(my quote )to be fair I cant recall you being a great backer of NP. you wanted others. (your reply)I have never denied it. But he was chosen (out of almost nowhere), and did a job. Your reply above would to most seem to let us know what you were thinking.I did not say you slagged him off by the way.

Like me then, but after me enabling the club to win the European cup after running away with the PL titile with my goalscoring feats for 5 years running i might then leave as RL and his cohorts had made too much money from my superhuman exploits. i would then perhaps then join Man u to help them back into the Pl.
-
I suspect most would see the point that you are using NP as a stick to beat the club with, when all along you didnt rate him either. The point is you aint been happy with any choices of manager and so from GB thru to jan you have been complaining. Now that is fine but you cant pick and choose who to use just because it suits your particular arguement of the day.By the way happy new year to you and may we argue happily in the coming year.

Put it this way DD, I know if I played for Saints and knew i was leaving I still would give my everything while playing for us.Surman especially and lallana I believe would do the same. Whether you and Alpine would I cant say, but I expect you both would as you are Saints supporters as well.

your point being you were a disloyal and ungrateful employee I suppose. What point could it be otherwise? The players mentioned by you have an attachment to the club and would give their all whether they were leaving or not.

Happy when we're losing, he's only happy when we're losing. If you get my drift.

He f'ing terrorised us when he came up against us.

I thought you might like to be reminded of this post a couple of weeks ago. (quote by Merovian) I'll give you a £50 bet right now the only major player likely to be leaving is Diarra, who we have been playing without for 4-5 games now. in fact this season he has not quite reached last seasons heights, he keeps picking up niggles and injuries. Show me hard facts we have to sell, that is facts that have not come from a jackanory journo. If you can find facts then also include tony adams comments today that we are in fact going to have funds in Jan. We have agreed to sign Belhadji for £3M in January ! But we are skint - remember that, I'll be back Jan 31st to resurrect your post (end of quote) Merovian the last few words are amusing, even you might see that.Xmas greetings by the way

How can highlights not show DMG's shot against the bar??????
-
So having an attachment to the club mean they are not allowed to improve themselves!!!!! Why did you move to Austria, dont you have any attachment to Southampton? Or was it you wanted to get the best for your future and family.

is Ince not still free as well? Some of those would be fine by me, but again unless we know the finances of what the club can afford then it is futile thinkng of these people. i would be very much in favour of changing jan (although I would like him still to stay at the club)and many of those above can work with young players.Sadly 3 of them I associate of long ball, my choice of Davies creates a dirty side (a bit like when we had Mc Grath Hollywood etc)
-
I havent watched the highlights but if the Reading chances were after they equalised it is not a fair assessment. When you lose a late goal the opposition are lifted and you are likely to be on the back foot. I notice that the handball penalty shout seems to be left out which would have meant a pen in the last minute.

Alpine it is not a put down it is the case. You find the result the most important thing because you are sitting at home. Of course I wan us to win as much as anybody on here ,but also I pay with my money and time to go and be entertained. The players are trying to play football the right way.Al ot of them have been at the club years and so have a certain attachment to us. Most are earning very good wages but not astronomical ones and so are more like the players I watched when I first used to go. I left saturday feeling upset for them more than myself as they really deserved more and really did play good football with energy and enthusiasm. As you know i dont like jumping on the grave of opur club and so wilol defend it to the best of my limited ablity from unfair criticism or downright mischief making.
-
I canrt argue with that, but if the British man is G&D etc then I might wish to keep what we have.
-
Well you dont need Einstein to come to that conclusion. It was always going to be difficult.I said that the target this season is to stay up. I also asked give us a credible way of going around this is a different way. It is hard for any of us to know what financial restraints ANY manager would be under. If you are losing 300k a week you cant go and loan highly paid players and so you have to use any asset you may have. The Acadamy was the obvious way. I have no confidence that Jan will turn it around and will be surprised if RL does not act.

Why are we continuing to defend the away fans end in the second half.
OldNick replied to derry's topic in The Saints
I agree we should kick to the Northam 2nd half. Yesterday we kicked off and so Reading must have won the toss. The winter sun hasnt stopped the opposition scoring -
I have given it to christmas to see if Jan is the right man. Before kick off yesterday I firml;y believed he wasn't. At full time and after enjoying the football on display i wonder.Although Im in the time for him to go camp. If he gets the team to win a couple of league games on the trot then he then may get a little longer from me, but as in the past we have been all too keen to get rid of the manager 'as it couldnt get worse' and even now we haven't learnt. I find with interest the same faces dancing on the clubs grave. It is easy to say there was other ways but unless you have the full facts in front of you with all the costs of players, then you cant make a true judgement. I dont know what NP required to carry on managing (although I doubt he had a chance) The chairman /board made a decision to go down using the acadamies products thus slashing our wage bill. LC may have been a better bet but he seems to have been outvoted each and every time which casts a doubt over his ability to convince his collegues to act his way.

Kalm down, kalm down

good job you Welshed on your bet, me thinks
-
No it was a case i believe that the fans had seen the team play very well. We have seen it many times and then not scored and the oppostion nick the points. It was a relief that we got our rewards and alos a passion for the team. It is easy to mock my observation but the crowd definately celebrated the goal in such a way you'd think there was a capacity crowd.
-
Robbie, there is no laughing at fans. The fans IMO understand and are behind the young players who show an attachment to ur club
-
it was the volume I was commenting on, I obviously made that not clear enough for you sorry

I went to the game expecting an atmosphere of turmoil and unrest. I was pleasantly surprised that the support was 100% behind the team. Yes there were a few peple holding up Lowe out posters, but that was all. The fans except against Forest home have been superb and long may it be so. When we scored the roar was like the ground was full.
