  1. Shoe horn if Bertrand in at centre back would send a terrible message to Stephens if the club think he might make it at this level he had to play tonight if a left back who has no real experience as one of two centre backs was preferred to him then we should sell Stephens tomorrow this has to be his time he is to old to keep waiting to see if he is good enough! Good luck to the lad and the rest of the teams everything crossed for the result we want tonight!
  2. if he wants to go ant the money is right they will sell, it's how football works most of the time and we are hardly rivalling hull for worst tem in the league title!
  3. I must be a rubbish fan I go once or twice a season and have attended away games sat in a seat and not singing sorry everyone I know how much my lack of commitment effects the club. Plus points I did watch an academy side featuring jay Lucas in the fa youth cup in Derby, was there for the dire game at Sheffield united when Lancashire got sent off after sbout 5 minutes and enjoyed the 'pleasure' of our more committed fans yelling racist crap at akinori nishisawa in Bolton the same night keleber Chaka was seen wearing a saints shirt running up and down the touch line! Ooh Almost forgot I saw Sarmiento's debut at Notts county what a game that was, I don't go often but I don't go for the glory of a cup semi final but then I don't sing so might as well not go anyway lol
  4. Lol love comments like this they have hardly been delivered with a massive fanfare, I'm confident things are happening behind the scenes besides which Romeu signing a new contract is a massive relief and one less player on the shopping list this summer!
  5. Never believe a price in the media! I think we will get him on loan on the last day of the window with a permanent deal agreed for the seasons end if things work out and we will be paying less than 20 million with nothing like the full amount upfront. The lack of interest put's us in a strong position and i suspect Liverpool will be keen to stay on good terms with us given there need of a left back and our apparent surplus!
  6. Now that is a result loosing him would have been rubbish as he really seems to have kicked on this year.
  7. Must be a photoshop? As an aside he's gone down in my estimation for owning that hideous car with that finish on it!
  8. Maybe he won't be as good as bale but maybe he'll be as good as any number of decent premier league players who do a job week in week out for the club. Not every graduate of the academy has to be a world beater if they were you'd only moan when they got sold. Sims could go on to make 100 international caps while playing for Chelsea, he could spend 10 years in our first team delivering solid performances or he could fizzle out nobody especially a bunch of Internet warriors know the answer yet! Congratulations to the lad he has taken the opportunities given to him worked hard and achieved another milestone along the way to a career most of us would give an arm just for the opportunity!
  9. Which is the standard answer he will give if you ask him about anyone and quite rightly so.
  10. They scan just about everything these days simply because they can and it allows them to be sure without relying on the player who maybe desperate to play for information on how bad it is. I wouldn't read anything into 'he's going for a scan'.
  11. My take on it too and the right thing for the manager to say, he shouldn't be going to the media saying we definitely need a CB as that totally undermines Stephens and Gardos who if the transfer we are working on doesn't come off need to be full of confidence and believe they have the managers backing. Really can't see that happening massively outside our transfer strategy in recent years Sadly that seems to be true 10m really doesn't buy you an awful lot from anywhere and for English players it buys you a bit of potential and not a lot more!
  12. I have no expectation that the club will bring in a goal scorer this month but I will be amazed if we don't bring in a centre back all the language from the club has implied that we will, my money is still on a sakho loan with option secured on the last day of the window when nobody else is willing to offer a permanent deal. If we cashed in a few of our future options/payments with Liverpool we'd probably get sakho for pretty much free which might make justifying his salary easier.
  13. The petulant two-footed stamp is a massive exaggeration but in that slo-mo Vardy is very much looking at VVD's ankle and not at the ball. Easy to see why the ref gave nothing as it looks in real time to be accidental and I guess only Jamie Vardy will know if he did it on purpose or not and he certainly won't be telling anyone, Fingers crossed VVD is back very soon he is so important to us at the minute that him being out for any length of time would be a major blow.

    JWP

It's a funny situation with JWP, lots here who see him week in week out don't seem to rate him but the wider footballing world still seem to think he has the potential to be a top class player. I'll be interested to see where his career takes him he's had a lot of game time here and a lot of under 21's experience but that doesn't mean his career won't fizzle out. I don't think he will ever make it o the very top but I expect him to be Mat Oakley kind of figure for us, solid hard working and always on the verge of international recognition if only he could add a few more goals to his game. He is the sort of academy graduate we will hold onto the stellar ones will always go but hopefully we will produce enough solid ones to keep a backbone in the team.
  15. Shame for the last of the league 1 team to depart under a cloud but clearly he wanted to go and 8 million is a shed load of cash for s player with maybe 1-2 seasons left in him. Good luck to him at West Ham I'll be interested to see who arrived to replace him.
  16. We seem to have been pretty generous to others teams on similarly dire runs of form this year! Fully expecting a massive rotation of players and another dull performance I can't be bothered predicting a result as I suspect the game will be dire either way.
  17. Gardos lives!
  18. Do we think that nonsense will last in this era? Seems madness to me Liverpool need a left back Utd have a spare one and could use the cash players have crossed bigger rivalries around the globe!
  19. It will be a different team that plays Leicester so no point talking about confidence! Someone could score a hat trick in 20 minutes get subbed in 60 and still need to be rotated onto the bench according to our manager! Personally I'd put out a strong side similar to the one which will play Leicester but we all know that won't happen!
  20. Thanks for calling me a moron much appreciated! The VVD comment was tongue in cheek I thought that was pretty obvious! The manager clearly didn't get it spot on, long hasn't liked like scoring all season, JROD looks a much better bet and played well mid week yet he spent 68 minutes on the bench. We have struggled for goals all season yet puel persists with the same tactics maybe gamble on two up front might be worth taking when we look toothless. Clearly the manager doesn't shoulder all the blame but the buck stops with him.
  21. Long scored plenty last season under a different manager? JROD looks much more like scoring this year than long and clearly needs time on the pitch yet he never starts two games in a row? We set up to put crosses into the box with no aerial threat agaibst one of the strongest defended in the league? The manager rotates to much and is inflexibly dull in his approach yes we need a new striker but in the mean time he needs to make something happen i.e. If he is going to insist on this crossing game put vid up front we might score a few
  22. Not often I agree with anything you post but it's just too much if you look at the successful clubs around the world they don't rotate to this extent I really think we'd be having a much better season if he'd calm it down a little.
  23. but they have hardly asset stripped the place and run it into the ground, the club maybe going through a lean spell but they have backed the manager with a lot of money and have been there a long time now!
  24. and in most cases can hardly be described as asset stripping, the biggest profits are to be had from making a club more successful and then selling it alla Kat and her family. Seperating the stadium from the club would send out a terrible message if the new owners were to do it and I'd then be bracing ourselves for a fall it seems to have ben the fate of all clubs that have gone that way.
