Posted on the TFFT thread - didn't hear it myself

Why on earth would he distance himself from the rebirth of this great club when only a few days ago he was ready to be chairman?

Makes no sense to me

Some on here know the man and maybe they can shed some light but I simply can't get my head around this right now.

I do hope he has not been stung by the Pinnacle debacle and some of the fans criticism of him.It was only a very few fools who blame him.I notice the Farmer has posted on the takeopver gossip thread. It would be good if people supported him as well.

Intelligent Saints fans still wonder how he could have fallen for Lynam's lies. You can all be blind and not ask any questions if you like.
That is true but he acted in the very besyt intentions. Trusting a friend from the golf course may be naive but not wicked.

Indeed you only need to watch him to know that his ONLY motivation was the saving of the club that he loves so much and nothing to do with power or money.

I hope he has a role even if it is 'advisory'

All MLT wanted was to save the club. Thats what he tried to do, as would any of us if we had his contacts. It failed and he was sucked in by a few, as were many of us. Never any need to feel ashamed Matt, you are still a hero!

Sorry - not harping on I have always seen MLT as an integral part of SFC both on and off the pitch, I was just bringing up that within seconds of the new owners being announced his announcement of having nothing to do with the club seemed a little bizzare

To sum up, he is extremely happy and has great hope for the future of the club.

All he ever wanted was for the club to survive and ultimately succeed.

No contact between Marcus and LeGod but he wishes him all the best.

However, he would be open for a chat with the new owner but may have to turn down any possible offer of Chairman due to his commitments with Soccer Saturday.

We need now to put all bickerings behind us and unite to support this beautiful club and get it back to where we belong.

Pure relief overriding feeling. no question of mixed feelings. the statement that's been issued fills him with hope. nobody would say these things in public if they didnt mean to stick by them.

Le tiss has had no dealings with markus liebherr. asked if he was called by liebherr, would he get involved -would be happy to sit down and chat through some of his pinnacle plans but is fully committed to soccer saturday.

Wants to get the season tickets out and lets set a record for league 1 attendance.

Perfect all I wanted to hear, he will always be my hero - not only for his playing but for his passion and his attitude to the fans

I have to admit I am feeling quite emotional today

Matt was there for us when the football world had us for dead and buried. He did his best to find someone who could try to put together a consortium to save the club. No-one else seemed interested. So it didn't work out. Its hardly surprising if he's feeling quite bruised from the experience (and the criticsm from some fans) but hey, he's got broad shoulders.

We need to show him our appreciation for his efforts.

We have now been saved.

Thanks Matt. You gave us hope when all was despair.

I will not forget that.
