I've noticed some posters on here rate White

If he's going to BSS teams then he's clearly going to struggle to make the grade at this level, and definitely won't in CCC

Nope. No young player has ever come from non-league football into the league. Nope. Never ever. Oh.

I imagine part of this is convenience, he can still train full time with us, but play some games with Eastleigh.

No chance he will train full time for us whilst playing for another team :D

What a bizarre idea.

Who was that lad of ours on loan at Tamworth who played in their cup run a few years ago? Trained with us in the week, played for them at the weekend.

This is to get him games after his injury and then re-assess him.

Why do people have to put a negative spin on everything that happens??

We are getting our **** together! This is not the old Lowe Saints anymore. Some people really need to get it!

Jeez!

So Jamie White goes to a team 2 levels below us and gets slated as having no potential

Yet when in the PL we lent players to L1 teams and heck, even Bournemouth, some of them seem to have benefitted from that.

The lad has been injured he will not get into our new first team this season unless he plays and excels at a competitive level. Another wise move.

# or 4 more to go and they'll be back next year with experience and footballing heads ready to give us a bloody good squad depth for our promotion push

Give him a chance mate, he was out for a season with cruciate just when he was on the verge of the first team back in the championship.

Don't forget mate, we are now league 1, teams want to loan in players that are going to make them better, not many CCC teams look down, would rather look for Premiership players not getting a game.

I'm sure he'll make it for Saints and that Pardew is just sending him out to get first team action and to build up confidence, BSS is probably a better place to that rather than our reserves, oaimo

Think that you can buy meds for that.

Don't knock the negs too much though. They've been with us since before the dawn of time (well when Terry Paine was getting stick)

Change is a really hard thing for any of us to accept and we've been suckered and scammed for so many years now, it will take time for them to come around. *****il we get shafted again somehow sometime somewhere)

The moaners are fine it's the lunatic plain factually wrong ones that cause Jock Itch to start up

:p

I tend to think that the only way for some of our youngsters to progress is the loan market. Unless they are another Theo or gareth they will not find many chances of a game now at SMS. Give them some real live footy and you just might get a player or two that will benefit the squad in the future.

A very good point, effectively a certain David Connolly has just done the same thing by dropping 2 leagues - but nobody seems to be giving him any flack. Very strange... ;)

Makes sense to send him out on loan and give him some game time.

In theory, he should do well for Eastleigh in that division, but we'll see how he gets on.

Personally, I'm not convinced by White but he's still young and he's learning so he could make a career for himself at Saints yet.

As has been disclosed today, Jamie White's agent was trying to get a league club interested but didn't succeed. For Chrxst's sake that doesn't mean that the lad is "rubbish".

He is very young and has had a series of injuries which has had an impact on his career. Similar to Connolly, actually, when you think of it. Many clubs rightly worry about things like that. Is he injury prone? Is he good enough? The answer is that we don't know.

He has gone to Eastleigh which is the second biggest club in the area. There he has a chance of starting to prove the doubters wrong. If he plays, stays fit and scores a few goals then the league clubs will be interested. It must be better for him to play regularly than to hang around our reserves, since his chances of starting a game for us at the moment looks remarkably remote.

Let's wish the guy the best of luck.

Whether any league club would have been interested in a player recovering from injury is moot. But with Eastleigh he can still train full time at Staplewood when they aren't having their own sessions and use all of Saints facilities, he doesn't have to face a disruptive move and live out of a suitcase, and his new team mates will certainly keep him up to the mark. Plus he gets first team experience in a physical league.

Good move, in my opinion.
