Would be career ending, and deliberately scoring an own goal is match fixing which is somewhat frowned upon. Difficult to prove obviously!

This summers transfer announcements in the premier league have been so stupid what was wrong with a picture of the player holding a shirt/scarf and a simple article
-
exactly which is why we should just tell him he is in our plans and will remain at the club for at least another season unless we receive a ludicrous offer in the region of 85m. He will not go on strike for the whole season and will after a sulk realise it is in his best interests to knuckle down and play to the best of his ability, people will quickly forget how good he was last season if he spends 6 months refusing to play (for which I assume we don't need to pay him!)

About as one sided as a fight betteeen me and Lennox Lewis!
-
Although it makes a change to hear one of our players being bugged up instead of run down on here!
-
I'd say he is the one player who has left that we have missed more than any other!

Always loved that Yeboha goal but voted for LeGod the Beckham Goal is outstanding but terrible keeping!
-
Classic West Ham signings so far, the money flying round so far is crazy!

Owner having second thoughts about selling club?
a1ex2001 replied to terrasaint's topic in The Saints
Happy for Kat to keep the club as long as she wants, she has been a fabulous custodian for our club. -
It's all just a big game I strongly suspect in the end VVD will go to Liverpool and the tapping up issue will be put to one side because we have extracted a price we are happy with. It's a shame as I think he could do much better than Liverpool he is the best centre back I've ever seen in a saints shirt and looks to be one of the very best players in the league his sights should be on City and Chelsea or further a field on Barca and Madrid.

Let's hope when we go sign someone we just announce it in the old fashioned way i.e. Couple of pictures and press conference job done.
-
That's funny it's about time someone did a **** take the signing videos this summer have been ridiculous! Not sure what Taylor offers but clearly the club value him and I doubt we pay him much!
-
He's keomans Gilles Grimandi. Plus he's a half decent right back who won't complain about being backup good luck to the lad.
-
Loving the block box jokes/digs loads so original and funny I literally roflcoptered
-
I believe he has turned down several loan moves in the past to concentrate on fighting for his place in the team.

Are we still selling ourselves as a stepping stone club?
a1ex2001 replied to Heisenberg's topic in The Muppet Show
What a riculous thread we have been a selling club fir the 30 years I've been a fan and will continue to be one. We sell the players when we are ready to do so and this will continue. -
Lol It's a good move for Reed he needs some consistent game time, hopefully he can recapture what ever it was he had when he first broke onto the scene.
-
That is one of the weirdest things I've ever read!
-
Both City and Chelsea seem incapable of turning great youth prospects into quality end product!
-
Don't see the problem as long as the buy back fee is set sufficiently high!
-
Personally I don't really care if he goes to Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City or Barcelona I would however expect Liverpool to be paying a premium for being such class less muppets. He's going to leave at some point and the clubs simple goal at that time should be to maximise the return on the investment don't forget Celtic cut a substantial cut of the fee so maybe we should suggest to Liverpool that the price is 50 million to us and they settle what ever is owing to Celtic?
-
Looks o me like a mutual decision, suspect he wants more first team footy than we can offer. Good luck to the lad.
-
Random aside but anyone know why I can't get name and. Umber printing online for the 2026/17 shirts that are going for £15
-
They will do it just takes more time and Money as Spurs are a more attractive better paying option than saints this allows them to keep hold of a better standard of player than us ie Wanyama and alderwiereld, if spurs were a top ten club rather than a top four do you really think Kane and Alli would still be there? Both of whom will leave at some point for more money at a bigger club it's just a matter of time spurs will loose less players than us but they will never hold onto the really top draw ones like Bale as the bigger fish will chomp them u[.
