Adam the Man

A question to anyone who went the game last night. Where did Adam play. Out on the left wing or behind Rickie and David?

I personally think he is more effective behind the front two. What do others think….

he's effective in any attacking position, as long as there is tactical discipline to his game and the team as a whole.

Last season he was told to just play, with no shape or discipline around him - it shows what a good manager can do, as pard's is getting the best out of his undoubted ability.

He generally played wide left, but makes so many positive runs into space that he has no specifc 'position' as such (2bf)

If only his runs were spotted by our midfield more often, he'd easily be our top scorer!

Fantastic work rate last night, in the face of ridiculous weather conditions!

Let's hope Pards can persuade him to stay on in January!

Lallana is an awful player......according to some of our resident football expert(s)

No he is not, after the Brighton game his indiscipline was obviously an issue and was sorted because he was excellent against Norwich, tracking back when needed. It didn't inhibit his attacking side in the least but made us better for it.

Apologies if this has been posted a million times in here, but I really laughed out loud when I read it:

"Adam Lallana has admitted that he may have to reassess his seasonal targets after netting twice in the 3-1 victory over Hartlepool.

The Saints Academy graduate took his tally for the season to eleven goals already this campaign having originally set a target of double figures for the season.

"It's got to be fifteen now I think," he revealed afterwards. "I'll take it game by game, and if I hit fifteen I'll just go on from there. It's nice to be scoring goals, and it's good to be back winning games, especially on the road.""

You've got 11 before december and you aim for 15 in total? :D Good, modest kid, and he knows he'll score a handful more then the 15 - but there's no reason to put himself under pressure by setting unrealistic targets...

Hope we win today or we'll get the likes of Derry on here again trying to blame it on Adam.

Read my post on here, he addressed my criticisms both against Norwich and Hartlepool. Obviously Pardew sorted the lack of tracking back when necessary. Players can't just play off the cuff all the time and he has proved that being more disciplined hasn't detracted from his performance, but has enhanced it.
