Pardew on talksport

Can't believe I'm sitting listening to the rest of this **** on Talksport, just to hear AP.

Worst station and presenters on the radio.

Sometimes I used to listen in the car

What annoyed me most that in a half an hour programme there would only be ten minutes of interest the rest was adverts etc

Well I tuned in for 5 minutes, and it was 5 minutes too long. Heartily sick of it. Those that can stomach the station, please will they report back anythng significant..?

Seems to be suggesting the 'Academy' graduates where promoted before they were ready and indicated they will be taking out of the firing line and replaced with players with more experience.

Says he has a dysfunctional side, needs a couple of players and needs to do a re-building job. Pressure on to deliver from day 1.

Exciting future, getting calls from everywhere offering players.

Young players accelerated too fast and we need consistent players who can give 7/8 out of 10 every game. Young players have technical ability but no game knowledge, need more reserve team football.

Had enquiries about a couple of young players but told they were not for sale - good position to be in.

No, not at all. Just a shame JP and MW struggled to grasp that concept.

I dont think that is fair.

The whole object last season was to reduce the wage bill and try and keep out of administration.

JP and MW were thought to be the best to achieve this strategy.

If we were not in such a bad financial situation the strategy would not have been adopted

Good summary (beat me to it!).

I thought that both Brazil and the Skate were very supportive and realistic as well !!

And .... (Of course) ... an even bigger shame that Lowe insisted on going down that route in the first place .......against the advice of MANY Football People:D

.... Virtually, the Rape of our Football Club .... Thank God he's gone .....

You're like a scratched record. It might not be fair but it is fact. AP will be looking at Bosmans and loans...just like the totalling football team could have. I only want to look forwards now and this thread is about AP so for me to bring the dutch duo into the equation was wrong.

I like him

But, he has a big job on his hands & needs a bit of time

I'm worried that some people will be calling for his head if we're not mid-table within weeks

You can be sure of that !

We could no doubt even name names in advance !

Just feel a bit sorry for JP and MW because they we on a hiding to nothing and seemed to be honourable men.

I think the point that is being made is that JP and MW did not understand what was needed to succeed in the Championship, not the historical reasons why they were put in charge.

RUBBISH !!!!!!!!!! .... That worked then ?????

All Lowe did was to virtually DESTROY The Team ...... leaving Youngsters to battle on in the CCC

The CCC may not be the Prem, but it si also NOT a bad League, you NEED decent players to survive in it

Lowe's "excuse" of reducing the debt also reduced the Quality of the Team, which reduced the performance on the pitch, which reduced the points tally, which reduced the attendance figures, which reduced incoming Revenue, which reduced ANY chance of Really reducing the debt

How the Hell can you call that a STRATEGY ????

Lowe's "experiment" plus The Dutch Duo. etc. etc WAS the cause of our catastrophic Demise

Alan Pardew has only stated the OBVIOUS ..... and it echoes what many on here could see from day one of Lowe's Second Coming

Never Never forget how close Lowe came to Destroying us .........

A very, very crap one, but it was a strategy !

At last somebody seeing the wood from the trees. It looks like things will be sorted sooner rather than later.

We will then be able to feed the younger players in as necessary and educate them in the meantime.

My take is slightly different

JP was brought in because we could not afford to increase the wage bill and had experience of running teams with younger players.

He would never have been employed as a convential CCC Manager.

MW after Xmas saw the strategy was not working but it is not worth discussing any further as Pardew is here and seems to be doing a good job.

Agreed, and I really hope that US FANS will give him that time ....... I'm pretty sure he has only just realised what a MASSIVE job he's taken on

Pity about the Hearts match in a way. There won't be many there unfortunately, but I wish them well

Realistically, I reckon a draw v Millwall will be a Good result for us. Pardew has said that he has to install a "winning mentality" into the team.

That ALSO means NOT losing ......... and a Draw is NOT losing ..... which will be a mini confidence boost

Come on guys, give it a rest. He's gone, we've got a new owner etc, let's be happy that we're in the position we're in now. People will never agree on this, so let's just not talk of it anymore.

Peace and love, peace and love ;)

OK, Yes, You are right .... it was a ( crap ) strategy

It was a crap footballing strategy but possibly not a crap financial one.

The current strategy is based entirely on football and it is up to Pardew to make it work.

If he had been here a month earlier I am sure we would be in a better position with a number of new players in place with the team in a more confident state of mind.

It did not work out that way though ........ Lowe, for all his protestations, was caught cold by Barclays decision to virtually " call in the debt " ....... even though it had ( allegedly " been reduced in line with Barclays own schedule

THAT DECISION BY BARCLAYS MERITS AN EXPLANATION IMHO

I think the word rape is a bit over the top but or once in my life I'm going to agree with you Richmond.

It wasn't JP's or Mw's strategy, it was Lowe's. He did it with perhaps the best of intentions but it was a flawed strategy, he was told as much, and wouldn't listen. Maybe Barclay's made it so that he wouldn't listen.

The idea was a mix of youth and experience, but the emphasis was far too much on youth. MW did his best after JP left but let's face it, we were f*cked from the start

Either way, it's done, it's dusted we are where we are, rock bottom has come, and hopefully gone now.

That was in October, and Lowe agreed the new figure.Instead of breaching it why didn't he sell someone in the Jan transfer window?

The only thing that caught him cold was his ego, he never thought they'd pull the plug on the great Rupert Lowe............

Even Bosmans would have cost too much in our state last year. We had a few loans, cheap youngsters from elsewhere. Cork was good and elected to elsewhere.

Why does virtually every thread end up in an argument over what happened in the past and in particular about Lowe. He's gone, it's all in the past. Time to look forward with ML and AP in charge. We also must be patient, there is massive rebuilding to be done.
