  1. I am sure there will be better jobs coming up soon. I can't see Palace staying up and even if they do he wont have much money to play with. Still...it is his choice!!!!
  2. Only Rickie can answer this question but I suspect he would still have gone if he knew then whatr he knows know. Why sit on the bench at Southampton when he can sit on the bench of your boyhood club for more money?
  3. There are no easy games at the first whistle and it is only at the end of the game when you know you have had an "easy" game. I thought Everton would be tough but turned out to be relatively easy. I thought we would turn over Burnley and look what happened. I was more worried about Chelsea at home than City and that turned out to be very different. We can only take each game as it comes. What is good for me is that Koeman seems flexible in his approach and he and his management team have done brilliantly in turning the blip around .
  4. Indeed! I reckon it could well be Tim Sherwood though.
  5. This series has been patchy but seemed to be improving until last night. Thought it was very weak and they are clearly now just trying to milk anything to keep the series going. When are they going to learn that it is better to go out at the top? Incidentally there is an excellent parody of Homeland on YouTube - go check it out. Anne Hathaway does a great Carrie.
  6. The first one wasn't great either. I am sure most of us on here could have written it.
  7. Isnt he still on a long contract at Newcastle? If so it will cost them a lot to sack him. Why would you go from Newcastle to Palace?
  8. Ten years ago? Wow. These kind of events just go to show what specks we are in the great scheme of things and that Man will never conquer nature.
  9. Thanks VFTT. Interesting read.
  10. Thank you Verbal. I shall add this to my to read list!
  11. I did get the ad Verbal, I just thought it wasn't appropriate. I also studied WW1 for A level and whilst I knew about the 1914 truce at certain points in the line I didn't know that at other times there were agreements to cease hostilities. As for soldiers (humans) having a hard time killing one another, it happens every day of the year and the countless millions that have died in the countless wars over the centuries would seem to indicate that we find it all too easy to kill one another. Still, it should be a day of peaceful contemplation so on that note I wish you and yours a very merry and peaceful Christmas.
  12. Very interesting and not something I have heard of before. War by its definition seems to defy the normal rules of living so it would seem strange that hostilities would only take place at certain times. Given that both sides spent so much time shelling and shooting each other the concept of not firing when people are having a brew seems odd!
  13. My kids made me play it in the car and I have to say it has grown on me. Ben Howard's album is pretty cool too.
  14. Not sure what your point is mate? For a start it happened to my wife. Secondly ****ty things are ****ty things and a scumbag is a scumbag. Still, happy Christmas to you anyway.
  15. Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas. Best wishes to all.
  16. Judging by the amount of slagging off he has received by people who have not seen him play I am looking forward to him being a big success for us.

    Mane

5th and we still have to find things to criticise. Some people are only happy when they are moaning. If Mane is all we have to worry about we are doing well in my book.
  18. I would also like to add the a rse who broke off my wife's wing mirror and did a runner costing us over £300. Merry Christmas.
  19. When he first came there was a lot of fuss on the site I was on at the time about Lowe bringing in him to sell him on fairly quickly to make a healthy profit to help with the finances. That was as clearly as spot on him being groomed or bought by Arsenal at the time.
  20. Agreed, There weren't many Beatles cover than were better than the originals but his version was awesome. After Jack Bruce another sad loss of one of the veterans of the 60s.
  21. Well, Cristiano Ronaldo was certainly excited to see this impressive bronze statue of himself erected in his hometown over the weekend. The Real Madrid footballer beamed as he posed, thumbs up, next to the 3.4 metre bronze monument of himself, lovingly crafted in what he no doubt perceives to be his own likeness. “This is a very special moment, to have a statue of me,” he said at the grand unveiling in Funchal on the island of Madeira. The statue will make up part of Ronaldo’s personal museum. The exhibition space will apparently host numerous awards he’s earned over the years, including his two Ballon D'Or titles, among other pieces of memorabilia. Tried to copy the picture with no joy but the statue does look impressive in the trouser dept.
  22. Some of the fans on SaintsWeb have been far worse than the media though.
  23. He is right. It is not just Saints fans though. Fans of all clubs are fickle and don't have a clue. I sat amongst some Arsenal and Liverpool fans yesterday and the comments were no different to on here. 5th at Christmas is no mean feat and more then most on here would have imagined in the summer. We have had a really good season so far.
  24. Wheels well and truly back on perhaps?
