My nephew was mascot at Colchester away on boxing day a couple of seasons ago. My dad wrote to the club to ask if he could be one and was given this game. Home games are decided by a draw for Junior Saints members. My nephew had a great day and as his Dad doesn't like footy I got to be the responsible adult for the day. Meant I didn't drink before game though. He got to meet all the players and get pictures/autographs etc. He went into the dressing room (it was smaller than most lounges so no wonder they moved grounds) and had kickabout with home team mascots. He also got to take a penalty at half time in front of the saints fans. Sadly he put it wide of the post. Also his mum, grandma, brother and sister were allowed into the ground for free just to watch him run out. When they got back to the car just after kick off they had been blocked in the pub car park so basically had to sit out the whole game in the pub waiting for full time. No surprise they were a bit worse for wear when we turned up All in all a great day for everyone

Yes it has - my Dad use to qualify but doesn't now I'm sure there was a discount last year too for adult plus junior tickets in Family stand of about £100 but now it only applies to under 11.

Sounds like SFC should have been clearer with you. I had to return Hartlepool tickets and the woman in the ticket office made it very clear it was up to me to make sure they received them before game.

I agree with you. But my concern is that a poor start will mean the fans and chairman getting restless, pardew getting the boot and a new manager having to find his feet etc and before we know it we are in October and well off the pace.

FFS you can't please some people - easy wins against weak oppo is wrong as we need to play decent teams, marginal defeats against strong teams is wrong as it is bad for morale!! Rubbish - pre season is about fitness, tactics, team bonding and gelling - results are irrelevant.
