I agree - don't really like 5 at the back but it kinda suits.
-
Bazunu; Welington, Quarshie, Edwards, Sugawara, Downes/Sesay, Charles, Armstrong, Robinson, Archer, Downs. Obviously Fernandes plays if he's available.
-
My take on Quarshie is that whilst both goals were probably his fault, he does have some very good attributes. Great in the air, quick, powerful, loud. He's a bit raw in his actual defending though. He was a bit unlucky with the second one because he blocked off the left side of the goal but the ball went just past/through his leg. The first was totally on him, he showed Minteh way too much of the goal and gave him too much time.
-
Charles is clearly more of a box to box midfielder than he is a DM. In theory he should thrive next to Downes.
-
Tbf he's had a good game, couldn't do much about the goals (very poor defending) and made some decent saves.
-
Quite clear that Sugawara and Welington add more to this side than Bree and Manning. Also Robinson must start next week.

Bree and Stephens on that right hand side of defence is a huge concern. Positives so far are Sesay and Charles. Archer also looks half decent despite playing out of position.
-
Ipswich have just re-signed Cajuste from Napoli. He's certainly a premier league level player.
-
Apparently not. Aribo absense also unexplained. Smallbone and Taylor have picked up injuries though.
-
Obviously we are waiting for players to leave first but it's a bit depressing we are going into the first game next week with such a poor team.
-
Fernandes is "ill" apparently and not in squad today. Probably means he's in talks to leave.
-
Tbf that's not a bad Brighton side
-
Yep I'd be shocked if they didn't win the league. As things stand they easily have the best squad.
-
It kinda works both ways though. Yes we might not have signed players in time for these games but we might also still have Fernandes.
-
The problem is that if you price your best players out of move entirely it will put off other potential signings as they'll think "well if I go there and do really well for them then they aren't going to let me join a bigger club".
-
I can definitely see the club selling Dibling for £40m but I've got a feeling we'd want at least £50-£55m for Fernandes who is clearly already a quality player. Probably a similar sort of fee to that of Lavia.
-
According to Alfie House a club source said something along the lines of "they wouldn't even get his hair for £30m". So I very much doubt that.
-
I can't see any of the big teams wanting to spend £40-50m on someone who might turn out to be a quality player. The reality is he had a great few months but his form nosedived after that, probably putting the bigger sides off.
-
People will moan but that's £35m of pure profit. Very good for PSR. At the end of the day the longer he stays the less leverage we have. Assuming he wants to leave, we can't afford to keep him this season then sell him next summer. We'd probably only get peanuts for him, especially if we don't go up.
-
If they can get it to £35-£40m I'd take that. Two years left and clearly not signing a new deal.
-
In reality the only way it'll be a good season is for them to win the league. I can't see them beating Celtic enough times to be able to do that.
-
Good job the transfer window is open until September then. The business so far hasn't been great but it's never all done before the season starts.
-
Felt Ramsdale going was inevitable, same goes for Fernandes. Very important that we get a decent replacement in now.
-
£4m loan fee apparently.
-
Just watching his highlights and he does have that sort of style of play about him. Can pick a pass, not massively quick but can beat a player through good footwork. Obviously not as good as Dusan but happy days if we manage to pull it off.
