The Fat Controller Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 If the club are still saying that they are cutting costs - why when booking a ticket by phone did I just get put through to a call centre in Barnstaple in Devon??? Surely the SMS ticket office staff could cope with demand ?
saints_is_the_south Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 Doubt it, not for the last few weeks anyway with ST's...etc on sale.
The Banana Factor Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 Designated call centres are also generally cheaper as the staff there will be trained to take the calls of several "small" companies so you can in effect share costs with other people rather than having your own complex phone system and quite often paying people to sit around doing nothing in quieter times. Saint Fan CaM Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 Not another moaner - blimey can't the club get anything right? Did you have a problem with the call centre? If not, what's the problem?
Suhari Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 I heard the IT manager was 'let go' last week. Not sure if this was a cost cutting measure or not. Would doubt we're operating in that mindset right now.

Saint_clark Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 Easiest thing is to ring the actual ticket office number, rather than the booking line. I've bought tickets through that number in the past.

There is adequate cover for IT ATM, but support was originally outsourced so no doubt that is being looked at to see if it is value for money HTH

Nineteen Canteen Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 From someone with an admitted disability that was well thought out. 'Disability'? I was backed into a corner to admit I was suffering from an illness for which I am receiving treatment but I don't remember ever admitting or implying I had a disability so please be careful with how you phrase your posts ESB. If you want to take the moral high ground but pointing out the inequities of all my posts then go ahead but my post count could go through the roof if you join the ranks of the 'Holier than thou' brigade. Correct, most now have 5 fingers on each hand, having lost the other one in the sausage making machines. Fair point, I had not followed all the threads in which you were outlining your problems. From the little I had seen I thought you had a disability. So, why are you a nasty piece of work then, with no excuse whatsoever?
Nineteen Canteen Posted 13 August, 2009 Share Posted 13 August, 2009 Fair point, I had not followed all the threads in which you were outlining your problems. From the little I had seen I thought you had a disability. So, why are you a nasty piece of work then, with no excuse whatsoever? All the threads?? One post I made in response to another that made the original accusation and thereafter other posters have decided to make it open season on my personal life in all these other threads. I'm not complaining but not happy with your implication that I am outlining my problems on these threads. Childish insults from the likes of the Gaffer and family, Daren and Wes are water off a ducks back and if I can be bothered I may respond but when comments are phrased as you have done and as the original post was phrased its more difficult to ignore. I'm far from a nasty piece of work to be perfectly honest and considering the amount that gets posted there is very little that gets my back up but when it does I feel I have a right to comment and challenge an individuals view which in some people's eyes makes me a skate, nasty, troll, etc, etc, etc. Reality is I am none of these things I simply don't agree with what is being said or the attitude or more usually fighting my own corner. If people don't like my posts just put me on their ignore list instead of hiding behind the usual playground bullies in an attempt to curry favour with them a la MiserableOldGit. mattyd Posted 14 August, 2009 Share Posted 14 August, 2009 Outsourcing may well be cheaper than keeping it in house. They will have other work to do as well and could even charge a percentage the actual amount they sell as their fee.
