along?
  24. Don’t recall saying there wasn’t a problem. Just pointing out the support for Johnson from the Chief Rabbi when Johnson became leader of the Tories. Corbyn must be gutted that the printers missed off the bit about The Final Solution is his manifesto don’t you think?
  25. Swinson has missed a trick there. She needs to go out and abuse some Buddhists pronto!
