  1. Worth a bet then
  2. I'm not sure who is the winner, STH or Pay-On-The-Day-Fan. I bought an ST but could only attend 17 out of 23 matches. Did I win or lose? Any other ST's miss more matches and was it worth buying the ST?
  3. Provided we make about three astute signings, like a youngish CMS quality striker and someone of Jaidi's quality CB and CM. But we do not need to make wholesale changes as this squad is good enough for mid-table/top half. We should not jettison anyone who played in the first team (other than N'Guessen) imo, at least before January when NA will have a better idea how individual players are faring in the CCC.
  4. I sometimes wonder if it is better to start a little poorly since we have done well playing catch-up in the last two seasons. When we were relegated from the Premiership we hadn't had too bad a start, but I seem to remember there was some complacency in that we believed we were 'too good' to go down. We weren't.
  5. How about putting microphones and loudspeakers in home supporters stands at St Mary's?
  6. I'll add v Bobby Robson's Newcastle to that. But it's the fans who create the atmosphere - not the stadium, even if the pitch is far away and the seats raked at a shallow angle. Nowhere and at no other stadium have I experienced the wall of decibals as on Saturday! We can do it. Magnificent!
  7. Such a shame Skacel's signature was not completed in time.
  8. It's good bye to the real football fans. That support their teams in all weathers in crappy stadiums and survive against all the odds. It has been a privilege to play them and I salute them. I was there when we were in the old Third Divvy South, but thank goodness we are moving on again!!
  9. Yep. It's high time to give Bench a game.
  10. ouch
  11. Wanted - two children's tickets for my nephew's kids (he's serving abroad in the army) in the family stand (preferably the corner, but the Chapel ok). Any ST holders unable to go? -will pay adult prices Ta
  12. No I didn't say that. This is Monday's surefire prediction. We'll be promoted before we play Walsall.
  13. Forums do attract nobs seeking to provoke. Idiots who condone mindless violence for whatever reason should not be allowed on here. So mods its up to you to ban them.
  14. I predict that Saints will win 1-0 and Huddersfield will only thrash Brentford 15-0, so Saints are promoted by a goal difference of 1. HTH
  15. Just got home from Griffin Park and Brentford actually played their hearts out and caused us some heart stopping moments when we were two up, including a penalty miss. We were really not comfortably ahead until Oscar's well taken goal as the Bees dominated spells in Saints half for a bit and always looked like they might score. Thank Fonte again for leading the defence. I dare say Brentford made more effort than Brighton did, and hopefully they'll be up for it again against Udders. Great atmosphere, and Saints supporters were absolutely deafening in the terrace.
  16. They probably live locally to the incident and it shouldn't be too difficult to set up a sting to catch them. This type of behavour needs to be stopped..
  17. A great place for the flag could be behind the Northam goal between home and away fans which would hide those horrible empty seats (Assuming we won't get full houses until we reach the Premiership)
  18. It has to be Fonte over Lallana for me because he is the main reason that we have had such a good defence and such a splendid goal difference which with our extra game in hand is why we are favourites for promotion at this stage. Lallana would undoubtedly be my first choice had he not been injured for crucial stages of the season (and perhaps deserves it for his determined efforts at recovery) but he has also been unlucky in that a few of his on-target shots have not gone into the net. Tough choice. We can build an unbeatable team around these two if we go up.
  19. Compared to a dispirited Pardew at the beginning of this season NA is more proactive on the touchline and is a better communicator. He is more prepared to change players and systems during matches if things are not going to plan. The changing room and training ground atmosphere is better by all accounts (though he had to win players over to his way of thinking when he first arrived). His signings have been limited by budget restraints it seems but he has done well to mould together a team largely recruited by AP that is not so reliant on one main striker (Ricky) and his teams have seen more players get goals. Defensively we are tougher to break down than last year although there have been a few mistakes by individual players which have cost us points. And his big plus of course is to persuade AOC to stay here at least till the end of season. Negative points are that the players are often slow to find their rhythm in early stages of matches, although they are more resilient in clawing back wins. Can this be improved for the last three matches? We'll know more come Saturday. Brentford are typical of teams that we should beat but don't. I am impressed so far.
  20. 2nd. Brilliant! http://www.premierleague.com/page/YouthATable And guess who's bottom!
  21. Show respect to Plymouth. Like we did, they are close to extinction. They may not even be in the FL next season.
  22. Not true. manure are best in all the world of all divisions at getting dodgy decisions. Adkins out!
  23. Essential that we don't gift early goals to any of the remaining teams that we play so that they dig in. If we don't concede early we will win all the remaining games. But we don't have a great record playing teams near the bottom and fighting for survival. Peterborough have a tough job to catch up and must be out of it, but the Terriers threat is real. We must not slip up and the remaining games may not be pretty but it's not over yet for sure. However we will succeed!
  24. Should arrive Tues or Weds (I hope)
