  1. Yes, I think the start was when I was speaking to my mate on the phone and mentioned that I heard that Rickie didn't like Danny Butterfield and that is why he was sold, but couldn't remember where I heard it, (and I blamed this site I think). Total bloody confusion. I think I'll have to find a more constructive persuit to do in the evenings. Maybe get some Airfix kits, if they still make them, or read more books.
  2. As someone who served my country, (and fought for the men beneath me, some who never came back) I wear mine with pride to remember those that I know who lost their lives. And it is a big thing in construction as well, in my experience, as many wear them, and friendly question those who don't, (respecting their right not to wear one). But I believe that to get rid of this nonsense the Government should legislate. By the way, do you know it is an offence to not educate your employees on the Health and safety at work act? I say this because, being the pedantic big ego head that I am who has recently involved, not directly, in the aftermath of the issuing of a Prohibition Notice to an EMPLOYEE by the HSE, I enjoy the following. I refer in the following example in a London Borough: Lifeguard type person: You can't wear them goggles in the pool. Me: Really. Why is that? Lifeguard type person: Health and Safety Me: Which is it? Lifeguard type person:Health and Safety. Me: No It can't be both. Not many things are both. So which is it? A Health risk, or a Safety Risk. Lifeguard type person:I told you it's Health and Safety. If you do wear them, i'll get you thrown out. Me: No, i'm sorry. You don't seem to realise. Now, wearing the goggles may constitue a safety risk. and I'm all for that. But I can't see them wearing them causing me health issues in the future. Lifeguard type person:There you go. Safety risk. Me:As they constitue a risk, there must have been an assesment on them. And as you have a complete lack of knowledge, this worries me even more. It is my duty to infom the HSE about the current disregard of legislation or the lack of basic understanding. I'll tell you what. You go and get you manager, and I'll contact the local HSE inspector. Then we can sort all this out. Working with the Health and Safety at work act, among others tedious bits of legislation, and having contact with the HSE i fully know that they are ****ed off with the 'H&S brigade' jumping on things that they have no idea about and reporting in the press that it's the HSE responsible for banning this and that, when it isn't. They even have a 'Myth of the Month' on the HSE website that shows what a nonsense these press report really are. I have contacted my daughters school several times over stupid issues because they don't understand the basic concepts of keeping people safe. God, i'm on my soap box now.
  3. I don't know if this belongs here or the Computer games forum, but here goes, an if it don't someone will move it I'm sure. Do you ever, after an intense few days of FM11, get reality confused with Fantasy regarding Saints? Case in point. Reading the Puncheon thread, i'm thinking' Didn't he go to Stoke?' And looking at the league results i'm thinking 'Didn't Bompey beat us there?' Perhaps I play it a bit too much, (the result of working away alot and nothing to watch on TV) I suppose, and I play it whilst I listen to games on Saints player. So, what about you? Or am I suffering from a malady of the brain?
  4. BWP - Flat, (as in Not Fizzy after being bought with part Coca-cola money)
  5. How about 'They were in that number'.
  6. 1. Agreed, with Knobs on. he gives us more of an edge I think, otherwise, although we do struggle slightly without him, we are one dimensional. 2. He could do with some more training on getting down close to the posts, as this is his weakness. On Shot stopping he is V good. 3. I like the set pieces that we are doing now. Keeps the opposition onn their toes. 4. I know they say the camera adds 10 lb, but how many cameras were on him? And perhaps he doesn't score enough to have a 'victory dance'. Now he has a chance to practice one. Perhaps he could mime eating a pie? 5. I totally agree and have been harping on about him starting for a while. Perhaps with Guly just behind, but definatly at the kick off.
  7. Chaplow misses the ball, but buries Liddle into the top right corner.
  8. yes but imagine if you are a supporter of Andover? Or Bashley? Someone has to write or text in to get a mention and then they are forgotten again. The trouble is that they are trying to big up all three teams and we seem to not be flavour of the month, probably because the Cheates FC is the 'bigger game' and Bompey have not had any limelight in the recent years and have always been last to us. So in the BBC big book of balanced programming, we have had our time in the limelight, will have again, so give it to those on the up-and-up.
  9. Knock Knock Who's there? Nick Illingsworth Nick Illingsworth Who? Right, i'm going to complain to the IFO about you.
  10. Well, nice guy ir not, he has been treated very shabilly by the club. And I do sympathise with him. That said I do recall that when he realised the problem, he call up Andy Oldknow (i think) to find out what was going on, rather than through the Ticket office. I must be honest that when people ring me directly, instead of the first response line I do react differently, especially any of the following: - Councillors - Community Wardens - Police Community Support Officers - Anyone who is either president, secretary or chair of a 'body' - Anyone from an 'action team' - Highway Agency Traffic officers These people are usually politely interupted during their practiced speech by me to enquire why they have not contacted the published communication line, and then their issue goes to the bottom of my pile, basically for thinking they are more important than the normal members of the public. Those that DO go through the correct procedure, (including those above) either have their issue attended to there and then, if possible, or closed out within a week. So if it is the club being spiteful in this regard, I do have some sympathy in that department also.
  11. WEll, to explain myself it is simple, No money upfront, done on a fee free basis. A seat next to Atkins. Lucy and I feeling love for each other. A seat on the bus of success. Mrs Fonte and I playing football together, as that is the extent of my skills, discussing how to pronounce her husbancds name whilst eating a plate of my famous Caldeirada The truth to the many rumours regarding the parting of Pardew. The opportunity to lose weight on them Bicycles. And that's it. You have a very dirty mind, sir. Now, who are these two new signings you refer too?
  12. I heard that Fergie was at the Saints - Man U game just to watch AOC, according the my sources :lol: :D:D:D:
  13. Sorry, but in reply to your question, 'Where are we going?' I must answer that 'No man knows his own destiny'. And leave it at that.
  14. Not what I expected but i'm enjoying it. I just wish I could drifter back onto my original post.
  15. How do you know I was refering to them? I think Matty is a god and wish he was involved in the club, as I think we could only benefit from that, and Lawrie to some degree, but the rules changed when Liebherr bought the club. Remember that even though MLT thought he was doing a good think with Pinnacle, it could have been the death of the club. I think you'll agree that he was very naive here. And why do they have to keep running to the press? Isn't this disunity just fuelling the fire.
  16. Tell Mrs LS that Mrs SSA has gievn me permision to say, How right she is, and how come no one thought about that before. I bet she's related to Sian Massey? Seriously though, it is a very valid point.
  17. I would happily build it.............For NO cash..............just a seat in the dug out at home...............and feeling rights with Lucy Pinder..............a go on Nigels Bus..................A mess about with Fonte missus, (so, how DOES your Husband pernounce his name, and don't speak with your mouthful dear)............The truth from NC about Pardews sacking..................a go on them exercice bikes.........and that's it. Not too much to ask, is it?
  18. Yeh, but work what out? He isn't entitled to anything more than you or I now. He may have played for the club and achieved success for us, but WE have all paid for that and have kept the club going for X amount of years. I still think he is a God, but I think that NC is making the statement that he is an ex-employee and should be here anymore. He actually works for a Media organisation, and we all know NC doen't like leaks.
  19. Wow. You could have read my mind or copied my last in-depth post. I agree fully with everything said here. Too many people with their noses out of joint looking to milk the club again, and a man and a team structure which is more business like and professional at all levels rather than the one originally here, where the money just disappeared. I also like my analogy of the workers who no longer work for the company, but still come around and hang around the workplace.
  20. Thing is, it takes a different mind set to be able to take a penalty, compared to scoring in open play. Therefore should penalties not count for more? In open play there are many chances that come a little easier because the goalie is distracted elsewhere and isn't given you his full attention, and he may also be looking for you to pass rather than shoot. In penalties you are stood one to one, you're going to shoot and you have his FULL attention.
  21. Isn't his agent that T. Wicks?
  22. Like the great statements of the Press: New POPSTARS band to be called INNER SPIN: ( there were called Hear'Say) Peaches Geldof seen having romantic stroll with DJ Ben Grimshaw, (he's Gay) George Harrison the father of American Womans baby: I always remember his dulcet cocney accent as he told me he loved me, (well, we all know what is wrong here). I would like to challenge those that have made statements as, more or less fact, here and now to explain why they have been wrong. No excuses, no ******, no making up stuff, just justify why you thought you were 100 % right, and you missed the bus. And don't think I am immune from this. I have made a few errors in the past. Go on, be like a man, stand up straight and proud and claim, 'I am In the Know, and I am full of CRAP, Because.........' please fillin the balnks. Perhaps we could make this a sticky. We could call it 'The SPOT ON or UP YOU ARSENAL' thread. We could include ALL the rumours from whatever source, naming the source of course, and then, after we know the truth, we could label it SPOT ON or UP YOU ARS. What fun we could have. And if the upshot was that no-one would post anything ITK anymore, then I could live with that. After all, in my own opinion, I don't believe that under the new Regime, the leak of information is possible anymore.
  23. from SolentSport Twitter - 'just to update people asking - Saints say they will do the solent fans forum at st mary's in the new year. ' OH, NO!!!!. The club only have 327 days left to have one. Shee-it
  24. I just read this through and through and my personal thoughts on it are that, once more NC has stood up, put his head above the parapet, and made it clear on certain items that have abounded recently such as: - He made it clear he didn't want to negotiate on AOC but some 'Prem' clubs didn't get the message. So those that phoned we politely told to eff off, and those arrogant enough, (just send them ****s at Saints a fax and buy that player that Arsenal wants.) to not even phone, were ignored. - He had made it clear that the previous regime is no longer in charge and this has put some people’s noses out of joint. I personally like LMac, Matt Le Tiss, Banali I can take or leave, but this isn't the old world at SMS. They are like the people who have left your company, but keep coming back, just walking in, talking to all in sundry, acting like they still have free reign, not the fact they are guests now. We all know people who do this, and it used to Pee me off when I joined my current firm, and all sorts of strangers used to just walk in, make a coffee etc. because they worked there once. I even went to a leaving do for someone who started the same time as me, and our company paid for it, but it was mostly filled with a majority of people who worked for others and had left BEFORE we started. So in this respect, I actually form this point onwards know what NC is on about now. They were great ambassadors for the club, they were appreciated when they were here, but this is a new dawn. Thanks for coming and all you have done, now bye bye. But I do admit he could be a bit more diplomatic. - Also with regard to these ‘Dark Forces’ we do have to ask the following question: With all the rumours of AL and AOC are DEFINATLY going, and the club is DEFINATLY up for sale, given by the mysterious ‘I am in the Know’ brigade, WHY HASN’T ALL THIS HAPPENED? AL Leaving his girlfriend has told us, (if you remember this one) AOC going to Arsenal, paperwork just being put into place, (another recent gem). Club being sold to Arabs (but of course) WHY,WHERE,WHEN,HOW,WHO? I think I believe Cortes, here. There are others afoot with their eye on the club, a nice cheap little investment, get it for £10-20 million, sell off AL, AOC, Lambo, Chappers, Fonte and Barnard. Got the money back plus nice little profit. Bring in cheap replacements. Let the hangers on back in for some credibility with the fans. Run up some debts buying excessively priced has beens. Go into Liquidation. Sorted. Or Sell for a mint in Championship. Hey, that sounds like a decent business plan. Let’s do it. - It also in my mind he is starting to dispel the rumours about the sale of the Club. If you were looking to sell something, would you really keep something that’s worth something and expect to add it to the price? You wouldn’t look sell you house for the market price, plus an additional grand because you have left a top-of-the-range fried behind? No one would give you a grand above asking, they would say they only want to buy the house, (then sell it for a grand themselves). No, this does bode well for me. If you’re Kat, and you’re going to sell Saints, why not cash in first? No, the one side of the press is having a field day on our expense fed from the side lines, by those nameless shadowy people who are using our love for the Former heroes of the Saints. The other is being fed what the fans need to hear on the other from NC. And in this battle, I think NC is winning. After all Lawrie will never manage us again, MLT and Banali will never play for us again, and there are too many of us that just want success at any price and couldn’t give a **** who gave it too us, as long as we get it. Then THEY become our new heroes. Personally, I am liking NC more, because for all his arrogance, and **** poor mistakes, and failure to capitalise, he has the same drivers as most of us, and what he does is logical and makes sense to me, in the business world and in how he is looking to capitalise on the media, and he is slowly getting better at it, especially with the misdirection.
  25. I would prefer us to be fourth, and Plymouth remain, than second with them gone.
