  1. They scan just about everything these days simply because they can and it allows them to be sure without relying on the player who maybe desperate to play for information on how bad it is. I wouldn't read anything into 'he's going for a scan'.
  2. My take on it too and the right thing for the manager to say, he shouldn't be going to the media saying we definitely need a CB as that totally undermines Stephens and Gardos who if the transfer we are working on doesn't come off need to be full of confidence and believe they have the managers backing. Really can't see that happening massively outside our transfer strategy in recent years Sadly that seems to be true 10m really doesn't buy you an awful lot from anywhere and for English players it buys you a bit of potential and not a lot more!
  3. I have no expectation that the club will bring in a goal scorer this month but I will be amazed if we don't bring in a centre back all the language from the club has implied that we will, my money is still on a sakho loan with option secured on the last day of the window when nobody else is willing to offer a permanent deal. If we cashed in a few of our future options/payments with Liverpool we'd probably get sakho for pretty much free which might make justifying his salary easier.
  4. The petulant two-footed stamp is a massive exaggeration but in that slo-mo Vardy is very much looking at VVD's ankle and not at the ball. Easy to see why the ref gave nothing as it looks in real time to be accidental and I guess only Jamie Vardy will know if he did it on purpose or not and he certainly won't be telling anyone, Fingers crossed VVD is back very soon he is so important to us at the minute that him being out for any length of time would be a major blow.

    JWP

It's a funny situation with JWP, lots here who see him week in week out don't seem to rate him but the wider footballing world still seem to think he has the potential to be a top class player. I'll be interested to see where his career takes him he's had a lot of game time here and a lot of under 21's experience but that doesn't mean his career won't fizzle out. I don't think he will ever make it o the very top but I expect him to be Mat Oakley kind of figure for us, solid hard working and always on the verge of international recognition if only he could add a few more goals to his game. He is the sort of academy graduate we will hold onto the stellar ones will always go but hopefully we will produce enough solid ones to keep a backbone in the team.
  6. Shame for the last of the league 1 team to depart under a cloud but clearly he wanted to go and 8 million is a shed load of cash for s player with maybe 1-2 seasons left in him. Good luck to him at West Ham I'll be interested to see who arrived to replace him.
  7. We seem to have been pretty generous to others teams on similarly dire runs of form this year! Fully expecting a massive rotation of players and another dull performance I can't be bothered predicting a result as I suspect the game will be dire either way.
  8. Gardos lives!
  9. Do we think that nonsense will last in this era? Seems madness to me Liverpool need a left back Utd have a spare one and could use the cash players have crossed bigger rivalries around the globe!
  10. It will be a different team that plays Leicester so no point talking about confidence! Someone could score a hat trick in 20 minutes get subbed in 60 and still need to be rotated onto the bench according to our manager! Personally I'd put out a strong side similar to the one which will play Leicester but we all know that won't happen!
  11. Thanks for calling me a moron much appreciated! The VVD comment was tongue in cheek I thought that was pretty obvious! The manager clearly didn't get it spot on, long hasn't liked like scoring all season, JROD looks a much better bet and played well mid week yet he spent 68 minutes on the bench. We have struggled for goals all season yet puel persists with the same tactics maybe gamble on two up front might be worth taking when we look toothless. Clearly the manager doesn't shoulder all the blame but the buck stops with him.
  12. Long scored plenty last season under a different manager? JROD looks much more like scoring this year than long and clearly needs time on the pitch yet he never starts two games in a row? We set up to put crosses into the box with no aerial threat agaibst one of the strongest defended in the league? The manager rotates to much and is inflexibly dull in his approach yes we need a new striker but in the mean time he needs to make something happen i.e. If he is going to insist on this crossing game put vid up front we might score a few
  13. Not often I agree with anything you post but it's just too much if you look at the successful clubs around the world they don't rotate to this extent I really think we'd be having a much better season if he'd calm it down a little.
  14. but they have hardly asset stripped the place and run it into the ground, the club maybe going through a lean spell but they have backed the manager with a lot of money and have been there a long time now!
  15. and in most cases can hardly be described as asset stripping, the biggest profits are to be had from making a club more successful and then selling it alla Kat and her family. Seperating the stadium from the club would send out a terrible message if the new owners were to do it and I'd then be bracing ourselves for a fall it seems to have ben the fate of all clubs that have gone that way.
  16. Proably a really good example although he always bought broken clubs on the cheap invested enough money to put them in a position to be attractive to others and flogged them more like the leibheirs than this Chinese lot who will be paying through the nose for an established stable club.
  17. Have sisu actually made any money though or just royally screwed the club up?
  18. Has anybody ever bought a football club to make money and if so who has actually made a profit? The answers to the above questions mean it's unlikely they are looking to make a fast buck or if they are they are stupid! Sadly it doesn't look like these are the dream owners who are going to push us into the mega rich league that many have been hoping for, personally I hope we don't get sold the period since admin has been the most successful and enjoyable in my life time the club is owned by sensible people doing sensible things yes we might never make top 4 but under the current leadership we seem unlikely to implode. Change isn't always a good thing!
  19. Maya probably picking his moment, if he becomes first choice after this window he will be in a strong negotiating position he'd be silly to sign now. Romeu worries me but then so would any key first team player who's contract was fast expiring.
  20. This is the fear, I really hope we see him put pen to paper and a decent length extension soon, he has been very important for us this season and would be expensive and difficult to replace sadly as we've found out in recent years we can't force people to sign new deals.
  21. He could be the next Nathan Cleverly or Phil Neville! Comparisons to Barry seem fair enough, he's had a great career and just fallen short of outstanding and it looks like the spider is going the same way.
  22. I can't decide who is telling the truth but either way the situation is hardly showering anyone with sunshine, would much rather the club and player conducted the whole business behind closed doors and either announced he was staying and happy or sold him this messing about helps nobody. I can't help but agree with those saying Fonte has been badly advised he seems to be burning his bridges at Saints with no prospect of a big move or any move for that matter, he's probably still ****ed that he didn't get to go to united in the summer but maybe for the good of his career he should have sucked it up and signed what saints were offering! If he spends the rest of this season rotting in our reserves his stock will have fallen so far he'll be lucky to get out of here before his contract is up and will be looking at a Palace or lower type scenario!
  23. The Torpedo! There was a ittle bit of hype when he signed him then he sunk with out trace! and don't forget to add Marcelo Sarmiento to our list of failed Argentine players, we don't do so well with South Americans! The bookies odds are just because of idiots betting based on the back of no source rumours I can't see him going to Palace it would be such a massive climb down from him and would reek of chasing the last pay check which is something he has seemed keen to avoid!
  24. Anyone surprised, we are a shambles at the minute time for some leadership!
