At the end of the day it is the manager and players that decides what happens on the pitch, not the money men...unless they don't spend any of it of course.

I don't think this has much to do with ML. He sees happy to let Nicola get on with the running of the club. Depending on what happens on Wednesday that might not be such a good thing!

I don't think it is an issue of ML or AP, I think it is AP or NC. Given a choice of the two right now I would go for AP. Still, if NC gets rid of him and delivers Prem football in 4 seasons time he can say he was right. I personally think Pardew has done more than enough this year to show he is the man for the job next season and that NC should come out and back him.

Exactly, PR has nothing to do with what is going on at present, that is down to the archaic first past the post system. Because the country decided it didn't want the Tories or Labour (through the current voting system) the LibDems are in a position where they can call the shots...

Whether this is true or not I don't know, but I don't feel that Cortese is backing Pardew 100% and get a feeling that we might have another manager this summer.

I think that you will find that people are fed up with the disproportion between votes cast and seats. David Camerson will not be PM for very long if he does go ahead on his own and will do well to listen to the will of the people.

But we did have the minus 10 didn't we, so no chance of automatic qulaification by beating Gillingham and more of a need to see how the team would shpae up with Lambert in the starting line up so that Pardew gets a good fix on what he needs to do for next season. Or we could just sack him, get someone new in and start over?

There will always be economcial situations to deal with but we won't always have such a goldern oppertunity to modernise our ridiculous and unfair voting system Go for it Cleggy!

He might have lost more games than we would have liked, but without the -10 we would still have made the play offs.

I would be very surprised if Hughes came here now as I am sure he could still pull down a Prem job and the earliest we are likely to offer him that is another 2 or 3 seasons. Mind you I was surprised when we netted Pardew so who knows. Like others I think it would be very foolish to part company with Pardew now, but Cortese seems to be very impatient and knows little about football...so anything could happen!

I have just come back from spending the weekend at a friends wedding in Southampton where I me a lady whose son works for SFC. She said that her son does not like NC and confirmed that he is not popluar within many of the staff there.

Indeed! I see that not only has McMenemy come out and publically supported Pardew but so has Frannie Benali. I think a lot of fair minded people see what Pardew has done for this club and want him to stay and carry on. At the end of the day posters like Alpine can whine all they like but they are in the minority. I just wish Cortese would do the decent thing and come out publically and support Pardew. We have a decent manager and we need stability. I know that there are some on here who would change the manager every few games if the could but fortunately they will never be in a postion to run a football club so they can mouth off to their hearts content.
