Swiss most likely now

If the case, it better not be another 21 days of nothing... because then we won't have a pre-season, we won't be able to bring in players quick enough, and key men such as Kelvin Davis will be at a different club (he will be forced to, basically)

Does the Swiss consortium have a reasonable financial backer? (ie, better than the average richness in football clubs)

I had a feeling after they missed last friday that there were fund issues with Pinnacle. I mean you can only drag this FL thing out so long can't you? Something else is wrong.

I feel sorry for MLT who seems to have been strung along by this.

so, another 21 days of nothing followed by another week of nothing. We are fooked now. We simply do not have another week we can waste with the will they wont theys. It needs to be settled now!

Thats the key - it doesn't 'HAVE' to take 21 days, they can tie it up much quicker if they want.

the fact that Pinnacle needed 21 days and still haven't managed it shows them up for what they are unfortunately.

Swiss are working with Fry over weekend and likely to have exclusivity by Monday

then -unlike Pinnacle they have funds to complete

source - Solent

Solent rang me yesterday about something else. I had a chat and the person I spoke to was of the opinion that the Swiss were a better bet.

If they do come in they can hardly claim that the league is holding things up as they are fully aware of the situation.

The upside is great if they do and the people will be paid, the downside is 'what a farce of a close season', and it still doesn't mean we will be sold.

they were quite pointed on solent saying funds not an issue for them - unlike Pinnacle, made it seem like they thought Tony is lying.

Well based on the money man that they wheeled out, you'd have to question how much money Pinnacle do have. They may have more than one backer, but you have to be a bit naive if, after all the "who is he" debate, you wheel out someone who, appears to not have a pot to **** in. Bigger pot than me mind, so it is stretching the point, but you get my drift.

Say the Swiss somehow manage to takeover, I kind of hope everyone will still be able to get behind them - as I have got the impression from some users that it is Pinnacle... or a disappointment. Or is this only against the Jackson group?

I would slightly support Switzerland at the next World Cup if they did buy us (and steadied the ship!)...

There is a way for the Swiss to speed things up. Take over from Pinnacle, by initially joining up, completing, then Pinnacle walk. Leaving the Swiss in charge. That's of course if as alleged the funds are not available.

TL seemed to be on here al the time giving updates (sometimes in the middle of the night) but nw we are getting radio silence when we most need some updates.

On the other hand if they have no money, who the fook is paying for the lawyers etc to get them this far?

such ideal scenarios never seem to unfold at this football club!!!

What do we know about these Swisslings (is that the correct plural? :p)

I remember lots of conjecture about Pharmaceutical companies, complete with interesting graphics, background detail on the development of the Swiss Pharma sector and so on.

Canton anyone fill in any details on who they are? I already feel like a cuckoold, I don't want to be Bernt a second time.

Isn't Red Bull something to do with the Swiss, just a hunch i thought Red bull was a Swiss Pharmaceutical invention. Seeing as how Red Bull sponsor tons of other sports but don't remember seeing them in footy

not that i think its them in the slightest but they do own the austrian team - red bull salzburg

needs to save the future not just this season, things not sorted by very early next week, even I, who is usually optimistic will start having doubts about our survival.

Even if we do get taken over now it seems like it will be a while away and with the possibility of having to sell players to fund our existence over the next week or two we will be starting the season on minus points with a very poor squad.

I honestly didnt think things could get any worse. It does seem a bit strange hauling this guy in front of the sky cameras if he is not the one with any money.

Tony Lynam stated only one backer yet that has now changed to more than one so what is it Tony.

I think someone owes us all a very big explanation on what is going on.

Solent at 08.00

Pinnacle have serious financial hole in their plans.

Swiss meeting over weekend to sort out complex legal issues but funds is not their problem, if they get exclusivity over weekend they will complete.

I think the chances of Pinnacle completing now are only just above zero. I would not want to put Mr Fialka in the same league as Marc Jackson and Barry the Briefcase but he does not strike me as a person who has the clout to buy a football club.

I am very concerned about the wages remaining unpaid as there are league provisions regarding when players can walk irrespective of their contract status if they remain unpaid.

I think the half truths in Mr Lynam's statements will be revealed today when they implode. I just hope that the Swiss and the British consortia (not joker Jackson) are there on Monday to take over.

Who is it on here that knows MLT? And can said person ask MLT if he knew who the money man is before he signed up to the Pinnacle bid?

I can only imagin that he was duped into thinking that this 100's of millions existed too so I guess he is not going to be over the moon with the outcome.

Unless we are missing something about the pinnacle bid?????
